Its becoming clear that Trump has a kind of dementia. A guy on tiktok claims that at the World Cup Final, he was 'sundowning' by wondering around everywhere.

Him being handled there and in Turkiye, is proof enough for me. Apparently he constantly smells of urine as well, due to his meds.

How is Biden remotely comparable? He didn't have the criminal conviction, he hasn't had to pay out millions of dollars to a rape victim, he didn't cause needless deaths through an utterly pointless war he doesn't know how to to bring to an end, he didn't repeatedly have his policies overturned as unlawful and unconstitutional, he wasn't ranting all night on social media, he wasn't constantly falling asleep in public, he wasn't constantly making long rambling speeches full of irrelevancies and lies.

And she lasted all of 2 minutes and is mostly forgotten about on game shows when asked to name UK female prime ministers 😁.

I know it's shallow, but I agree. I used to wonder why she didn't divorce him but I suppose she's hanging on for the inheritance. (No, this isn't a nice way to talk about another human being, but Trump himself has not set us a good example there, has he?)

And the public didn’t vote for her. She didn’t have rallies with the rabid followers that Trump does. As soon as it became obvious that she was a disaster she was removed by her party.

Look at what has just happened here. Kier Starmer has been forced out by his party for much lesser crimes than being a warmongering rapist and nonce.

Yes but....it was easy enough for the Tories to remove her when it became apparent she was a total liability. That old British tradition - ' the men in the grey suits' sorted it all out. Even the venerable Winston Churchill was persuaded to step down when his health was failing. And he was a tough old bird , champagne for breakfast and a good nap in the afternoon. Can't do that sort of thing now with all the media intrusion.

That is fair - but they have Trump for the same reason that we had Liz Truss (and Corbyn) - they had to appeal to the membership.

What they don't have is a straightforward way to get rid of an elected President, I suppose because they are directly elected.

I think there is a procedure to force a President to stand down if there are serious health issues, but the trouble is the successor is automatically the Vice-President, and in this case that means Vance.

Look, I don't like the guy at all but seriously, some of the posts on here are truly awful. Using Tiktok and Instagram as legitimate sources of information and then using that AI generated noise to gleefully post about someone's poor health and possible death is not a good look.

I hope he lives a long life in which he is forced to reflect on and atone for some of the stuff he has done. That's what is fair, right and appropriate.

I don’t believe that he’ll be forced out. He certainly has senior moments and ramblings, if he has dementia it is at the early stages, he probably has a lot of time left before he reaches the stage of Joe Biden.

It’s hard to watch a man with so much power be so arrogant, he speaks to women like their second class citizens, he’s a rapist, he is a con artist, he is self serving, rude with no filter, he is all over the Epstein files. it really shows that money can’t buy class but it can buy freedom.

Like it or not, Trump appears to be in better physical shape than Biden was in office, although admittedly that's a low bar.

id say its not the money, but more the connections and the info he knows etc chances are there a alot more richer people in politics etc

When I see Trump now, I'm reminded of Ronald Reagan's final term as POTUS., though to be fair to Reagan, he was in a different league regarding his diplomacy and homeland policies.

Trump increased his personal wealth by 2 Billion and yes that’s a B in his first year in office, I really doubt there is anyone in politics richer. A lot of this was from his Crypto coins where he made millions and people who bought it lost millions.

In the uk we have just had the brutal murder of a third mp in ten years. There is very little political discussion here just blind hatred. Awful.

Trump is not in good health. This is the second American President in a row who has not been in good health and whose critical faculties have been in doubt. We are all impacted by choices made by the American President. This is a fair topic for discussion.

If you have dementia and you are sundowning you can’t switch it on and off to be ok in public. As others have said it’s extreme agitation and in some cases fighting with carers.

Mr Trump will stay as long as he possibly can. He promised people they would never have to vote again. I see no reason why to disbelieve him.
If he can curtail the midterm elections in November he will. He can use the rationale that the country is at war with Iran and can no longer have an election.
He recently said he would not go for a third term and make a fuss. They aren’t allowed to. But because he said he wouldn’t I think if he is still around he most certainly will give it a go.
Any Opposition seems non existent pretty much. Some noise over the ICE arrests. But generally, not a peep from the Democrats.

It's not double standards unless you can identify who in the Labour Party is like Trump ie convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up hush payments to a sex worker, sexual abuse and fined $5M, has several bankruptcies, and that's just for starters.

I do struggle with the American system. How was it that their options last elections were 2 old white men (until Biden stepped down very late in the process).

I mean the UK system is by no means perfect, and I hate Reform and all that they stand for - but it's great that people were able to say "I don't believe what the current parties stand for, I will create my own". I don't think that can happen in the US? Happy to be corrected.

I want Trump to leave office - like yesterday - but not being shot. 3 reasons - 1) I do not want him to turn into some kind of martyr, 2) he should face his crimes and 3) the political system should be robust enough to remove unhinged presidents without the use of a gun.

But ultimately, he was voted in to represent the American people, and if he is who they see as their representative, then that's who we are stuck with. The rest of the world just need to react accordingly, and it will be interesting to see the long term repercussions of Trump on the world stage.
