To be cringed out by this (re sharing a takeaway)

When me and partner get a takeaway and share it he is obsessive over making sure we get half each, he will literally count pieces of chicken in a curry for example - how would this make you feel ?

That much?

I just sniff the food and let the man eat it all.

I do that and spoon feed him. 😁

Northernlights19 · Yesterday 21:19

I agree it is strange to actually count the pieces. I do however feel compelled to tell you I once posted about my partner at the time eating a curry I'd prepared for the family which contained 5 chicken breasts and was told I wasn't providing him with enough food which was clearly why he HAD to eat the whole thing 😂😂

😂😂😂

LOL, I feast on bread and tomatoes for lunch, so when the time for dinner comes, I am feeling very full and all I can eat is not much anyway.....may be should put it this way

He sounds like a tight wad. How does paying the normally work? Do you take turns or is it always let's split the bill or do you pay more often than him?

Unless he has some sort of mental illness such as OCD, this would be a massive turn off for his pettiness. 'Maybe' he was told off before or someone said something and he thinks this is how to ensure an equal share? Personally, it would drive me nuts and is not normal, adult behaviour.

Does he also calculate shared bills to the penny also? 🤔

Yes bills are split VERY equally

I always eat before I attend the takeaway so that I'll be so full I can't eat anything and all the men will think I have such a dainty and delicate birdlike appetite. I need to make sure I'm laced into my stays first though; if I ate before that, the servants couldn't lace me tight enough to fit the dress.

bronnibro · Yesterday 21:24

I think the answer is, what would happen if there 9 bits of chicken in the curry, or another odd number, would he let it slide or cut it in half 😂

Probably get the ruler out...

Protractor when slicing cake?

BurnoutBee · Yesterday 21:26

I always count the chicken in a curry one for him, one for me. He can get to fuck if he thinks he’s eating more chicken than me 🤣🤣. Plus, our Indian is stingy, every piece counts lol.

fashionqueen0123 · Yesterday 21:27

What an absolute weirdo. How many dates in did he start this?

You, too? The things we do...😁

He sounds like he wants you to be housemates not partners.

I have always eaten 1 fifth of what any man I have been with, usually eats. So these things would never even happen

ha ok miss skinny

Well at least he’s not eating more than half.

AMillionPeopleCheering · Yesterday 21:30

Shared some pasta parcels last night with my Dh - the nice big ones- and i counted those out. Maybe I will be served divorce papers tomorrow

fashionqueen0123 · Yesterday 21:34

Next take away. Open the bag and just take what you fancy. Make sure to take slightly more of something. And less of something else.

See what he does. I want to know if he’d take something off your plate.

And then as posted before, start counting the rice grains if he does.

And say your bank card isn’t working.

That’s quite different to picking out pieces of chicken in a curry 🤣

I agree i would always give my DH a bigger portion than me, men generally need more calories than women. I cant eat anywhere near as much.

But you do know that everyone is different, right? I can and do eat as much as my DH and no, I’m not remotely over weight. No “penis portions” in my house!

redskyAtNigh · Yesterday 21:36

I think it depends on the takeaway. Some only have about 4 pieces of meat, so it would be totally reasonable to count them out to make sure everyone got a fair portion. If it's an enormous portion with loads of meat then less so.

I would much rather have a partner than did that then end up with a plate of mostly sauce because no particular care was taken.

giddyboo · Yesterday 21:36

XenoBitch · Yesterday 20:30

I would think he grew up with a sibling that did the same. My DSis was the sort to get a ruler out if we had to share a piece of cake.

Was about to say the same.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 give over

fabstraction · Yesterday 21:37

Eh, if he's splitting it in half, I don't think I'd be bothered. I try to split things evenly when I'm sharing with someone. If they're small pieces of chicken I probably would just eyeball it, but larger ones? Yes, I'd count. Didn't realise that was a problem for some people.

(Unrelated, but I often have a bigger appetite than my husband.)

fairydustt · Yesterday 21:42

I’m a bit like this, it’s out of fairness not being tight or petty or anything like that, for example if making beans on toast and DH and I share a tin of those baked beans that have sausages in them, usually the tin has 12 sausages in, I’ll always specifically dish out 6 per person to be fair..
