'Afghan men 'fled UK in lorry after raping girl'

Mobile phone footage recovered from Safi's phone showed the men in the lorry laughing and gesticulating, which Hetherington said suggested they thought they "got away with it".

When they were found by French police in Calais on 3 December, they were returned to the UK.
Hetherington said the trio had no travel documents or identification and had given false names to French authorities.
After their real names were checked on police systems, they were arrested on suspicion of rape.
Sali, of St Werburghs, denies one count of human trafficking and two charges of rape.
Habibkheil, of Lockleaze, denies one count of human trafficking and one charge of rape.
Ahmadzai, of Redcliffe, denies one charge of rape and one charge of assault by penetration.
The 16-year-old also denied one charge of rape.
The trial continues.'

Afghan men accused of fleeing UK after raping girl in Bristol

A jury is told three defendants left the country in a "deeply unusual" way after the alleged rape.

Ha ha you are showing yourself up now. Embarrassed for you.

We don't think all immigrants will commit horrible crimes but we can't take the risk as we no absolutely nothing about their history.

But saying ‘white men are bad too’ is latent racism. It’d be better to say something like British-born but that would exclude all those reasonable people here from outside the UK.
The USA are recognising that some countries are in such an ongoing state of extreme turmoil, what is our lawful is no longer recognised by people from those places. No excuse but I suspect that the chap in Belfast yesterday had been so severely damaged by exposure to evil within his own country he was more than a little bonkers.
The far right are derided but maybe their message has some truth.

The USA refused entry to that young Somali ref due to be reffing for the world cup!

He has been extremely gracious and positive about being returned to Somalia.

Such a shame though.

These people literally aren’t our problem. Why should we be a dumping ground!?

Absolutely

I hope Reform get in. They're only party with the political will to make changes. The only party that are actually listening to our fears about undocumented males coming over in their droves.

OonaStubbs · 10/06/2026 18:30

We should reduce immigration to double figures and be extremely stringent about who we let in. Any immigrant should need be vouched for by someone who is already a British citizen with no criminal record and a positive balance with the exchequer. And if the immigrant breaks the law, the voucher should face consequences also.

It does feel that way sometimes, as Labour are so tone deaf.. In contrast anyone else can pretend to be listening. But Reform are definitely not the answer. They have no idea how to run a country, no economic plans and just hatred really. If they were in government we'd all be worse off. The only answer is the Conservatives and Kemi Badenoch. Kemi is the most impressive leader out of the sorry lot of them, she actually seems to speak clearly, with conviction and truth. She totally gets the immigration issues and failures of 'multiculturalism'.

How is Labour “tone deaf” - they’re doing more than the Conservatives ever did to tackle illegal migration.

ByGraptharsHammer · 10/06/2026 18:44

It is frightening what is happening in NI. This is not sectarian violence being done by religion, but it is about race. An actual race riot. It would be easy to say it was the usual suspects. It does not look that way.

This is what happens when people are done thinking rationally. And it is ominous. People are not yet being burned out of their houses in England, but the organisation of this will grow. I do not think the government have a handle on it.

Jinglejangle2525 · 10/06/2026 18:55

I would vote Kemi in if she set up her own party. I just don’t think many people will vote conservatives again which is a shame as I do think she is great. I actually think Kemi and Zia would make a great team personally. I think reform will get in as most people are just sick to death of what’s happening overall in this country, not just immigration issues, everything. And reform seem to be the only ones listening to what people want. The benefits system here is abused by many, people of all nationalities, and people are sick of working 40 + hours a week and having nothing once the bills are paid. Then they get the pleasure of seeing all these handouts given elsewhere. Not to mention £662 million to France to stop the boats … 🙄 Why are working British families paying tax after tax for it to be going to things like that.

I am not sure tbh any mainstream party has a grip on this properly, and that really does worry me. NI and the riots that are happening are when people have given up thinking. And it looks quite organized. I do not think it takes too much to have that in England, right now. The next riot will not be about a multi racial society. It will be about race full stop. And I think you will find the organization of it gets better each time.

I do not think I have seen a full race riot in this country in my lifetime. But I wonder for the first time whether it is possible. And I think the answer is yes. I don’t dismiss what Badenoch says, but the public order problems that are here now around race are increasing. They are getting worse. These are conversations which are useful to have but look at the gulf in the public mind that is developing.

The government seem surprised. They should not be, and in a way that is even worse. They lack authority.

Ok so devils advocate- what about Asian grooming gangs? How do you think they all get visas to move here? They are family sponsored.

so that won’t work to keep the rapists out, will it?

there’s already been one person on this thread complaining about their nice Indian neighbours, who have brought parents and family over….

CurlewKate · 10/06/2026 19:06

Maybe we could do something about innocent people being burnt out of their homes too—-

PinkandPerky · 10/06/2026 19:26

Maybe it should be 'right to immediate family unit'. Spouse and children for adults, parents only for children.

Labour don’t give a shit - or if they do, they haven’t done anything that demonstrates they do. I agree - Reform are a one trick pony. All they have in their arsenal is their stance on migration. I don’t trust Farage and think he will promise anything to get into power. (Much like the current Labour government).

I know the Cons didn’t do great last time, but I really like Kemi. I feel like she’s the only hope we have now.

Yes I like Kemi more and more and she polls well but unfortunately there's little chance they'll be in power as the party itself isn't popular.

I thought they were gaining in popularity though. And there’s a couple of years left until the next election. Lots can happen in that time.

They might have to look at how easy it was to get to NI via Dublin from France.

That happened under the Conservative government, when Reform politician Suella Braverman was responsible.

The reason it is so easy is that due to Brexit being incompatible with the Good Friday agreement, there isn’t a proper border between the Republic and the North. An issue caused by Boris Johnson and other Conservatives in power at the time.

It’s more interesting that someone from Sudan could arrive in Dublin from France with no issues, and be waved on to a bus.

But what kind of border are you arguing for here?

Between ROI and NI that is, can you say specifically what you want to see

Clavinova · 10/06/2026 19:56

PinkandPerky · 10/06/2026 16:30

Did Brexit cause this way of entry to be possible? (EU to Dublin then jump on a bus through the soft border)

No, pre-Brexit there were only occasional spot-checks on buses crossing the border either way.

You have this the wrong way round. There wasn't a proper border pre-Brexit - to comply with the Good Friday Agreement. However, it was argued that Brexit might create a hard border which would not be compatible with the Good Friday Agreement.
