As the title says. And me and my 16 y o daughter wipe it up as we don’t want to sit on it or have it touch our legs or feet (if splashed on the floor) and it’s not water as it’s yellow.
Sometimes there is small bits of poo on the floor and he says that is also normal and that all men have issues with aim etc and the poo is a mistake...
We clean it as we share a bathroom and we prefer it clean.
He asked me to post here and says he is a standard man when it comes to this. He’s 53.

IABU - for flagging it
NBU - for flagging it

We have argued many times about it. He said “post on Mumsnet”

Well tell him this mumsnetter has a DH who is 68 and he has never left the bathroom in that state for me and DD to find. Also, when it comes to dividing household chores, DH usually does the bathrooms and makes a damn good job of it.

Your DH sounds like a dirty, lazy bastard.

I am extremely upset about the effect on her.

Obviously not enough if she's continuing to have to clean up after this vile man.

Honestly it's the most disgusting thing I've read on here in a long time and I really hope you're trolling.

FFSItsTooHot · Yesterday 02:08

He sounds disgusting. Peeing on the floor and toilet seat is bad enough, but just leaving it and expecting someone else to clear it up is breathtakingly arrogant.

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · Yesterday 03:17

Hello OP's DH.

Adding up sons/stepsons, fathers/FILs, partners and husbands, housemates, visiting family etc I have lived with a LOT of men. Some of them don't have perfect vision.

None have ever left shit on the floor. Very occasionally, 1 or 2 of them have left the odd droplet of wee. The difference between them and you is that when it was brought to their attention, they were mortified and undertook to do better in future. They didn't double down and act like it's not a problem.

TLDR you are filthy and feral, and you have no respect for your wife and daughter.

Goldengirl123 · Yesterday 14:05

Absolutely not normal?’! That’s disgusting!

Winefride · Yesterday 14:07

DH says not normal. HTH.

BauhausOfEliott · Yesterday 14:30

None of the men in my life have routinely done this. It's not remotely normal. Maybe they might get a little drip on the seat or something occasionally? But a normal bloke would wipe it up instead of leaving someone else to do it.

Honestly, I cannot imagine living with some grubby bastard who a) couldn't control his own piss and b) expected his wife and daughter to clean it up. Utterly gross.

I have absolutely no idea how he's managing to get shit on the floor!

He says it’s accidental and that he can’t see it as he doesn’t have his glasses on

Yeah, that's bullshit. If his eyesight was so bad he can't even see where he's pissing, he wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING without his glasses on. If he's walking around doing other stuff without his specs, he can definitely see to have a slash.

He says it’s accidental and that he can’t see it as he doesn’t have his glasses on

He needs to sit down to piss. Both my teenage son and DH sit down. I am not cleaning up piss for anyone.

Boxoffrogs21 · Yesterday 14:39

It is not normal AT ALL. It’s gross and he’s pathetic for thinking that other men are doing what he’s doing. He should be embarrassed that he can’t use a toilet properly at his age. (I guess the occasional drip on the rim - not the seat - is probably inevitable but he should clean it up immediately.)

He says it’s accidental and that he can’t see it as he doesn’t have his glasses on

Oh fuck this. Get him a magnifying glass and chain it to the toilet so that he can use it to aim his penis, the one he cant see without glasses on.
Better still put it in a pot on top of the toilet with a message on it.
" Do not remove from toilet as husband cant see his penis without it and pisses on the floor"
It stays until he keeps the floor and seat clean.

Saltysweetspicy · Yesterday 14:48

I've been married 15 years and I have never had to wipe up wee off the seat - or the FLOOR!!! I also have a teenage boy! So no... this ain't it.

Saltysweetspicy · Yesterday 14:50

"Sometimes there is small bits of poo on the floor and he says that is also normal and that all men have issues with aim etc and the poo is a mistake..."

Issues with aim? Is he standing up to shit? I couldn't live with this

Justchillinhere · Yesterday 14:57

Beyond disgusting, I've never had to watch where I stand or check the toilet seat in my house or anyone else's. I'd send him out to the field permanently

He says it’s accidental and that he can’t see it as he doesn’t have his glasses on

Why doesnt he put his glasses on?

Or sit down?

JHound · Yesterday 15:03

I would never have married this man in the first place.

Julytrees · 12/07/2026 21:44

He says it’s accidental and that he can’t see it as he doesn’t have his glasses on

Well, if he can't see what he's doing, he should give it all a quick wipe just in case

Elsvieta · Yesterday 15:31

Make him clean it, every time. Wake him up if necessary. He'll soon start being more careful. Does he do this at work and leave it for colleagues? In other people's houses?

Workingonweekendssuck · Yesterday 18:13

He is disgusting, how he thinks this is normal is beyond me. Does he do the same at work, in restaurants etc? it can’t be that hard to aim and if he’s so useless that he can’t even do that right, he can surely clean up his own mess.

Fireangels · Yesterday 18:25

Julytrees · 12/07/2026 21:44

He says it’s accidental and that he can’t see it as he doesn’t have his glasses on

Not the same, I know, but my DH leaves whiskers and soap scum in the sink after he’s shaved because he ‘didn’t see it because I wasn’t wearing my glasses’
I told him to always rinse the sink regardless of whether he thought he needed to or not.
maybe you could leave some detol wipes on top of the loo and tell him to use them to wipe down every time he uses the loo. Hopefully it’ll become a habit!

notatinydancer · Yesterday 18:27

Not normal at all. I can MAYBE understand a misfire of wee but fucking wipe it up. Poo - absolutely no way.

RachelGreep87 · Yesterday 18:31

YABVVVVU for marrying him

Naunet · Yesterday 18:55

He's disgusting, he sounds like he belongs in a zoo. How he expects you to feel any sexual desire for him, I dont know

monkeysox · Yesterday 18:56

Julytrees · 12/07/2026 20:27

It is mainly on the rim (as the seat is left up) but he flushes with the lid open so I see it and wipe it as when I sit down the wee touches my thigh from the side of the rim.

He asked me to post this as he says most men do sprinkle and get it on toilet or floor.

Am not making this up!!

Edited

Hes a dirty bastard and needs to clean up after himself

Flailingaroundatlife · Yesterday 18:57

This is so horrendous. Poor you, but more importantly, your poor daughter! My just turned 5 year old ALWAYS ALWAYS wipes the seat / floor if he spills... and has recently started doing it without me even reminding him!!!!

Oh. Does your grown- up husband wash his hands every time, too? Nah, thought not.

Well, tell him my 2 year old does (even without a reminder).

Oh, and of course my husband never leaves it in anything less than a perfect state, because he is an adult with fully functioning cognitive ability. So I wasn't even going to mention him, to be honest.

Does your husband manage to hold down any kind of job? If yes, then he can sort it out, no matter if it's a mistake/normal!!
