Watermelon is a nuisance and a let down

A nuisance and a let down

Too heavy to carry easily when shopping

Too unweildy to handle without looking like Stan Laurel (one for the young 'uns there)

Once home, dont really have a chopping board big enough to have enough space

Water everywhere, all over the chopping board and spilling over onto the worktops

Then the thing is tasteless

Then I cant fit the leftovers in the fridge properly

And I bought the smallest one I could find.

DS has discovered that you can hack a watermelon in half and scoop it out like a giant egg. Less mess than chopping wedges for a ravenous teen.

I store the other half in the fridge using a cereal bowl as a stand.

They sold you a rubbish one. Our green grocers sells them in slices. Much easier.
