To ask for a hoover that actually WORKS and will not SHOWER the floor with FILTH !

Having a quick hoover before work. Because we have the completely WORTHLESS shark, which spits and sprays the detritus out the back, all my revolting bits of dirt and grit went all over the floor in a fine mist of grot. I then trod on a shard of glass (c/o the Hoover) which I had to pull out my foot with tweezers. I wanted to be sick. Blood all over the carpet. NOT TOLERATING THIS WORTHLESS CORDLESS MACHINE A DAY LONGER !!!

My shark drops bits when I turn it off - bits of grit and any tiny hard bits. This is since new and definitely not associated with filters needing cleaning etc.
I just keep it running with head down on the floor and then when I’m by the bin, i turn it upside down before I turn it off so mess is dumped in the bin!

Its about 5 years old

Have you washed the filters and sponges? Mine did that only last week and that fixed it.

Mine’s a Miele C3 and it’s lovely.

I have got a cunt of a Dyson, a poor snivelling twat of a machine.

I wish there was a laugh react because that made me proper chuckle!

We have a Miele C3 cat and dog and it's been infinitely better than the previous useless Dyson.

I do need to cut hair off the roller regularly though (the pets and I shed a tonne). It also requires buying bags. But the suction is great.

I hate cordless for this reason. I love my trusty Henry hoover, I’ve had it over 20 years and it is fab.

Lorrymum · 26/06/2026 12:25

I hate my Dyson with a passion! It clogs, stops, spits and when I empty it I end up with dust covered hands.
I will eventually replace it but it was so expensive. I can't believe I fell for the hype.

My Shark must've been waiting for today to play up , I vacuumed the hall and it spat cat hair back.
Calmly unplugged it and took the roller bit out , lots of stuck fluff , checked all the hoses were clear .
Feel smug now

Ive tried just about every make of vacumn going and about 4 years ago bought a standard Henry! Can't praise it enough. I also have a cordless Henry Pet for quick clean ups. Yes, the pods aren't cheap so I don't use it for a major clean through. However, having the pods inside means it works so much better than a bagless vacumn
