To let you know the axe and machete girl WAS defending herself against her now convicted attacker.

A lot of posters here need to see the conclusion of this story about the clearly terrified child, that so many people were quick to be awful about. You all owe this extremely vulnerable child you participated in the defamation of, a massive fucking apology. I'm genuinely so angry about how so many grown women denigrated a hurt and scared child. Her fear was so evident in her voice and demeanor and so many mothers here were quick to throw her under a bus. Well you've all been proven wrong now, with the man she was trying to defend herself from found guilty of assault.

Honestly, just think about what you people did, defending a man who assaulted a child just because she was of a class you deem beneath you. I hope you're very, very ashamed and take stock before more girls like her suffer worse.

Romanian, you mean?

I’m not sure he is Romanian, mainly because he’s Bulgarian and there’s no information anywhere that suggests he has links to Romanians.

I haven’t gone? I was finishing work. Went to the tip too.

I did say I didn’t cheer the BLM riots. No need to make things up just because you thought I’d vanished.

sure maybe you’re being honest and you didn’t.
But there sure as hell are a lot of people who cheered on the riots in the name of an American convict shops looted statues smashed into rivers. But they want to lose their mind over wheely bins being knocked over in Southampton because people are angry a teenage boy was killed in this country.

Same people wanted stop and search stopped because they thought too many black boys were being stopped and it was racist. Now want to act like a little girl showing a knife to a predator to scare him off is the epitomy of knife crime.

Please enlighten me how George Floyd or BLM remotely relates to a single thing from my post that you chose to respond to.

At this point is this a coordinated thing? So many posters/ bots responding to comments basically “what about BLM huhhhb?” When it bares no relevance whatsoever to the post or topic being discussed.

Your 1st paragraph

Maybe take that up with “those people.”

It’s not the epitome of knife crime. But it is still carrying an offensive weapon, which is still a crime.

The dead man and his accomplice stole the man's watch in a street robbery - you are comparing the 12 year-old-girl with a gangland robber.

That is irrelevant to whether or not it is justified to kill the person who robbed you.

You can argue self defense if you think your life is at risk, not if you think your things will be taken. The guy in this case was granted self defense because the other man was armed and the defendant used the knife the other man was armed with to kill him.

That would be the same as a girl arming herself with an axe and then when she uses it against someone, they disarm her and use it against her instead. It would be the part where she attacked them, irrespective of motive, and then they defended themselves against her.

And again what do you think the girl should have done so far from you we have
a. Call the police. The same police that let Henry Nowak die because they were too focused on allegations of racism and anyway wouldn’t have gotten there in time

and b. Never letting your kid go anywhere alone. Implying people are bad parents for “letting their children hang out at parks” newsflash parks were built for children not creepy adult men. Let’s turn into Afghanistan where girls aren’t allowed out the house without a chaperone shall we?

Different police, really, because Scotland and Southampton are different places.

There is a world of possibility between your child carrying weapons, and being in Afghanistan.

If you genuinely believe that girls are unsafe to leave the house without their hatchet, we really are in trouble.

Have we got amnesia here? A few pages back you were gloating about your superior parenting and how you wouldn’t let your daughter go to the park on her own as if you’re somehow a better parent than someone who dosent chaperone their 12 year old daughter to every single destination

Coconutter24 · Yesterday 18:34

It’s quite scary you think it’s acceptable for someone (a child!) to carry an axe and a knife in her waistband.

Nope, still maintain that I definitely wouldn’t allow my 12 year old daughter (if I had one) to aimlessly wander about.

There are creepy men and kids with hatchets out there - why would I?

You accusing someone of having amnesia when you’re all over the thread insinuating what people are thinking or what they support is laughable.

Add me to the “perfect parents” who don’t want their kids going to the park when there are weird men about and kids with knives/machetes/hatchets/axes stuck down their trousers ✌🏻

Soulhorse · Yesterday 18:42

I know the area well unfortunately. Those 2 wee girls don’t stand a chance. Toothyblinders, you’re on a hiding to nothing, don’t you know by now that young white girls from crap environments are worthless and disposable? She reacted the way she did because she has had no decent parenting or role models. Learned behaviour for that environment - someone threatens you, you tool up. Probably in a twilight zone of benign neglect, not quite bad enough to warrant intervention up until that point.
The only hope they have is that they will be on the local SS radar now.

So you would walk your 12 year old daughter to school every day? You’d escort her to her meet her friends who lived near nearby and follow them around?
You are aware that’s rather unusual and she’d probably be extremely embarrassed?

So that’s your solution to all this ?parents never letting their children go anywhere alone ever even when they’re almost teenagers?

Nah wtf she had the knife and the axe already on her?

She sounds rough as toast 😑

Survivors of these types of men often are 'rough'

Or to put it, not rudely, working class.

Yanbu op, although i didnt see the thread you refer to.

So what do you your kids do? Just sit in their rooms playing computer games? How sad the price we pay to let in thousands of migrants and anyone who complains something happened to their kid just shouldn’t have ever let them out alone. Victim blaming at its finest

I’d probably drive her to school, and take her to things she’s doing with said friends rather than to the street corner said friends were on.

My solutions (not that I’m responsible for any) are actually multiple.

  1. We need to do something about creepy men.
  2. We need to do far, far better at keeping girls and women safe from violent and predatory men, of all backgrounds, in all environments.
  3. We need to intervene earlier and more effectively in deprived areas where potential for criminality is higher.
  4. We need better monitoring of vulnerable and at risk families, from a variety of services that could be far more effective.
  5. We need to raise aspirations in deprived areas so those kids don’t think all they’re worth is abuse, neglect and prison.
  6. Those of us who are able to need to expect better from our children than to allow them access to hatchets, and not normalise violence.
  7. Parents should keep their kids safe. Including, you guessed it, not allowing them access to unsafe environments or unsafe people (like peers with weapons)

You’ll have to forgive me for not having anything more substantial, it’s not actually my job, I do already have a different one.

Just migrants we have to worry about, is it?

Cool. Would never have known.

ArmySal · Yesterday 18:52

You’re more concerned with the migrant element of it aren’t you?
I’m concerned about ANY man saying things to my daughter, not just the migrant ones 🤔
Wow I really am a perfect parent.

You know there are more alternatives than staying in your room and going to the park don’t you?

FWIW I live near a nice park and there a families in there all the time.

It’s in Rochdale too, loads of non white people here. Regardless of where she was going, my 12 year old wouldn’t be going out with a weapon on her.

You the same poster who insinuated and said I didn’t know anything about the world just because I wasn’t dirt poor and my mum wouldn’t have let me be seen dead in holey shoes?

Kind of took offence to that won’t lie I moved out at 16 and been a mother since 16. Now the mother of 3 kids. I really don’t need someone lecturing me on my lack of life experience just because they had holes in their shoes

ChunkyMonkey36 · Yesterday 18:55

(Do your best Attenborough voice)

… and here, we have a person who didn’t grow up in or around poverty, thinking that all it is is empty bank accounts and holey shoes….

Yeah as am I which is why I’m not the one more concerned with waffling about why was a girl carrying a hatchet instead of asking why a grown man was asking her for sexy time and following her around d
