I mean really, this is just pathetic. No one is believing that KC couldn’t find a spare bed for his son. AIBU to think that as the parent KC needs to get a grip and grow up instead of just fuelling the drama?

Buckingham Palace says Prince Harry will not stay at palace

Royal sources say the Duke of Sussex had not responded to the offer of accommodation at a Royal residence by the deadline last week.

Thanks, Jeff. I think it does bear repeating 👍

I can continue! 😁

Yes. Why do people think they know better than the security services?

I’ve no idea, because as if 🙄

Andrew was the queen’s son , the deceased kings grandson . Born into a monarchy. This cannot be denied as much as the haters would like him cut off from his past connections.

Exactly.

lightseeker · 06/07/2026 23:41

We can all speculate, but nobody knows what's going on within that family, let's be honest. It's clearly very dysfunctional though.

I thought Harry was told years ago that security funded by taxpayers would not be available to him if he was no longer an official Royal. It is what it is, I guess.,

As far as anyone can tell, that position has never changed. So why is Harry, on this trip, claiming to be shocked about the situation??

It's peculiar, it's like his memory has completely gone.
He knew full well what would happen if he moved away, but he keeps getting angry about his own decision.

Well she got it because she is Taylor Swift and there was credible threat against her, because of who she is. However most of this thread reads that only the RF get protection.

For goodness sake, her Austria concert was cancelled due to a credible terrorist threat, the security in London was also because of a credible terrorist threat, the security is not just for TS but also for public safety.

The press were always about they always will be about but they could have been better protected Harry has spoken about how miserable he was they needed real love (they have two sides of a family not one) and support around them not staff

and yes parading them about in public so we could all see them grieving was utterly shameful I look back at this with utter disbelief that this happened

The Queen and Prince Phillip wanted them to stay at Balmoral, protected from it all but no, the great British public had their pitchforks out and demanded they come back to London, I remember the headlines at the time whipping everyone into a fury.

Yes. The late Queen had to give in. She wanted the boys to stay at Balmoral but every day the headlines were whipping it up, demanding they come back to London.

It’s frankly disgusting isn’t it to use Taylor Swift in relation to Harry’s security, for fucks sake her Wembley concert could have been another Manchester, little girls were stabbed to death in Southport and we have posters bleating about poor ickle Harry, shameful.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 07/07/2026 00:17

Doesn’t suit the narrative being peddled as fact on here but here are some actual facts.

Prince Philip protected and comforted Princes William and Harry at Balmoral following Diana's death in 1997 by shielding them from the media, engaging them with outdoor activities, and fiercely advocating for their privacy and emotional well-being during the funeral arrangements
His specific protective measures included:
Outdoor Distractions: Philip, who had effectively lost his own mother at age ten, provided "gruff tenderness" and wore the grieving boys (then 15 and 12) out with physical outdoor activities like hiking and stalking on the estate Express.
Defending Their Privacy: He strongly shielded the princes from the intense public hysteria. When officials initially pushed for the young boys to walk in the funeral procession, Philip reportedly shut it down, saying they needed space to grieve their mother first
Funeral Pact: To help his grandsons face the intense global scrutiny of the funeral procession, Philip offered them profound support by walking alongside them and promising, "If you'll do it, I'll do it

Newname26 · 07/07/2026 00:44

I had no idea what Philips childhood had been like until he died.
Horrendous what he went through.

Diana's funeral was bad, his sisters and children must have been horrific. Diana's must have brought back his own horrific memories.

Btw I also had not idea how close he was to the WWF or the award scheme I always assumed it was just named that not he was the driving force behind it.

I only learned this information after he died too.
I know that he had a reputation for having a nasty tongue at times, he seemed to be a lovely grandfather and supportive husband to the Qieen.

He was told he needed to confirm by Friday to get everything in place. He didn’t then made an announcement on Monday to say he would be going even though he knew he has missed the date and it was too late to sort things.

this one is fully on Harry IMO. He is an adult and has to take some responsibility for his actions

What's he problem with a late confirmation though?

Not enough lackeys to get the spare bed ready?
Not enough spare bedding?
Everyone would be gone to bed and the place locked up for the night if he sent his reply after business hours on Friday?

It all.looks very cold and very odd, and I don't think the King comes off looking like father of the year, to be honest.

That all sounds like the exact opposite of anything a mental health professional would have advocated.

He was clearly raised by wolves.

Moving away hasn't made him any less of a target, and it's strange that that isn't appreciated by those in a position to sign whatever paperwork would be necessary to provide appropriate protection.

Lack of appropriate protection funded by the British taxpayer/ reliance on the Fayed drivers and bodyguards ended very badly for the mother and grandmother of two future kings after all.

Princess Anne is the the deceased queen's daughter and the king's sister.
Prince Edward is the late queen's son and the king's brother.
They get the same level of protection that is being offered to Harry. Only one of the three thinks it's not good enough.

You clearly haven’t read the thread which explains why it’s a problem or you are wilfully ignoring the many many posts explaining why it isn’t just a case of making up a spare bed.

You clearly know absolutely nothing about how security is dealt with in this country and for future reference Diana refused Met security which was issued to her.
