AIBU to think teal is an awful choice for interiors?

The colour teal - it is the work of the devil!!! I have no idea why this colour is so popular because it is just GROSS 🤮

watching Interior Design Masters last night and was like ‘Sophie Noooooooo’.

Im not sure why I find it quite so appalling!
No offence if you’ve decorated your house in teal, I’m no interior designer and my home is pretty average but …. Shudder

I love teal and my living room is teal. it isn;t dark at all. The room is South facing and it is lovely. ONe wall (facing the window) is a darker colour called French turquoise and the other walls are morris blue (which is more green than blue)

The colour scheme is always complimented.

I love the colour teal but cannot bear any room painted in a strong colour. I have my kitchen painted in a very very light shade of teal - ie pale duck egg, and I love it.

the only pale colour I don’t like is yellow- sorry second poster! My entire house was painted in yellow when I bought it, including the outside, radiators, skirting boards and staircase - I’ve spent many years de-yellowing it.

I love teal

It gives me the shudders as an accent colour. One wall, or cushions, against a light background. work of the devil surely. very suburban Britain early 00s.
I agree, teal walls in a period home with traditional features can work but struggle to like it otherwise.

You'd hate our living room. Although it's more of a bright turquoise than a dark teal.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes.

My least favourite look is the shades of grey and white look- always winter and never Christmas as my husband calls it- closely followed by the sad beige look. I like colours.

Teal can look great. I didn’t like it in Sophie’s design although I loved the leopard print, although I also didn’t like Lia’s darker greens and thought her wall papered ceiling was awful.

Another yellow, orange and gold lover here. I had to SUFFER for 20-30 years until grey worked its way out of ubiquity. Still so much of it around. The colour of misery and wet concrete and drizzle and despair.
Teal is fine but that room looks awful.
