I live in Ireland on the east and it’s rarely frosty here now . When I was a child I remember there often being frost in September going back to school. It’s kind of sad really , and people are still in denial about global warming . I miss when there were proper seasons . It all sort of blends into one here for most of the year now

No . I’m loving being able to throw the doors open in the morning to sun . I love grabbing a coffee and pottering outside .

No thanks...the reality isn't crisp, sunny,winter mornings, its grey, dark, wet and miserable. I can't remember the last crisp sunny day!

Having read this thread I'm suddenly exited for frosty mornings, although I liked them a lot more when I lived in a house with a log burner

Cold frosty mornings and the run up to Christmas is my favourite…! The colder and snowier and frostier the better! I LOVE everything from Halloween onwards.

YABU. Frosty and icy mornings give me a lot of anxiety if I have to drive. And it’s a real pain to de-ice the car. Plus heating bills.

I don’t mind the cold at all but hate the dark. I leave for work very early in the morning and return home late so it’s just dark all of the time.

My DW is like this, but we live in Berkshire so she gets to enjoy about 2 crisp frosty morns but forgets the other 6 months of cold, dark drizzle

Yes… if we did get lovely dry cold brightness.Reality is dank, dark and stormy. Spare a thought for your bonkers horsey sisters at 6an battling mud, wind and rain.

I find something to love in all seasons and like living in a part of the world with a lot of seasonal variation.

But loving Winter excessively and seeing it a "cosy" time" is a modern privilege - in previous centuries (and for many now still) it was a time of hinger and hardship and there was a good chance the older and more vulnerable members of your community would not survive - which is why we a pretty much hardwired to welcome Spring.

How about a forest, a cliff top, a national park....? Where you can actually enjoy the weather you are claiming to love?

Why the focus on shopping and being in hot sweaty shops full of Other People, so grim.
