How long does Trump have left?

whoremembers · 20/07/2026 21:35

In office?
On earth?

Will he just carry on, an unwell man, until 2028? Or will he call it quits and resign?

Or will he pass before then anyway?

I am no Trump supporter, but he really is 'going out sad'

Edit: context
Its becoming clear that Trump has a kind of dementia. A guy on tiktok claims that at the World Cup Final, he was 'sundowning' by wondering around everywhere.

Him being handled there and in Turkiye, is proof enough for me. Apparently he constantly smells of urine as well, due to his meds.

I haven't got time to read the full thread, but I saw that TikTok Dr being mentioned.

He used to appear on my Instagram feed for a while and I'd watch his videos about Trump, initially believing some of what he was saying. But then he started predicting very specific details about what would happen to Trump, including that he was going to die on a certain day. This was months ago. Trump is very much still alive.

It just all seems a bit odd for him to do that. Nobody, not a single person can tell you what day someone with dementia is going to die. You can't always believe everything you see online.

Just to add in my disclaimer - I am not a trump supporter. I know exactly how I will feel when he does die.

PuzzledObserver · 21/07/2026 10:28

YABU to use the word “pass”. The word you need is “die.”

Sartre · 21/07/2026 10:43

He doesn’t look very well. I did think he looked like a lost old man at the World Cup ceremony with Infantino taking him by the arm and leading him away, like he didn’t realise he wasn’t supposed to stand there. He doesn’t seem like himself. We forget he’s 80 and definitely obese as most Americans are so not in fine health.

Obviously he’d never confirm health conditions so we won’t know. I suspect he’ll see out the term. Vance is interesting, he came across very well in Hillbilly Elegy and I quite liked him after reading it. He’s obviously behaved atrociously in recent years.

Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit · 21/07/2026 10:49

Trump has done more damage to America than anybody ever thought possible.

Throughout the world America is now mocked and mistrusted and reviled.

American stupidity, greed and arrogance is on full display in the Shite House.

Internationally I don’t think this will ever be forgotten or forgiven.

Even when Trump is long dead, even if a sane leader is elected in the future be that democrat or a normal (ie non Maga) republican too much damage has been done.

America has long painted itself as valour’s minion in both political rhetoric and it’s innumerable films and television offerings (which can now only be viewed with much eye rolling and irony) but this era, if it ever existed, is long gone.

Both speeches and entertainment will need a very different tone in future if the makers want any level of credibility.

Dead or alive, the Trump effect will be eternal.

Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit · 21/07/2026 10:54

If I was an American, and I thank christ I am not, and was travelling abroad I would be cultivating a Canadian accent and pretending I was from there rather than admit any association.

Overtheatlantic · 21/07/2026 11:13

I’m an American, thank Christ. I am angry about what trump and the Republicans have done to my country, and I agree that it won’t soon be forgotten or forgiven. Nor should it; when we get through this dark time I believe the country will need to revisit the Constitution and find a way forward that will make it impossible for one party/President to rule with unfettered power. We have to make changes from within.

Gcol · 21/07/2026 11:16

Doesn’t warrant anything post presidential- funeral, statues etc. Mount Rushmore can’t support a 5th bust. As Jefferson (2nd one left) was being carved on the other side but found a fault line so carved him on the other side of Washington. Plus more fault lines to right of Lincoln

That stupid dance he does makes him more demented.

Then slags off people like Bruce Springsteen for his looks. Look at yourself in the mirror Trump

Dweetfidilove · 21/07/2026 11:27

I hope he finishes his term 🙏🏾.

Couldn’t agree more!

how fucked up making a thread trying to predict when someone will drop dead 🤢

It's nice to give people something to look forward to 🤷‍♀️

I know it's shallow, but I agree. I used to wonder why she didn't divorce him but I suppose she's hanging on for the inheritance. (No, this isn't a nice way to talk about another human being, but Trump himself has not set us a good example there, has he?)

She has to fulfil the terms of her contract, I'd guess

EmailsaysOOO · 21/07/2026 11:55

Fldkd · 20/07/2026 21:39

He serves till the end of the term. The Dems take back the white house. Hopefully a new DOJ can indict him on the various crimes and illegal things he did

I don't follow American politics closely Got a feeling though that he managed to somehow wangle immunity from prosecution from any actions taken whilst in office..Does anyone know if this is true ?

Posted to soon i used to be a RMN and worked in Dementia care on and off for years

If Trump had moderate or advnced Dementia it would be very evodent
Hes 80 he quite possibly has cognitive decline

I think it IS very evident.
His language 'challenges' for a start. Remember his bragging about being able to label 'man' 'woman' 'camera' or whatever had him repeating them to anyone that would listen? What an achievement having the right words for things 🙄
I have a friend that was adament that he had FTD years ago. (due to the field she works in)There wasn't the amount of speculation then so I didn't really give it a lot of thought. But yeah, it's absolutely possible, especially considering that it often goes undiagnosed for years.

Whether he has age related decline or early stage dementia, he won't be the first American President to suffer from either of those conditions.

That's appalling in itself. Why does this important and highly stressful job keep being given to elderly men in poor health?

Overtheatlantic · 21/07/2026 12:50

Because Americans love the patriarchy? 😳

placemats · 21/07/2026 12:55

The world loves the patriarchy.

Can't even begin to imagine a female politician with such power, age, looks and behaviour like Trump still in position of power. It simply wouldn't happen.

is this the ‘caring’ left wishing a man dead? I’m shocked…

I wish all warmongering pervs death,🤷‍♀️ Sleepy Don the Sex Offender doesnt get a pass from me.

Why are you a fan?

Gcol · 21/07/2026 13:25

Another thing
Trump is the second president not to have any pets.

See photos of other presidents having fun with their pets.

You have never seen him having a proper laugh with politicians and others. Even in global conferences such as G7, the other presidents, prime ministers etc - have a joke, laugh with each other. Trump sits on his own.

He is the person who you label “did we have to invite him?”

expatme · 21/07/2026 13:28

To all those reviling this thread, how do you feel about the fact that the dismantling of USAID, done so gleefully by Trump and Musk, is estimated to have resulted in the deaths of 500,000 babies and children worldwide? I think, even discounting the corruption, the sex crimes, the wars, the lies, the racism, the sexism, that alone earns him a place in hell. Preferably sooner than later.

Flammenwerfer · 21/07/2026 13:35

His dad died with dementia.
Maybe he's got it too.

But America knew he was a convicted rapist and voted him in anyway...

but in a swimming pool of sharks on the worlds stage, with other leaders and sharks why or what use is a weak president and vp ? where is the Machiavellian logic of a weak leader ? better a bastard than a Walter Mitty leading the country ?

Edited

Other sharks? The US president is a perishing guppy.

Trump, like Walter Mitty, is a fantasist who in his own mind is the hero of his own story. According to him, strong men come up to him with tears in their eyes and thank him for things he hasn't actually done. Other world leaders address him as "Sir". Everything he does is beyond anyone's imaginings and is the most whatever it is that there has ever been, and nobody ever saw anything like it.

Bastard? Get on with you. Nasty little man, certainly, but Trump is so weak and pathetic that he and his empty bombast are ignored on all sides, and his only recourse to try to prove himself a tough guy has been to start a war with Iran that he cannot win. (Quite why sending young men and women to die means he is tough I cannot actually fathom, but he seems to think that's how it works. Putin invaded Ukraine similarly, expecting to win in a week. That didn't happen either; how many million men do these megalomaniacs need to kill on battlefields anyway?) He thinks in his muddled mind that tariffs are paid by the countries on which he has imposed them as punishment for the countries' leaders not doing what he tells them to. (They are not.)

Trump has managed to get America despised in a way it has not been before, even during the Vietnam war.

But what is really bad about him is that by choosing the team of evil and venal men he has done to be in his government, he is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths worldwide. Their climate policies (which are anti-climate policies to get more money for the very rich in America) will cause many hundreds of thousands more to die even after Trump himself is dead, because his evil cronies will continue to be in positions of power and continue to think they are immune from the effects of climate change – and they may already have taken it past a point from which it cannot be clawed back. Don't like the heatwaves and wildfires? Because of Trump and his ilk, we can expect a whole lot more of those. And he and they will go on not caring that by cutting US aid to the really poor countries of the world (a gap which China will probably fill, thus lessening the USA's influence even further) they cause the deaths of tens and even hundreds of children and women every single day, more every day, of preventable conditions and diseases. Remember Ebola? US aid was keeping that under control until Trump and his merry men decided to cut the aid; now there is another epidemic. It will probably get loose in the States, and that will be entirely the fault of Trump and his stupidity and his stupid yes-men.

As for what he has done to the American economy, words fail me, but even his MAGA supporters have started to notice they are having to take out loans to buy basic groceries, and can no longer afford the fuel for their cars.

I don't care if it is because he dies or not, but the sooner he is gone the better for everyone except a few American billionaires who have profited from his existence in his present post.

In the uk we have just had the brutal murder of a third mp in ten years. There is very little political discussion here just blind hatred. Awful.

Exactly. And then you have @CJsGoldfish who claims predicting his death gives her something to look forward to. But that’s the loving left for you 😂

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 21/07/2026 14:11

Is there in fact any evidence that CJsGoldfish is left-wing politically? I have missed it if that was made clear upthread.

I don't think you need to be left-wing to be able to see what a disaster Trump is for the world and for the USA.
