'Afghan men 'fled UK in lorry after raping girl'

Mobile phone footage recovered from Safi's phone showed the men in the lorry laughing and gesticulating, which Hetherington said suggested they thought they "got away with it".

When they were found by French police in Calais on 3 December, they were returned to the UK.
Hetherington said the trio had no travel documents or identification and had given false names to French authorities.
After their real names were checked on police systems, they were arrested on suspicion of rape.
Sali, of St Werburghs, denies one count of human trafficking and two charges of rape.
Habibkheil, of Lockleaze, denies one count of human trafficking and one charge of rape.
Ahmadzai, of Redcliffe, denies one charge of rape and one charge of assault by penetration.
The 16-year-old also denied one charge of rape.
The trial continues.'

Afghan men accused of fleeing UK after raping girl in Bristol

A jury is told three defendants left the country in a "deeply unusual" way after the alleged rape.

How is Sudan measuring the crimes? Have you followed any of the news about the conflict?

They are measured in the same way that England's is.

Yeah I have...men being violent again just as they are here. Will you be watching how many women and girls get abused over the next few weeks in the conflict here? Or minimise it by playing oppression olympics?

No they’re not measured in the same way. Can you listen to some women there? BBC World Service often covers the horrific situation they face.

I think you’re missing some basic news and information.

Lots of us get shut down by being called far right etc. when we dare to raise this issue. Enough is enough, and this open border policy has to end. When we've all got decent housing, jobs, schools and an NHS and police service that can cope then we can start letting people in.

How many more women have to be raped before this Government act?

Even thinking along those lines is absolutely disgusting. Humanity is falling apart.

The crimes of individual men are used to justify attacks on innocent men and especially, women. Including eventually SA. That's a story that's true through history. It's also what is going on in Sudan and other conflict zones. The people committing the crimes there will claim to be "protecting their communities". And unscrupulous people use it as a way to gain more power for themselves.
And it's also something Northern Ireland has a history of of course. But it's also being egged on by people who want to see the UK/EU fall into chaos.

Which is also why it's not fair that people trying to stop the demonisation of large groups of people are labelled as being far left, not listening, smug, stupid, in an ivory tower. It doesn't have to be any of those things.

Yeah I listened to some women there. Being raped and beaten and murdered there is just the same as being raped and beaten and murdered here.

Why is it fine here but awful there?

The government won't do anything to address the problem instead they are going to censor the internet to stop us noticing.

Massive censorship and internet ID requirements are coming over the next few months.

Are they???!! That’s the first I’ve heard of that. What’s their plan? Can you link?

What about all the white, home-grown rapists and domestic abusers? What do you suggest we do about them?

I’m happy for the rapists to be castrated and the domestic abusers to go to jail 👍

Shutting down the borders will not reduce many rapes as most rapists are British nationals who are raping in their homes.

What will reduce it is holding men to account and changing the way we as a country seem happy to let 99% of rapists walk free....yet no one seems to care this is purposely being done by the CPS....

51% of women wake up being raped in their own homes by their partner...that will still be 51% if we close the borders....

Why not ban men from living with women...that will stop most rapes...

What did your MP say about your idea to get rapists convicted....? Was he happy to make some changes to the policy or not? Did he say why this policy existed and why they have been happy to let it continue?

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 11/06/2026 11:27

Chocolatefreak · 11/06/2026 09:13

Agree.

A very worrying trend is that the Mumsnet demographic is now normalising the violent reaction to the Belfast beheading.

Reform's/Musks/Restore's rhetoric is being absorbed into the mainstream.. And the government, in an effort to placate the massive support for this uprising of horrific events, is failing to address it with proper long-term policies.

These sentiments are deeply, culturally rooted and it would take a generation of education and social policies to sort them out.

And there's seemingly no way the police can intervene effectively as the numbers just get bigger. It's just pure lawlessness dressed up as justifiable response.

The retaliatory actions are now treated as reasonable because ritualistic murders/attempted murder and gang rape are being treated by the government as an inconvenient byproduct to multiculturalism.

Gang rape is treated as a norm in the UK, it always was before the immigrants came so why would you expect it to change....

I mean our definition of CSE is victim blaming and always has been...but seems that the UK are happy with a definition that blames kids for being raped...

I mean, if ppl weren't accepting of this child victim blaming something would change...but it is yet to...

As gang rape has been the norm in the UK for the last century and probably before then....

So what did he say when you spoke to him about the policies and why has he let it continue for so long?

What is his plan to change the policies and why did it take you talking to him to make him action it?

Did he say why it has been allowed for so long and why no one in the UK has bothered about it?

Yes. 'Multiculturalism'.

Funny how it's only the West whose governments have been supporting 'multiculturalism' isn't it. Other countries - not so much.

Did you see the Euro bar chains in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran? Welcoming women and girls in western dress, serving cocktails, playing pop music, with books and cosy sofas all over the place? Locals clapping along waving the different flags of Europe? No? Weird me neither.

Oh god what a choice!

I know right? As if that was even asked...where would you like to be raped - here or there!

Shocking that ppl think it is not bad to be raped here and it is worse to be raped elsewhere....minimising rape here and saying it is not that bad...maybe because it is white men raping mostly here which is excused mostly in society.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 11/06/2026 11:33

I’d be happy to bring back capital punishment or send the resident criminals to the Russian border as common fodder. Save on sand bags.

Again it is much of a muchness eh?

Why do you think being raped by a British man is less of a crime than being raped by a Sudanese man?

Ok so is it a yes, you’d live in Sudan?

The conflict and terror is not much more to you. I bet it would make all the difference to the woman you swap with.
