AIBU with my reaction to DP’s humiliating TikTok?

Weeks76 · Yesterday 22:00

I have had 4 different friends message me today to say they saw a video which included my partner on TikTok. There’s a local account which always posts videos of interviews with the public and businesses particularly people on nights out and drunk. DP watched the England game in a bar so was out really late, and was interviewed on the street after. Everyone was really jubilant, the person filming asked him “after such a long night, do you have anything left in the tank” and he replied “that’s for me to know and the missus to find out when I’m home” to a load of laughter.

I was asleep with our DS and up early so I obviously wasn’t waiting up for him. I’ve told him I don’t see the funny side and he has just said he was absolutely plastered, really buzzing after the match and got carried away so I should just laugh it off. Am I wrong to still find it offensive?

What's a 'no pants dance' ?

Fucking.

Zanatdy · Today 02:46

Over reaction.

Winefride · Today 02:47

I would find it hilarious and be thankful he referred to me and not a girlfriend or something!

S0upertrooper · Today 03:30

I thought his comment was quite witty, I'd have probably replied to my friends "Aye, all talk no action!"

I have a relative who takes offence at every comment and as a result falls out with everyone. She's really hard work as you have to be hyper vigilant around her. Are you like this with other people's comments?

SpidersAreShitheads · Today 03:43

I would find this hilarious and would do my best (with my very limited technical skills) to clip the video to make memes and GIFs out of it, so he could never, ever be allowed to forget when he made a tit of himself publicly while a bit pissed 😂😂😂

No one is seriously picturing you having sex 😂😂

labamba007 · Today 03:57

This is why I detest people interviewing drunk people on nights out. It’s why Gen Z can never relax properly in a club or bar. Sometimes people say silly things when drunk. My anger would be towards the dickhead with the phone who’s making money off trying to embarrass people having a good time. I honestly hate it.

Copperoliverbear · Today 04:01

over reacting comes to mind.

I can’t get over the cringe of them having the mental image of me doing the no pants dance to be honest!

Blimey don’t say that to your friends. They won’t be able to get that image out of their heads.

PumpkinPieAlibi · Today 04:36

And I thought I was prudish.

  1. The 'no pants dance' sounds utterly ridiculous. You can say sex, it's not vulgar
  2. Everyone knows you've had sex, you have a child
  3. No one is picturing you having sex. That's a you problem
  4. Yes you are overreacting to this issue
  5. You were also overreacting by implying another poster saw your post as wank fodder. Again, people don't care that much and they're not thinking of you that intensely
  6. Lighten up. Life is hard enough as it is

Gosh you’re miserable. Poor DH

He’s a disgusting pig.

Hahaha

Rhubarbsoap · Today 05:56

No pants dance sounds like something a toddler would do. Put their pants on their head and run around or something.

Cant believe those words came out of an adults mouth tbh. 😂

YRGAM · Today 06:07

Posters have started to be unnecessarily harsh now once they smell a pile on, as usual. But a few things you've written in thus thread suggests you might have some hang ups and attitudes to sex that aren't particularly healthy, OP, that might be something to work on

Happytaytos · Today 06:38

No pants dance proves the OP is the one with issues.

He's done nothing wrong. It's all these muppets filming everything at all times, normalising taking away our human right to live a private life (i.e. to not be famous). Direct your anger at the people recording and uploading, not at him.

Honestly, this. It pisses me off.

You have a kid. Your friends know you've had sex.

rwalker · Today 06:45

I think a lot of your feelings and reaction comes from the fact your friend messaged you setting the tone it’s something outrageous
the overwhelming majority find it funny
tbh the only shitty thing is your friend messaging you causing trouble

JustMyView13 · Today 06:51

Lean into the moment and just reply with ‘I can confirm he did not have anything left in the tank and passed out as soon as he got home’ - spins the laugh straight back onto him.

Bringemout · Today 06:54

I’d be like “fool” but it is a bit funny especially if he’s generally a good bloke.

What you said there is more cringe than what he said.

ClaredeBear · Today 07:03

I think it’s cringey and devoid of wit. I wouldn’t be angry…but I might think slightly less of him.

Blueseudeshoes · Today 07:08

Just abit of a joke isn’t it? I’d probably laugh and if anyone had come to me who we knew and tried to make me feel embarrassed about his joke i’d of told them to lighten up

don’t take it to heart just roll your eyes if you got the ick with it, he’s just been abit silly drunk

It amazes me how uptight some women are on here regarding sex. It was a joke.

Yes it’s cringeworthy. Honestly, football seems to just bring out a new level of chest beating wankerism in every man. I cringe every time I see children at schools being encouraged to stay up late and adhere to the ridiculous tribalism centred around a few blokes kicking a bag of air round a field trying to kick it between two screeerd up jumpers/posts. If only such emerge could be channelled into something useful.

Tell him he’ll be training solo for a while and to enjoy playing with his own balls. You will not be helping him with his dribbling skills anytime soon. Leave him to be the wanker he’s shown himself to be. Give him a three match ban, leave him to deal with childcare and make some plans for yourself Saturdsy might

England’s playing Saturday night…

Yellow2024 · Today 07:20

I would add a comment that he didn't get lucky that night. Then I would take the piss out him for years to come.
