Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

He had Makerfield specific ones

https://countbinface.com/makerfieldmanifesto

I'm sure he'll come up with Clacton ones, give the man a chance

I've seen worse....

As for Reform paying for the election he will know full well thats against parlimentry rules..so another empty gesture .

Oh the irony

Thank you for the link.

I'd probably donate to a campaign if anyone knows of one - where its transparent how much money has been raised. He had a Go Fund Me set up for London.

BoredZelda · Today 11:43

I always recoiled at Count Binface, thought he was making a mockery of the whole thing, but I heard him on Radio 4 this morning, and he sounds like a pretty decent guy. I’d vote for him if I lived in Clacton.

The "believers" sentence got me. It's fully 1930's Germany / US ICE stuff.

This is what Reform won on where I live, "stop the boats, stop the boats" - click bait for those that can't, or won't, see there are other huge issues. Ukraine have been at War since February 2022, what's happening in Palestine. No other policies highlighted but, hey - "stop the boats" -

Reform are pro-fracking too.

(edited to add - Reform on that leaflet referring to themselves "The Brexit Party" is nuts! The waste of ££££ on that nonsense)"

Edited

Reform won in my local council elections
The leader who was all about "supporting the local people" is buggering off to Clacton now to support Nigel, disappeared off to Makersfield for that election and keeps missing important council meetings where they would actually support the local community
I dread to think what they'd be like as an MP

NotTerfNorCis · Today 11:45

I'd vote Binface.

If all the anti-farage people do, he has a genuine chance at winning.

Can't imagine he wants to, though! How would he deliver on his promises?

There is a precedent of sorts.

H'Angus the Monkey stood for Hartlepool Mayor and was elected (beating a political ally of Peter Mandelson). He took the job seriously and was re-elected.

He included a policy of free bananas for school lunches, Count Binface has low cost ice creams.

ZestyDog · Today 11:50

Apologies if this is a dumb question or answered elsewhere, but why aren't Labour/Conservatives etc putting in a candidate?

plomh · Today 11:50

Limeandfigs · Today 11:32

In fairness to the people of Jaywick, it is an appallingly deprived area. I went once and honestly I couldn't have told you I was in England, it's like something out of the twilight zone. Huge levels of poverty and disability, huge levels of deterioration everywhere, very low levels of education and literacy... It's obvious why they feel completely left behind by so many of the main parties and why they'd be taken in by the snake oil salesman that is Farage who promises an Elysian future.

It was a shithole 80 years ago too

Havanananana · Today 11:51

I'm all for stopping the boats because they're dangerous and line the pockets of criminals.

Venture capitalists, oligarchs and their side-kicks arriving in private jets have done far more financial, social and environmental damage to the UK than a few thousand people arriving in rubber dinghies will ever do.

DjokovicsTowel · Today 11:54

ZestyDog · Today 11:50

Apologies if this is a dumb question or answered elsewhere, but why aren't Labour/Conservatives etc putting in a candidate?

Because they recognise its a farce and have said by not standing a candidate they are not supporting it

It also discredits Nigel's "if they elect me then the people have spoken and they want Reform" stance because if he wins without a "proper" opponent then it's meaningless

bosqueverde · Today 11:55

Is a joke MP really what the country needs right now?

Absolutely right and that's precisely the reason to vote for binface!

QuantumQuibbler · Today 11:59

ZestyDog · Today 11:50

Apologies if this is a dumb question or answered elsewhere, but why aren't Labour/Conservatives etc putting in a candidate?

Because then it would be a real contest. If Nigel wins its not much of a victory if none of the other major parties stand. They can save their effort and money for a serious by-election if that happens after the investigation.

Which is why Binface running is perfect. Electing him - an anti-establishment figure - would result in Farage losing his seat to someone who is literally saying vote for me because "I'm not Farage".

AnyDayNowChuckJacksonNSoul · Today 11:59

The believers think it just brown people that are the targets.
Think again hope you're all looking forward to UK employment law being a thing of the past
Reform are for big business and their rich mates.

The precident is Danish comedian Jacob Haugaard, who was elected to the Danish Parliament in 1994 on a manifesto that included more tailwind on cycle paths, better weather, Nutella in army ration packs (which actually happened), and shorter queues in supermarkets.

After being panned by the established parties for his clearly absurd campaign promises, he used his maiden speech in Parliament to list a number of policies and promises made by the establihed parties, none of which had ever been fulfilled, finishing by stating that given the records of these parties in not delivering what they promised, the electorate could be justified in concluding that these politicians were nothing more than a complete bunch of liars.

IonianNerveGrip · Today 12:02

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · Today 11:37

Those are mixed in with other policies BUT I do actually find the manifesto interesting in amongst all the jokes. It does point to some pretty good priorities - nurses pay, workable public transport and affordable housing. It’s not just a joke.

The best joke candidate manifestos often do!

From the link

"I donated all profits from my London mayor campaign to charity, but I'd love to be able to keep fighting the intergalactic fight."

Is a joke MP really what the country needs right now?

Could be no worse than Farage and be probably a lot better constituency MP. judging by what Binface himself has said. All Farage has ever done is take the money and run.

Limeandfigs · Today 12:06

plomh · Today 11:50

It was a shithole 80 years ago too

Well what else would you expect when you have a permanent population, displaced by bombing in the East End, living in what was only ever supposed to be temporary holiday accommodation?

They're little more than big beach huts which are rapidly getting on for 100 years old.

They only got proper sewerage in the 1970s and they've got the highest flood risk in the country.

It's nothing more than a strongly established favela - it was doomed from the start.

Lonelycrab · Today 12:07

I think there’s more than a slim chance Binface might do it. Farridge won at the GE with less than half the votes cast and a 58% turnout.
If all those that voted in 2024 for parties other than reform unite in voting Binface, Binface will win!

Please please please good people of Clacton make it happen 🙏🙏🙏

GO COUNT BIN FACE!

The Official Monster Raving Loony Party campaigned for the vote at 18, pet passports, all day pub opening and wheelchair ramps on buses, as an example.
