I mean really, this is just pathetic. No one is believing that KC couldn’t find a spare bed for his son. AIBU to think that as the parent KC needs to get a grip and grow up instead of just fuelling the drama?

Buckingham Palace says Prince Harry will not stay at palace

Royal sources say the Duke of Sussex had not responded to the offer of accommodation at a Royal residence by the deadline last week.

I think its pointless comparing Charles parenting skills to the average father. Charles himself was brought up by nannies and governesses. His mother was absent for large parts of his childhood especially during his formative years- he was born in 1948 and between 1949 and 1951, the queen lived in Malta while he was in the UK. She went on tours for months and months on end while he was at home. He's hardly going to be hands on, traditional father when he's had no blueprint for this himself. The royals simply dont operate the way we do as a family.

Even Diana for all her hugging in public was hardly mother of the year. She largely delegated childcare to nannies, sent both boys to boarding school at 8 and again went on lengthy foreign trips while her children were at home.

It's completely beside the point all these people saying "nothing would stop me seeing my grandchildren" and "why can't he just hop on a plane". Your average grandparent isn't a head of state let alone someone going through cancer treatment. "Hopping on a plane" as king involves high level of security planning across countries, the organisation of security staff, accommodation, flights etc. He isn't you and me. He can't just take himself off to Heathrow when he fancies and hope on the next jet to LA.

Royals dont live like we do. Everything is organised meticulously. It's the same for security. Prince Harry has his own security. He doesn't need it paid for. What he wants is tax payer funded Met office security 24/7 and it doesn't matter how rich Charles is, police officers aren't for sale. They can't be paid for by the King, or Harry or anyone no matter how much they want it.

He offered him Buck House and his spoilt brat did not reply and now expects it all sorted last minute with all the security and drama

It’s an absolute manufactured grievance. Another excuse for Harry to tell everyone he’s the black sheep.

He learned from the best!

Well Jimmy Savile was Charles chief advisor for 20 years, so what do we expect. Although Charles did find room, at Sandringham, for the pedophile Peter Ball, so there should be room somewhere, for his son. I wonder who Andrew notified that he'd invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace, seeing as so much prep is needed. Are we really buying this shit?

Definitely not buying it

Was Epstein not quite a planner ahead himself? He seems to have put a lot of effort into organisational matters.

Zanatdy · 06/07/2026 20:25

I’m sure they could find room for him at one of their many estates. You’d think Charles would want to see his grandchildren. A complex and difficult situation. Very sad it’s come to this.

Hmm that's a good point. They are all trying to say they had no idea what AMW was doing when he was inviting unsavoury characters on Royal holidays, not to mention the parade of prostitites through But ckingham Palace. If they need so much notice of visitors then they all must have known what was happening and ignored it.

I don’t think the children will ever come over to be honest.

It’s a nice easy thing to beat the family with.

Problem is for Harry they publicly don’t seem that fussed bring them or don’t they won’t be bribed basically.

His son wants things his way he is a grown man not a child, his father is probably distant but he isn't the one who's "team" says prince Harry expected an invite to Buckingham Palace.

The thing is, nobody lives in Buckingham Palace any more (except, presumably, the staff). The idiot boy must know this, so why would he expect to be invited there? It would be like me inviting someone to come and stay in my storage unit.

I have always presumed so.

I have voted yabu on the basis that all parties involved are awful and we shouldn’t give the royal family any oxygen 🤣

King Charles offered accommodation at Buckingham Palace but gave a deadline for Harry to reply by. Harry formally declined the accommodation on Saturday morning which was the deadline. Then he changed his mind, because he's Harry and this is what he always does, then announced today he would be staying at Buckingham Palace but King Charles staff put out announcements no he wouldn't because he declined and has now missed deadline. The staff have to have time to prep. I can't imagine Harry would make do with a single room and no staff to wait on him. Harry just loves creating a drama. It's the only way he knows to try to stay in the public eye. Princess Anne has been known to take a London bus with no drama at all.

Livelovebehappy · 06/07/2026 20:42

I just wish we could exile them, like they used to in the old days. I’m sure if Charles dug into the archives deep enough he could find a law or rule which could still be used. After all, Harry and Co committed treason with their selling stories and lies. Surely there’s something we could use to stop him coming…….

He's been offered a room and declined it.

I don't know Charles, none of us do but I imagine he wants to see his grandchildren. But I'm not sure why people are laying the blame at his feet. He's the King, head of state. He isn't your average grandparent Their family don't operate the way we do. If my mum wants to see my kids, she just hops in the car to do so. For Charles to make any sort of visit, involves security risk assessments, collaboration with multiple security agencies and payment and organisation of these security detail.

Harry's been clear he isn't bringing his family to the UK unless he has state funded 24/7 armed security. He isn't a working royal. He isn't entitled to this and there have been excellent posts on this in this thread explaining more detail about this. And met officers are a tax funded public body. They CANNOT BE BOUGHT no matter who you are King or not. So it's a completely moot point whether Charles wants to see them. Harry's already made it clear he isn't bringing his family over without the security he is neither entitled to or will get.

Rachelshair · 06/07/2026 20:47

It's all H and M drama to generate material for the next chapter of the Misery Memoirs. Where is the profit in a quiet family visit away from the spotlight? They can have that whenever they want, no security risks as no announcements, but that doesn't put money in the bank, does it?
H and M travel all around the world at will after all.. but only if it's something they can monetise.
It's really sad they've sacrificed their family relationships for their "brand". Harry is believing his own hype at this point, but the world has moved on. At some point you have to get over yourself, even as a prince. People are not that interested yet the media still keep flogging it.

But Charles can’t trust him. Can you imagine a scenario where a member of your family left the country for privacy, sold some interviews on you, wrote books about you, then a year or two down the line wanted to come back to spend time with you. You’d be terrified of speaking because you wouldn’t know if he was mic’d up getting more material for his next book. Works drying up. What’s a guy to do? William has the best idea. Don’t meet up with him then Harry has nothing to sell on him.

Where do you get such bullshit from? He wasnt chief anything he was a man who managed to wrangle his way into many people's lives everyone said he was charismatic or threatening depending on the circumstances many prolific criminals are

Gleba · 06/07/2026 20:52

Harry is a CF.

He should pay for his own security and accommodation. He's a millionaire.

Instead he's wasting everybody's time.

Savile was never Charles' cbhief advsor.

A large amount of preparation is needed because no-one lives in the palace. They don't keep an army of staff and security officers sitting around twiddling their fingers on the offchance that a guest might turn up. I assume when AMW was around he and others were living there at least some of the time, so making up one bedroom wasn't a big deal.

PropertyD · 06/07/2026 20:54

Harry strikes me as someone who is easily led. MM found he was able to be manipulated. She has fallen out with everyone. It’s her and he does what she wants. She came into the family and that beautiful wedding day was lovely. Then the stories came out about how tricky she was. The interview with Oprah was dreadful with made up
lies.

What on earth did MM think was going to happen. Then Spare came out with criticism of Camilla the love of his Father’s life. What if Camilla had written a book about MM.

Utter rubbish! KC has no time for Harry’s tantrums. I reckon he must find him an embarrassment.

I don’t understand why people aren’t getting it!
this has always been an open invitation to Harry , everytime he comes to the U.K. he’s offered bp as a place to stay , every single time he has refused and stayed in a hotel!
before his security tantrum he briefed the media with stories that bp wasn’t secure enough and he didn’t want to stay there , the palace kept reaching out to clarify if he was staying or not and finally said Friday was the deadline.
Harry sent a letter clarifying he wasn’t staying on Saturday !
then he suddenly briefs the press on Monday that he’s staying at bp without telling the palace!
obviously it’s far too late to organise things now particularly as he didn’t tell them he told the press!! 🤷‍♀️

Again louder for those in the back!
