Would you let a 12 year old and 5 year old go to the playground together?

NC in case I get called a terrible parent!

Both are very sensible, playground is 5 minutes from our house and 12 year old has a phone. I'll be WFH.

Last day of the summer holidays and wondering if this is okay? My brothers and I were certainly off all over the place at these ages in the 90s!

I would but I live in a small village and there are no busy roads nearby.

Absolutely fine. Tell the 12 year old to set a timer and pop in every 15 minutes if it makes you feel a little better.
When mine are that age I will be expecting my 12 year old to do this.

No a 5 year old needs supervising by an adult. 12 year old yes.

My Mum used to pay me 50p a day to look after my 6-year-old brother when I was 12 in the 70s.

We used to do things like travel the whole length of the central line from West Ruislip to Ongar. He loved going to Little Chefs. So long as I took him to a Little Chef and bought him soup, he would not tell Mum how far we had gone.
