Do you know what blows my mind… people who have their dinner with no drink. Like no drink at all. No juice no tea no water. How do you people do it?

what do you think?

YABU - a drink with food is not necessary
YANBU - not having a drink with your food makes you a psycho!!

We all have glasses of water when we sit and eat our evening meal. Find it a bit strange to not at least have something to drink next to my plate even if I don’t drink any of it!
Dh will have a Beer with a curry or a glass of wine if it goes with the meal and it’s the weekend but other than that all 5 of us have water with all meals.

Surely it’s just one of those things that people say, like ‘I need a coffee when I wake up or I can’t function’, or ‘I can’t get through the afternoon without a cup of tea’? It’s just hyperbole. They’re not actually saying that they’ll die if they don’t have a drink with their sausage and mash.

I don’t know…… that’s why I was asking!

Ah ok. Well then I’m pretty sure they won’t die if they don’t have a drink with their food. If they did die when they didn’t have a drink with their food (which they must have tried at least once to know that they ‘need’ a drink with their food), then they wouldn’t be on this thread to tell the tale!

I think it’s odd, I always have a drink on hand.

what’s worse is people who have food in their mouth and then take a drink and and smoosh it all together 🤢 I’m looking at you nephew it gives me the boak every time but he’s 5 so I’ll let him off.

I will never get over my friend in high school taking a bite of a tuna sandwich and a big gulp of fizzy juice in her mouth at the same tune.

This was over 30 years ago and i can picture it happening this very moment 😩

I never drink with my food. I eat, let things digest for 30 minutes, then drink. I heard this was the best way to do it and have done it ever since.
