As FM she was able to change policy pretty sharpish when there was public uproar.

What public uproar? FWS are loved by people like you and despised by people like me.

When they were a new thing on twitter, they followed me. Guess why?
Because I am a feminist.

As soon as they noticed I included trans women in my feminism, they not only unfollowed me, they blocked me.

The public? Very few give a shit about toilets and changing rooms in public places.

The majority of women don’t think trans identifying men should be allowed in women’s single sex spaces or sports etc. what’s wrong with that? What? What’s the issue?

Well Jenny Gilruth was a teacher and a hilarious video emerged of her berating a committee member for asking to see her financial forecasting. “How am I supposed to know what’s going to happen when it’s in the future?” she screamed back. Err…. Where do you actually start with people THAT stupid?

Give over, the Real Feminist is both funny and astute.

She wasn't FM. Alex Salmond was and Kenny McAskill was Justice Minister. She inherited their policies. Two men.

Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt

You would do well to take heed of this.

The first trans identifying men were in Scottish prisons in 2014. Nicola became First Minister in …..

She was FM when women were suffering in women’s prisons due to the disgusting behaviour of male prisoners - prove me wrong

I note you concede that she made up ‘rapistgender’ and failed to publicly condemn the policy that allowed double rapist Adam Graham to be placed in a women’s prison.

“Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt
You would do well to take heed of this.”

🤣🤣 ok pal.

Would you know if you didn’t live together much of the time, worked non stop, and he perhaps hid a lot of stuff or gave it away. Really? I know I wouldn’t, wouldn’t even cross my mind if someone I trusted.

Yeah, I would know. We are married and share a house!

'The UK and Scottish parliaments should hold a joint inquiry into Peter Murrell's financial crimes, former Labour first minister Jack McConnell has said. '

Lots of questions. Including the actions of the NEC, Dorothy Bain, and many others.

A join inquiry is not a bad idea.

And if the SNP ever want to be taken seriously again, they should be enthusiastically supportive.

It's just a pity she won't end up in jail with a lovely brick shitehouse of a rapist as a cellmate. Perfectly willing to allow this for other women though.

That would have been poetic justice on a delicious scale.

Do you think you need some therapy to figure out why you would celebrate a woman being raped?

Because I think you do.

Unfortunately, this is an anonymous forum.

But I think posting that hoping a woman is raped because it's "poetic justice" and "delicious" warrants an intervention from professional health services.

Hope all you "GC" feminists own this as one of theirs.

ArabellaScott · 01/06/2026 14:50

'Critics have accused Swinney and Sturgeon of shutting down concerns about SNP finances.

They point to the resignation in 2021 of senior party officials - including former treasurer Douglas Chapman - who say they were not given access to key documents.

Ex-MP Joanna Cherry, who also quit the SNP ruling body in 2021 due to a lack of transparency, has recently claimed concerns were not listened to by party leaders.

Sturgeon told the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg: "I reject completely the notion that people were trying to alert the party to the kind of behaviour that Peter pled guilty to on Monday." '

I'm wondering if hiring a solicitor known for his fondness for sensational headlines and the limelight was really in Sturgeon's best interests. It's certainly keeping her front and centre. I guess if you've operated in a very tight, closed circle of yes-people for years it must be hard to find anyone who can give you honest advice.

LizardLore · 01/06/2026 14:30

You are basically just saying you hope she gets raped. Great feminist you are.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said.

Oh hang on, you just made that up.

She is willing and actually enthusiastic to allow men , and in particular, known and convicted rapists, to be in women's prisons with vulnerable women.
She should be willing to face that in reality - if it is good enough for the women she is supposed to represent then it is good enough for her.

She put women at risk of rape. knowingly, to protect an absurd and dangerous ideology.

What kind of feminist are YOU that you think that's ok?

Where has this poster said that she wants to see NS be raped? Why should ANY prisoner feel in fear that they may be attacked by a man?

Nope, not what I said.

She deserves to know what it feels like to feel the fear of sharing a cell with a rapist.
What about the women she was actually willing to do this to?
Because I didn't actually say she deserves to be raped, that is your own over active imagination.

CornishDaughteroftheDawn · 01/06/2026 14:57

LizardLore · 01/06/2026 14:29

So this situation that you claim to oppose on feminist grounds would be okay if it happened to a woman you don’t like?

I’m sure you realise the women in prison will also have done things you wouldn’t approve of. Some things much worse than lacking professional oversight of their organisation. Worse than making bad policy decisions. Much worse even than embezzlement, if that’s what you think Sturgeon did.

So maybe it’s okay if they too have to share a cell with a rapist?

Nicola thought the policy was perfectly acceptable though so why would it be an issue for her?

She has confidence in how the SPS is managing the trans identifying male prisoners (at least 2 murderers and several rapists) so she’d be fine wouldn’t she? Or are we saying that’s now not the case?

She told the BBC as much.

In a BBC interview Ms Sturgeon stressed there were very few transgender prisoners in Scotland, representing only about 0.2% of the overall prison population, and that she had confidence in how the SPS was managing them.

From my point of view, it's not so important what gender they are, it's the crimes that they have committed.

Obviously the SPS thought they could cope fine with male murderers and rapists in a women’s prison so I’ve no idea what crimes would preclude them….

No rapists should be in women's prisons.

Women worked hard to raise awareness of the issue, to clarify the law in the Supreme Court, and to put pressure on politicians.

Making a throwaway comment like Hooty's is in your eyes worthy of sneering and jibes, but you've no qualms about supporting Sturgeon who actually had the power to protect women in prison, and chose not to.

I feel a bit sorry for her on a personal level. I think it's entirely plausible that she didn't realise the value of the stuff coming into her home. The salt grinder in our set it a bit dodgy right now so if dh came come with a new one I'd think he'd picked it up in tesco for £20 and eould be grateful. It wouldn't enter my head in a million years to ask him if it cost £2,000. I know jaguar cars are expensive but I don't know how expensive. It might be a lease arrangement or something, whi knows. She didn't drive, they had separate finances, she didn't care how he financed his car. She didn't think he had financed it by embezzling £££. That's not unreasonalble. That wouldn't be my first thought either.

But then on a professional level I 100% agree with @montysmaw about this

Daily accounts were below her pay grade yes.
However any leader should have sat up and taken note when allegations of a £600k fund going missing were raised.
She shoild also have paid attention when half the finance comittee resigned when her husband would not allow them access to the books to audit them

She was totally negligent in this. Whether because she didn't care enough, actively wanted to hide something, considered she had other more important things to worry about- who knows. It would be good if she could be honest about that.

She must be pretty confident that she's not going to be charged herself given that she's done a pretty high profile interview already.

I think she's pretty confident because Police Scotland interviewed her and released her without charge.

Threads like this are quite offensive.

Police Scotland aren't the Keystone Cops.

The irony, for me, is that people who are commenting have the MET as their police force.

The Met that ignored weirdos they had recruited.

The Met that are complicit in a young woman's death.

@JSMill she has described the set up at her in laws and explained how she didn’t register the vehicle when she visited. I’m sure journalists have fact checked the layout she described. My in laws also have a drive down the side of their house. They could have a rocket ship parked there for all I know, I don’t go down the side when we visit.
has there been any evidence to suggest she knew of the motor home and that it was owned by him/them? If her signature is on the paperwork or people have evidence to suggest she absolutely knew of it and knew it was bought with their money then fair enough but if it’s a vehicle she had no involvement with and couldn’t easily see then I believe her.

The motor home was listed on SNP accounts and they initially explained it away as having been purchased for use in campaigning.
