Do you feel nervous or uneasy using unisex loos?

It is a bit offputting when several men are washing hands and whistling away and you are only woman there. Or if you leave a loo at same time and clock eyes with a bloke.

I’m not a fan of having to put the loo seat down and negotiate little pools of piss on the floor. Unisex loos really put me off.

Oh, and men who stand having a piss with the door open. That really angers me. What if a young girl was going in alone?

What a terrible terrible idea unisex loos are. Please may they be eradicated.

I don't like the ones that are like a normal restroom. They aren't open enough for me and feel weird. I don't mind the individual toilets that are open into a larger space and don't have shared sinks.

If you have ever been to a French campsite, all the loos and shower blocks are normally unisex.

One of the ones I go to regularly- and it is a 4* site- has the urinal room right next to the entrance so it’s a lovely sight first thing in the morning!

But you get used to it- it’s far more accepted on the continent I think!

I prefer them. They are usually bigger and have sinks inside the cubicle. Well, the ones I’ve used before. Never had any issues at all and the one I use can get busy

Yes, yes I do. Especially with the pronoun police out in force. The entitlement is so off the scale it’s intimidating- as I’m sure it’s supposed to be.

If I can shut the door to my cubicle, I don't care who else is in the next one.

Only encountered this once at a wedding. The male guests and the elderly guests were very uncomfortable.

It just doesn’t make me anxious at all.

Where I am, they opened a new market that has male, female and gender neutral toilets. I rarely see the gender neutral ones being used so I'd say most people in my area feel the same.

Hate them. Find the hygiene level worse in unisex compared to single sex. I’d rather queue.

I hate them. Was doing a college course and the college had unisex loos. Sinks were not in the cubicle. Young people seem to congregate in loos - I'd walk in and sometimes there'd be six 18 year old boys just stood in there chatting...and me trying to pee.

I'm not bothered by them.

Also hate them. We have the individual cubicles in our office (Civil Service) and then separate rooms for men and women. The gender neutral cubicles are exclusively used by men and are called the “men’s poo loos” and are utterly disgusting.

I don't think it's legal for the loos to be unisex if the hand washing facilities are communal? They have to be standalone cubicles with sink inside, so there's no reason to encounter the other users other than on entry/exit of the main door of the toilets.

I refuse to use them. If I go somewhere and find they have unisex loos, I go elsewhere.

When they started converting our offices in London (before the supreme court ruling), I just walked up to an un-converted floor.

Then the ruling came through and they converted them all back again. 😁 Serves them right for pandering to such nonsense.

I can't bear them, there's always drips of piss in front of the loo from some dirty bugger and they smell bad. And the ones that aren't locked but turn out to be occupied - just yuk

No. I have no problem using them most of the time. I did encounter a weird set up in a McDonalds in Paris. The main door had male and female symbol on, through the door there were several urinals, a couple of stalls and then a further door for the women's toilets. I found it absolutely bizarre to have to walk past men pissing in urinals. Generally though the unisex toilets I've used have been absolutely fine.

Women’s only toilets have always been in much worse condition than mixed toilets ime. So much visible wee, poo, blood. It astounds me that so many adults around us must think it’s acceptable to leave public toilets like that.

I hate unisex loos because I feel uneasy and they are generally dirty/smell of wee.

I don’t want to take my daughters to a toilet where a man may come in or go out.

I am infuriated that the wishes of a truly tiny (and one might argue mentally ill) proportion of the population have been prioritised over the wishes of half of us.
