AIBU with my reaction to DP’s humiliating TikTok?

I have had 4 different friends message me today to say they saw a video which included my partner on TikTok. There’s a local account which always posts videos of interviews with the public and businesses particularly people on nights out and drunk. DP watched the England game in a bar so was out really late, and was interviewed on the street after. Everyone was really jubilant, the person filming asked him “after such a long night, do you have anything left in the tank” and he replied “that’s for me to know and the missus to find out when I’m home” to a load of laughter.

I was asleep with our DS and up early so I obviously wasn’t waiting up for him. I’ve told him I don’t see the funny side and he has just said he was absolutely plastered, really buzzing after the match and got carried away so I should just laugh it off. Am I wrong to still find it offensive?

I first want to set the scene by saying that if there is a man-hating feminazi-meter with 'cool girl' at one end and 'raging menopausal bitch' at the other, I'm well into the red zone for the latter.

I wouldn't be offended by this though. I'm not 'howling' like a pp Hmm but it really wouldn't bother me at all.

I’d find this funny! It’s clearly a joke and your friends will think the same.. what did you expect him to say to that question? I think you need to lighten up!

Yabu

Chucklebunnie · Yesterday 22:34

Oh, OP, I was expecting something awful when I started reading your post! You are completely overreacting. Let it go

Jellylasagnafortwo · Yesterday 22:35

He’s a disgusting pig.

harriethoyle · Yesterday 22:35

You’re being unbelievably precious. Lighten up.

ThatJadeLion · Yesterday 22:36

I don't usually like banter like this, but it made me laugh!!

Monzo1ss · Yesterday 22:36

I wouldn’t care if friends saw this tbh, having a decent intimate life is fine

i would care if colleagues saw that tho

in fact that would be my angle to get this taken down, so maybe just say if my/your colleagues stumble across this it makes us look less promotable or whatever

supersonicginandtonic · Yesterday 22:37

😂😂😂😂 something my husband would say

SixAndJuliet · Yesterday 22:40

It was just a joke. You didn’t find it funny which is fine but it’s more of an eye roll situation than an anger situation.

RockinCara · Yesterday 22:41

I think he was clearly pissed and overtired. Trying to be funny. Made himself look like a bit of a tit! I’d cringed a bit, rolled my eyes and then got over it.

Awrite · Yesterday 22:41

I think I'd judge my friends more for being on TikTok.

CloudyWithAChanceOfCustard · Yesterday 22:42

Oh dear OP…you really need to chill out a bit!! This was funny 🤷‍♀️👌🏻

JLou08 · Yesterday 22:44

I think it's funny.
Did your friends find it funny?

I can’t get over the cringe of them having the mental image of me doing the no pants dance to be honest!

Can imagine it's something my partner would say with a camera on him, and he doesn't drink 😆. I don't understand what's so cringe or embarrassing.

I think that's your issue then. I don't think anyone else would be thinking of you having sex from him saying that?
Do you hide your child away? That's the biggest clue and proof you've had sex! 😆

MajorSamanthaCarter · Yesterday 22:51

Another 'man makes inappropriate comment and calls it a joke' thread, we've had quite a few of those lately 🤔

What's a 'no pants dance' ?

The fact that you think that they would think this suggests you have very peculiar reactions indeed

I'm not sure if it was intended, but that made me laugh too 😂
I'm sure they won't have that image of you in their heads.

Violinorbanjo · Yesterday 22:57

I might be old and from a bit of chauvinist culture but boy, or man or woman, we have literally someone making others laugh and drunk....forgive him

Do you get a mental image of people having sex whenever it is referenced? I can’t say I have ever imagined friends having sex with their partners even when they allude to it. How did you have a child if you couldn’t cope with the idea of your friends knowing you’d had sex - surely the pregnancy was a big clue and a far more explicit one than your DH’s jokey comment!

If you think people are conspiring up mental images of you and your DP having sex then honestly I think that is a you problem!

susiedaisy1912 · Yesterday 22:59

Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest, it was a silly drunken remark. Loosen up op

Beachtastic · Yesterday 22:59

Love him 💕
