How long does Trump have left?

whoremembers · 20/07/2026 21:35

In office?
On earth?

Will he just carry on, an unwell man, until 2028? Or will he call it quits and resign?

Or will he pass before then anyway?

I am no Trump supporter, but he really is 'going out sad'

Edit: context
Its becoming clear that Trump has a kind of dementia. A guy on tiktok claims that at the World Cup Final, he was 'sundowning' by wondering around everywhere.

Him being handled there and in Turkiye, is proof enough for me. Apparently he constantly smells of urine as well, due to his meds.

did you study or read Machiavelli's the prince ? or the book the 48 laws of power ? because im guessing different political strategists have and then they advise trump etc

One, not the other. In general I think The Prince is misunderstood.

I have not read the The 48 Laws of Power, mostly because it seems to me that if eg Courtney Love and Kanye West think it is the gnat's spats, I might well dislike it really quite a lot, and I am too old and lazy to devote all that much time to things I dislike, even if the author claimed it had been read by Fidel Castro. It's bad enough to listen to Trump in order to be able to form my own opinion of his capacity and character, without any further masochism.

What I would definitely doubt is that Trump has read either, and also that he would understand it if his advisors tried to feed him ideas from them. I don't think he has the mental capacity to concentrate hard enough for long enough. I base this on the reports of daily briefings for him (the PDB) needing to be written LARGE on a single sheet of A4, and even then he seemed unable to comprehend them. And that was during his previous presidency; I'm not sure we've heard that the PDB even happens during this one. He does get a video montage of things in Iran blowing up for about two minutes, I think. Whether it's the same things as the day before, who knows. Whether he would notice if it were, I wouldn't like to hazard a guess.

SlugoftheLimberlost · 21/07/2026 18:44

Trump was always a vile, disgusting man with a low IQ, despite him trying to claim otherwise. However, he is now definitely suffering from very noticeable dementia symptoms. Those who are claiming that it's just him getting old need to look closer at his behaviour.

  • Getting very agressive towards anyone who challenges him, usually journalists.
  • Frequent rambling speeches which start off with incoherent sentences peppered with odd, irrelevant words and then deteriorate into strange sounds that aren't actual words.
  • Showing confusion when being asked simple, straightforward questions.
  • Not being able to remember the names of obvious things and, for instance, calling Greenland, Iceland and calling Iran, the Islamic Republic of Japan.
  • There are various videos of him getting off planes and at events which show that he isn't able to walk in a straight line or go in the right direction, despite there often being a narrow carpet to guide him. Other world leaders having to take his arm to get him back on track.
  • Then there are the ridiculous delusions about himself. They might have been there when he was younger but they have now got out of control.
That's just off the top of my head. There is a lot more. So, please don't criticise those who wish him gone. He has cost countless lives, including the Iranian schoolgirls and those who have died due to the withdrawal of medical support. The world will be a safer place with him gone and I have no compunction in wishing him dead.
Gcol · 21/07/2026 19:21

@SlugoftheLimberlost there is a clip of Trump walking all over the place - with someone putting the Benny Hill tune on it.

Also:
. He has to drink bottles of water and Diet Coke at an awkward angle. Sometimes holding the bottle with both hands
. He walks with a dragging foot
. Signs by the certain rooms have the name of the room - Oval Office etc. The only places that have the name of rooms like this are care homes

You never see Trump with glasses. There is a photo sitting in the Beast (President’s car) with his iPhone on large text. Then looks at it from afar like anyone who can’t read close up. Everyone over 65 I know requires glasses for somethings.

Big mistake to think that people like Trump have someone reining them in. Sometimes they do, often they don't, because the senior advice was hand picked by them.

Look at his actions, look at his words and look at the result of them. That's all anyone really needs to know about Trump. Also, The Prince is not what most rational people would think a good guidebook for 21st C politics, even if the bunch of deadheads around him that he appointed have read it.

There is a difference between discussing the health of someone whose decisions affect all of us and spewing hate. This thread contains a lot of hate speech and it's disgusting. You can say Trump is a disaster and discuss why the republicans dont manage him out without being vile.

Please report the hate speech if you are sure about it; I include my posts in this, if they contain hate speech as opposed to simply observation of facts. Such was not my intention.

Other sharks? The US president is a perishing guppy.

Trump, like Walter Mitty, is a fantasist who in his own mind is the hero of his own story. According to him, strong men come up to him with tears in their eyes and thank him for things he hasn't actually done. Other world leaders address him as "Sir". Everything he does is beyond anyone's imaginings and is the most whatever it is that there has ever been, and nobody ever saw anything like it.

Bastard? Get on with you. Nasty little man, certainly, but Trump is so weak and pathetic that he and his empty bombast are ignored on all sides, and his only recourse to try to prove himself a tough guy has been to start a war with Iran that he cannot win. (Quite why sending young men and women to die means he is tough I cannot actually fathom, but he seems to think that's how it works. Putin invaded Ukraine similarly, expecting to win in a week. That didn't happen either; how many million men do these megalomaniacs need to kill on battlefields anyway?) He thinks in his muddled mind that tariffs are paid by the countries on which he has imposed them as punishment for the countries' leaders not doing what he tells them to. (They are not.)

Trump has managed to get America despised in a way it has not been before, even during the Vietnam war.

But what is really bad about him is that by choosing the team of evil and venal men he has done to be in his government, he is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths worldwide. Their climate policies (which are anti-climate policies to get more money for the very rich in America) will cause many hundreds of thousands more to die even after Trump himself is dead, because his evil cronies will continue to be in positions of power and continue to think they are immune from the effects of climate change – and they may already have taken it past a point from which it cannot be clawed back. Don't like the heatwaves and wildfires? Because of Trump and his ilk, we can expect a whole lot more of those. And he and they will go on not caring that by cutting US aid to the really poor countries of the world (a gap which China will probably fill, thus lessening the USA's influence even further) they cause the deaths of tens and even hundreds of children and women every single day, more every day, of preventable conditions and diseases. Remember Ebola? US aid was keeping that under control until Trump and his merry men decided to cut the aid; now there is another epidemic. It will probably get loose in the States, and that will be entirely the fault of Trump and his stupidity and his stupid yes-men.

As for what he has done to the American economy, words fail me, but even his MAGA supporters have started to notice they are having to take out loans to buy basic groceries, and can no longer afford the fuel for their cars.

I don't care if it is because he dies or not, but the sooner he is gone the better for everyone except a few American billionaires who have profited from his existence in his present post.

Thanks - excellent synopsis 💐

Is this the one you mean? But he is wearing glasses....
https://metro.co.uk/2025/06/30/donald-trump-caught-wearing-reading-glasses-rare-moment-23546519/

The only previous time he was photographed in glasses was at a rally in 2016, when he briefly put them on to read from a piece of paper on stage.

Donald Trump caught wearing glasses and reading paper in presidential motorcade

President Donald Trump was photographed with black-trimmed reading glasses for seemingly the first time in his second term.

Gcol · 21/07/2026 21:02

He's not worn them since.

I doubt he has never taken a brolly down. When he boards AF1 when it rains, he has a brolly climbing up the steps. He enters the plane and leaves the brolly which is still up on the platform.

Awww, thanks for the shoutout 😊

I can guarantee that the checking the news each morning with fingers crossed is not a partisan act.

I feel the same about every vile, evil megalomaniac who lines his pockets, and those in his sphere, on the backs of the suffering and death of others. 🤷‍♀️
Thinking of similar autocratic, authoritarian leaders and the devastation they have caused and I don't see how anyone wouldn't tbh

This implies Trumps has the slightest idea what he is doing, though, or has what the man on the Clapham Omnibus might think of as strategies. I am not convinced, having paid attention to his maunderings, that he does.

All the garbage about the reflecting pool being vandalised and having an I forget how long he said it was gash ripped in its liner, for example, was clearly off-the-wall at the very least. He initially said it was painted. Ripping a gash in paint would be futile, if it could even be done. And before you ask, Trump repeatedly said it was being painted "American Flag Blue" (which can be seen, now the pool has been drained yet again, to have faded to grey/gray already, less than a month after all the hoofaraw about it being all-new and all-American before the algae started to bloom, which Trump also attributed to vandals) before he started talking about it having a liner. I think he might mean that the paint constitutes a liner, but he dunnarf sound confused. Also paranoid. The paint started to peel off, and anyone who looked at it floating up to the surface was liable to arrest for having caused it to surface; mad.

As for your wondering what the context is in which he says things, again having listened to the actual speeches rather than reading the sanitised transcripts in the media, it is my opinion that he says whatever pops into his head at any given moment, and there is no particular context apart from, "Oh look, a microphone for me to talk into. They gave me one that didn't work once, and as for teleprompts, well, I gave up on those because nobody can make them work, even my uncle who was a Harvard and Yale professor for seventy years couldn't make them work, and he invented lasers and told me I was the most intelligent man he'd ever met"..... (This is itself a great deal more coherent than he often is, but I can't imitate stream-of-semi-consciousness ramblings all that well.)

What is behind HIM is a further question; I think that means who is or are his puppet-master(s). I have a feeling Putin may have been for quite a while, for example, and I am also reasonably sure the people responsible for producing Project 2025 (which Trump asserted he knew nothing about; maybe that was true) may be pulling his strings to get their policies implemented when he notices them.

I don't go with the classic "puppet master" scenario, but it is well documented that people do try to influence him through the media. Steve Bannon used his Breitbart for example. Want to plant an idea in the Trump head, get your idea onto media that Trump follows.

As a great example of this, there is Boris. When he was Foreign sec, he went to DC to try to persuade Trump not to rip up the Iran nuke deal. But Trump refused to see him. So what did Boris do .... he went on Fox news to try to talk direct to Trump.

When has tv conferences in the Oval Office, why does he need people behind him? Other presidents didn’t do this

All that tacky gold embellishments in the Oval Office. Once he goes (in any way). I can see on removing these crap that old plasterwork will come off in chunks. As probably used the wrong fixture stuff for old walls.

Trump has used superglue to attach the crap spray golf stuff onto marble fireplace. It will create stains

simpsonthecat · 22/07/2026 07:49

Trump needs all the gold embellishments as a boost to his ego. He wants it to look autocratic without realising it just pisses people off except his superfans. As for him wearing glasses, oh no, anything like that would be seen as a sign of weakness despite the fact most people of his age wear them. And this is why he is obsessed with lying about his height, his weight, his fitness, his strength, even though he staggers along looking very senile, falls asleep while the cameras are on him, rambles incoherently and generally is an 80 year old duffer with a bad diet and a paper thin ego.

Incidentally, there is another thread running about him and people talking about sleepy Joe? I am just surprised that is still wheeled out, given I cannot recall Biden ever falling asleep in press conferences. yet Trump does it repeatedly. Make it make sense

I think he both likes the gold and knows that it will annoy people.

It’s a way of asserting power - “You think it’s tacky? Well just look at me doing it anyway”.

He gained power by stoking division, not unity.

Decimal place error 😅

Actually, that was a joke that went viral, I believe. They did lie about his height and weight, but didn't actually include any body fat percentages. That might have been a step too far, even for this lot.

I've heard some convincing arguments that he's a very sick man and being kept alive with regular IV medication (hence the bruised hand), but I suspect he will stay president until he dies/is timed out as that is his best protection from corruption charges etc. Would be delighted, but surprised if he died in jail, but suspect the wheels of justice will be slower than his organ failure.

Edited

Trump is a convicted felon and rapist. I hope he goes one way or another very soon

Yes, they should. And contrive not be racist misogynists.

That and learn to believe people when they say who they are loud and clear, and not think that a man who has gone bankrupt four or five times is a brilliant businessman, and a man who is foulmouthed when he thinks he is in private is a nice fellow, and a billionaire is a man of the people.

(That last is a problem we have in England too: yer ordinary man seems to think Farage is on his side because Farage gets photographed drinking pints of beer in public, and to hell with Farage's wealth and city businessman actuality. And rich man Boris ostentatiously rode a bicycle so he must be One Of Us really. And so forth.)

Lentilcakes · 22/07/2026 22:19

I think there should be an upper age limit to stand for President (in any country). Some people are still cognitively able at 80, but reactions/thought processes are going to be slower/impaired at best, early dementia at worse.
