Get to fuck @Middleaged77 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’m 32 and probably won’t feel “middle aged” until I’m at least 52.

Heyheyitsanotherday · 13/07/2026 14:18

This someone bored trying to start a dramatic thread? Can’t be serious 😂 what age range is she allowed to date?! Is the mumsnet phrase “give your head a wobble?!” 😂😂😂😂

FeistyFrankie · 13/07/2026 14:18

You are infantilising your daughter. A far bigger problem, imo.

User636373644333 · 13/07/2026 14:18

Barely an age gap. If I was your daughter, you’d hate my 13 year gap, I was 20 (a month of 21 if it makes a difference) and 33, now we are 34 and 47!’

Dobbyismyabsolutefav · 13/07/2026 14:19

I think you need to give your head a wobble OP. I have a similar age DD and whilst I might raise an eyebrow to her dating someone who is just about to turn 30 in reality it is a 7 year age gap. Is your DD mature for her age, how does this new boyfriend treat her this what I would focus on.

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 13/07/2026 14:25

My husband is 7/8 years older than me. Met when I was 19 and him 26, married 25 years.

EmmaOfNormandy · 13/07/2026 14:25

Oh ! The humanity !

ThisWiseRobin · 13/07/2026 14:25

Are you crazy? Your daughter has found a straight single 30 year old, presumably with a job.....I would be rejoicing. Dont be so silly.

RudePhthaloDalmadoodle · 13/07/2026 14:25

You're not being ridiculous to have concerns, just be realistic and try not to jump to conclusions. Although it's true that he's not middle aged (unless you're in Scotland), 7 years can seem like a large gap at age 22. However, it's her choice who to date and nothing you can (or should) do about it. Have you met him, had a chance to get to know him a little bit and see how they interact? Are they at similar stages of life - just for example both finished with school, working, no children - or is there some other discrepancy besides age that's making you think the relationship might be or feel unequal?

Jenpen31 · 13/07/2026 14:27

Is this for real? 30 is not middle aged.
Also this is your daughter life not yours!!!

LooksLikeIPickedTheWrongWeekToQuitDrinking · 13/07/2026 14:27

She’s “so young” but 7 years older is middle aged? 🤪

Absolutely ridiculous.

adamduritzvocalchords · 13/07/2026 14:28

I was 23 when I met my 29 year old partner. 36 years later we are still together and happy

You need to correct your typos. I assume you mean 50, or 60? Otherwise you are batshit, I'm afraid!!

30 isn't middle aged i expected at least 40 ,Your dd is a grown woman it 7/8 years difference calm yourself!

As an aside what is it with posters trying to convince us 30 is "old"

Parcelpass · 13/07/2026 14:30

Victorius19 · 13/07/2026 13:19

DH was 29 when we met, I was 19 and my Mum was less than impressed I have to say. I was a young 19, he was running his own business and had his own house. She felt that I'd miss out on certain experiences by going out with someone who'd already done what I hadn't.

She was entirely right, I so wish I'd listened.

Are you still together? Assuming you are. I think 19 and 29 is too big of an age gap. I think OP is OTT but on the other hand I think its more than enough of an age gap for her DD too.

chocoluv · 13/07/2026 14:32

So when she’s 23 she’ll be dating a 29yo

Stop treating her like a child.

Are you jealous of her?

Phonicshaskilledmeoff · 13/07/2026 14:33

I’m devastated to learn I’m elderly in my late 30’s

Lomonald · 13/07/2026 14:33

Although it's true that he's not middle aged (unless you're in Scotland)

Eh what?

PoliteSquid · 13/07/2026 14:33

At age 45ish my BIL had an affair/dated a 23 year old. That was appalling. He was married and she was 22 years younger than him.

A 7 year gap between two single people in their 20s is not appalling!

Jk987 · 13/07/2026 14:33

So she’s 23 and he’s 29 so a 6 year age gap? By your logic your daughter will be middle aged in 6 years time so all will be fine.

Nadilla · 13/07/2026 14:33

I wouldn’t love it. But it is not the worst example of age gap horrors.

Liqorishlaces · 13/07/2026 14:34

She’s 22 a grown adult. He’s 30 so hopefully has matured and ready to settle down . Leave them to it .

We've been happily married for over 30 years.
Also, you've posted about this before and got the same answers, so let it go.

Dollymylove · 13/07/2026 14:37
