Live and work in England. Not English. My team didn’t qualify for the World Cup so I’m supporting Scotland! Lobe a plucky underdog, have some Scots heritage ( and some English to be fair) plus I NEVER support English sports teams. EVER.
Football has inevitably come up in the office and several colleagues are generally pissed off that I’m not supporting England, insist I should be etc etc. Stupidly I mentioned that I never support England … did not gone down well.
If you live here then you should etc etc

Well if your still in England in 30 years it will be 60 years of saltyness and longing for a country just a little ferry ride over the water.

The lyrics in the song referrd to the fact that foootball was coming home as in the Euro 96 tornament was being hosted in England the country that nvented it and that it been 30 years since the 1966 world cup which was also hosted in England.

I'm sorry OP and the rest of my ABE crowd but I switched sides for this match. DH is just so adorably excited so I had the DC cheering and Football Coming Home playing when he came in from work. I did say it would be so much more exciting seeing Spain beat them in the final.

There’s something strangely impressive about how England manage to consistently snatch defeat from the jaws of victory! They really do have it down to an art form at this point 🤫

Hatred of our country is beyond a joke especially by those who continue to reap the benefits in free health care. Harry Kane’s diving is hardly dignified IMHO. It’s embarrassing that a captain of a team behaves like that, hurling himself to the ground at every opportunity begging for free kicks.

Ain’t joggin on anywhere, I am a citizen, pay my taxes and vote and everything! I do have private healthcare though. And free healthcare in most EU countries so…
