The UK gov denies and just blanket revoked ETAs for people who wanted to attend the "unite the right rally". Rightfully so imo.

The Home office judged these people shouldn't have been coming over and it should have stayed that way.

And because of this individual case the OP wants us all to give up our human rights protections.

You don't think this hasn't set the scene for more cases? Extended families will be trying their luck left right and centre. The government's more robust intentions are only good on paper.

How can there be evidence when this has only just been granted? You may be naive to believe this is the end of it but I'm not. 18 family members. Let that sink in.

Yeah we don’t make the legal and policy decisions, so can’t compel them to change laws adhoc just because we don’t like them.

That’s what we elect governments for.

I think everyone would push for more family to join, it’s what Labour are trying to subvert because it’s not doable.

Labour MPs have just voted through much stricter family reunification policies, so if 18 people meet a right to family life it’ll be interesting to see if there’s a clash.

For all means, campaign for modernisation of the ECHR, but don't say leave in a kneejerk reaction to a family reunion.

No precedent has been set.

Apparently our total asylum cost works out at around £125 per tax payer, per year.

I’m alright with that.

That's nice for struggling British families to know. They don't get a choice.

I think we spent about £4b per year on asylum seeker but I don't know how much was spent on this family and I don't care. I wish them a safe, happy and healthy life.

£10b was wasted on PPE

Tax is paid, and spent as the sitting government requires/sees fit.
