'Afghan men 'fled UK in lorry after raping girl'

Mobile phone footage recovered from Safi's phone showed the men in the lorry laughing and gesticulating, which Hetherington said suggested they thought they "got away with it".

When they were found by French police in Calais on 3 December, they were returned to the UK.
Hetherington said the trio had no travel documents or identification and had given false names to French authorities.
After their real names were checked on police systems, they were arrested on suspicion of rape.
Sali, of St Werburghs, denies one count of human trafficking and two charges of rape.
Habibkheil, of Lockleaze, denies one count of human trafficking and one charge of rape.
Ahmadzai, of Redcliffe, denies one charge of rape and one charge of assault by penetration.
The 16-year-old also denied one charge of rape.
The trial continues.'

Afghan men accused of fleeing UK after raping girl in Bristol

A jury is told three defendants left the country in a "deeply unusual" way after the alleged rape.

Yes. The pp didn’t reflect the situation at all.

Yes I like Kemi more and more and she polls well but unfortunately there's little chance they'll be in power as the party itself isn't popular.

3 years to go.. A lot can happen in politics!

People are rioting because the government is failing to protect their citizens.
People voted for Brexit over immigration, which resulted in more immigration. Illegal immigrants of unknown origin are given leave to remain. There are a stream of sexual assaults, rapes, attempted murders and actual murders by immigrants.
The government is failing to keep their citizens safe.
Unfortunately now the tipping point has been reached, the populace are visibly unhappy.
Someone, maybe on this thread, pointed out that it’s a tiny number of immigrants committing the crimes, but that’s scant condolence to the victims.
Are they expected to just accept they were unlucky being raped by an illegal immigrant or alleged asylum seeker who should never have been free in the country anyway, and having their life ruined?

I’m surprised/not surprised that the government are just saying calm down and stop being racist.
The longer the government fail to tackle the issue, or if they are tackling the issue why aren’t they singing it from the rooftops, the closer we come to a Reform government.
I think it’s inevitable now, as the ‘illegals’ will be allowed to provide a steady stream of outrageous crimes by virtue of not being detained.
Labour still have time to turn this around.

Agree with most of your message. The bit about Labour turning it around though.. Labour are good a U-turns but that's about it I'm afraid.

Which makes you wonder why? Surely this is all about money. Backhanders. It’s not rocket science to sort out, it’s pretty simple really. So it means they don’t want to.

Ahh I missed the riots over those traveller rapists being let off with rape.

Seems the riots only happen when crimes are committed by perpetrators that look different to themselves.

If the perpetrators look like themselves they do not riot....kind of as though, they do not care....

OonaStubbs · 10/06/2026 22:19

British governments as a rule are useless at actually doing anything tangible. Their first reaction is always to call a meeting. And then another meeting about the first meeting. And then more meetings. And some time later maybe something gets done but generally something ineffective. We need a government of doers, not talkers, capable of taking immediate, drastic action.

Two points, not that I have much confidence in your ability to comprehend them but here goes:

  1. there are very regular reports now of asylum seekers and immigrants committing acts of violence, sexual assaults and rapes. Not all of them have attracted any protest, so if I were inclined to do it I could find examples and say "what about this one huh? HUH?" There aren't riots for each and every despicable act committed by migrants.

  2. there is a key difference between the travelling community and recent arrivals, be they legal or illegal. The travelling community is established here so their presence here isn't up for discussion, immigration and asylum seeker policies are a conscious choice on the part of our government. If the state continues to allow these men to break into our country, and spends several billion pounds of our taxes annually to house them in our communities, it should come as no surprise when their frequent appalling behaviour causes outrage. We have every right to object to this and frankly it doesn't matter whether it upsets you or not.

  1. Yes there are which is interesting as to why they are not reporting on the rest? Why just those ones? Now given that the main child sex abusers are white boys in schools and society said it is wrong to tackle these boys and hold them to account shows just what society thinks of white sex offenders....they support them largely. The nation was up in arms at holding these boys to account in schools....saying it was sexist and wrong...that told me all I needed to know.
  2. The travelling community is established here as too are the population you are talking about - invited here after Britain invaded and decimated their lands...but hey what could be more British than invading and taking over many countries eh and not integrating?! The state continues to allow white men to cause harm to girls and continue with the culture of abuse and control of women and girls. So just because the travelling community are well established they are fine to cost us a fortune and some within the community to cause harm to others? That ok then?

Yes it does upset me as a victim of sex offenders that ppl will use victims for their own benefits and then ignore them when it suits...that is absolutely an issue. It is disgusting and insulting to use victims when it suits and then ignore them and turn a blind eye when it doesn't suit you.

By all means link me to your campaign...I will happily share it....

When the immigrants are gone, then what? You'll just say 'we got our country back' and now we can go about ignoring sex offenders and abusers again....as we always did? Yes?

Again show me where riots happened when white rapists got off with raping these girls....I'll wait? Seems they only riot when the rapist is not white or when the attacker is not white...

Selective outrage eh?

You don't know where to begin with ppl being selective with their outrage and ignoring cases when the victim is a certain demographic and the perpetrator is a certain demographic?

You think it is acceptable to be selective in outrage and use victims of abuse and rape for an agenda...that is not ok.

I work with rape victims...all rape victims. I do not ignore some rape victims and say they should be deported because they are brown and their rapists were part of their family...as is the current suggestion...

Respectfully if you cannot read and understand English then I presume you are the one who has English as a 2nd language.

A government’s basic duty is to keep people safe.

Creating a system that led to what happened in Belfast isn’t doing that.

TheNoonBell · 11/06/2026 07:01

How is Labour “tone deaf” - they’re doing more than the Conservatives ever did to tackle illegal migration.

No they're not. The reduction in legal immigration is purely down to change that Rishi Sunak brought in just before he stood down that disallowed visa applicants to bring their families to this country. It really annoys me that Labour are trying to take the credit.
However Boris did do badly in terms of immigration and let in millions.

This whataboutery is tiring.

Large groups of womenless men cause trouble. See military history. Any military you like.

Hoping that thousands of men of unknown backgrounds will live harmoniously in monk-like states is optimistic to say the least.

I mean, we could end up with a situation where 1200 European women get sexually assaulted and 500 raped in a single night by Egypt style mobs.

Oh wait it already happened ten years ago....

They want control over our media and control over our lives.
