Would you offer a lift in this situation?

If a friend who lives close to you is having a birthday party close by, and your other friends are coming too, but they live a 45 minute drive away, would you offer to go and pick them up and give them a lift to the party?

No

ScrambledEggs12 · Today 10:33

No, I'd walk so I could have a drink.

GordanoServices · Today 10:34

No.

Livpool · Today 10:34

I don’t even drive but no! I have gotten texts that far before - just one of those things for them.

Candleabra · Today 10:35

I assume they’ve asked you to pick them up. A 1.5 hr round trip completely out of your way? Absolutely not.

happidayss · Today 10:35

No. Why would you? I’ve never expected a lift if I live further away. Grown ups can get themselves to things.

ColdAsAWitches · Today 10:36

No. Why would you?

redskyAtNigh · Today 10:36

A 45 minute drive away - so 1.5 hours round trip? no, far too far for a casual favour; I'd only do that if they had gone above and beyond for me in the past and had no other sensible option.

I'd probably offer that they could stay overnight so they didn't have to make their way home after the party though.

lulubalu · Today 10:36

1.5 hour round trip would be a hard no from me and I don't usually mind giving lifts

NoTouch · Today 10:36

If we had a history of doing similar favours for each other yes. Otherwise no.

DozyCrow · Today 10:38

If they were 10 or 15 minutes I might, but not 45 minutes. They can club together and get a cab if public transport isn't an option.

Mum2Fergus · Today 10:38

No. I assume they are adults capable of making their own travel arrangements.

Error404FucksNotFound · Today 10:39

No.

FinallyMovingHouse · Today 10:39

Nope

HelloCheekyCat · Today 10:43

Not a chance
If it was on your way of slightly out of your way maybe but not when t he party is close to you

DachshundThruTheSn0w · Today 10:44

Absolutely not.

HereForFootie · Today 10:44

No, I'd be hoping they'd offer to pick me up in their way!

GoodbyeZebedee · Today 10:45

Definitely not.

GSolis · Today 10:46

Thank you everyone 👍🏻

OttersOnAPlane · Today 10:47

Heck no! What would it have to do with you?

PuppyMonkey · Today 10:48

Ha. Is that all we’re getting OP? Grin

Happyjoe · Today 10:48

No, too far. Unless really really good friends and you all go above and beyond to help each other as a norm.

Notthebenicecrew · Today 10:49

No

CastleCrasher · Today 10:50

Definitely not. If I was the far away friend I'd probably offer to pick up the friend that lives closer on my way, but definitely not the other way around. Why do they think you should? (Willing to bet this is family, but friends)

Friendlygingercat · Today 10:51

Not if it means you can have a drink. There are these things called taxis.
