If you read the posts on the two threads detailing her misconduct/mismanagement then you didn't understand what you were reading. I can't help you with that.

You have to wonder what the poster seems to be defending if they have no knowledge of the accusations.

No, there are lots of good people in the SNP. Sensible, intelligent, and thoughtful. (plenty of bams also, unfortunately).

Edited

Agreed. My previous MSP and MP were both SNP and both excellent.

Have to agree that there are also bams. Mind you, the same could be said for other parties. I can think of a few Fife Labour, Lib Dem, Tory and Green bams.

Special mention to the Reform cooncil candidate who said that he only claimed to be an Oxbridge grad as a joke.

A woman or the SNP, I guess, but she is misguided on both counts. It's in the interest of neither women in general nor a political party to pretend the that a woman and a party haven't failed when they have.

i thought she sounding convincing when i heard the interview on JV today
although previous to hearing her i didnt believe her

I have a friend who’s SNP councillor became an MSP in the last election and they’re excellent. And I think the Shetland MSP seems good. So many not very bright drones who just spout the illogical party lines though. They crowd out the good people.

Made by a coffee machine by any chance? One of Murrell's specials 😆 🤣

I reckon that those of us who were/are in the SNP should get the coffee machines on a timeshare business.

I'm afraid that my coffee was instant.

I fully accept she might not have known Murrell was stealing. But the corporate governance failures mean she should have known. She has failed the SNP donors badly whether she knew Murrell was stealing or not.

In business you do not get away with ignoring the fact that your auditors walked away saying they could not audit the accounts and later finding out hundreds of thousands are missing and was going missing after you had been told about accounting irregularities.

And you certainly don't get to portray yourself as a victim when your mistakes are exposed.

There is a strong argument to be made that the problem isn't even embezzlement or fraud per se, but a culture that kept power concentrated in an ever tinier cabal.

If she genuinely didn't know, she's incompetent. Allowing those who requested it access to the books would have uncovered this sooner.

March 2021
Three senior SNP officials - Frank Ross, Allison Graham and Cynthia Guthrie - resign from the party's finance and audit committee after being denied sight of the accounts.
At the same virtual SNP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Ms Sturgeon is filmed downplaying concerns, stating: "The party has never been in a stronger financial position than it is right now."
She later warns: "Just be very careful, all of us, about suggestions that there are problems with the party's finances because we depend on donors to donate.
"There are no reasons for people to be concerned about the party's finances and all of us need to be careful about not suggesting that there is."

That cabal ruled by authoritarian means, brooked no dissent, and attacked anyone who questioned it. The manouevres made to get rid of Joan McAlpine, or Joanna Cherry, etc, were outrageous.

ArabellaScott · 01/06/2026 20:27

I say kept, it's the same folk at the top. Just shuffled.

ArabellaScott · 01/06/2026 20:28

Kirsten Oswald, John Swinney, etc, have a lot to explain.

This is just the beginning for them. The issues will not go away.

You have to wonder what the poster seems to be defending if they have no knowledge of the accusations.

There are no accusations except that she should have taken time away from her job as FM to police her husband’s spending.

So she should have been a controlling spouse that you would all have advised Peter to LTB.

The other accusation is that she tried to make self ID law, which was supported by every single other party in Holyrood except for the Tories and even three of them supported it.

Good luck finding a party that didn’t support it.

You don’t even have Alba now as it was full of bams who we all predicted would fall out with each other, which they have, and they have an outstanding police investigation into their finances, all overseen by Mr “sleepy cuddles” himself who turned a blind eye to Peter’s habit of stealing, even when it was from his own (cuckolded) wife.

I swear that many women, who used to be normal and who now pretend to be feminists, are anything but because they concentrate on 0.5% of the population while ignoring the vast majority of abuse which happens in the home.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves. But you won’t be as you are a cult.

A dangerous one.

As a last thing, many women in prison have had shit lives. They are a product of their environment.

Maybe concentrate on trying to make women’s lives better rather than who they are locked up with when they respond badly to the awful way they were raised.

Heres a clue.

They weren’t raised by trans women.

All this thread proves is that the court of public opinion is very different to the court of law. Sturgeon can avoid being prosecuted, but people will have their own views. It seems they are pretty negative about her.

Some of it is her political beliefs. But the other bit is her divisiveness. This is in part why she is getting the reception she does. She is being laughed at in England, and in Scotland viewed with bitterness.

For a powerful person this will feel unjust. She is used to controlling things. Now she cannot. The more she tries, the worse it gets.

HootyMcBoobys · 01/06/2026 20:43

And how is putting men into women's prions "making women's lives better" exactly?

We're a dangerous cult?

Tell that to the children being sterilised, the woman being doxed, the women being sacked, the women being openly threatened, the physical violence inflicted on women at peaceful (on their side) protests, the horrendous threats and signs made to gender critical women peacefully demonstrating.

The danger comes from one side, and one side only.

Usually the kind of people who think it's hunky-dory for MEN to be in women's safe spaces.

They weren’t raised by trans women.

Self ID is absolutely abhorrent to women who do not men in their single sex spaces. This is why so many politicians have now rolled back on their previous stances. They’ve made the time to listen to women’s concerns. See the new health secretary, James Murray, who admits he used to think TWAW but does not now think that’s the case. He now admits that women cannot have penises. He has stepped out of the mindless cult. See also Scottish Labour. They have regained the moral high ground by protecting women’s rights - for women.

There have always been trans women in women’s loos and this was always at women’s discretion. If a woman didn’t feel threatened they’d turn a blind eye. It was never an issue until TRAs DEMANDED that men be allowed to use women’s single sex spaces, denying women a choice in the matter. This overstepped the line in a major way as it took away the right for a woman to react when they were feeling threatened.

Women’s right to single sex spaces is all about us being able to protect our safety. If politicians cannot respect this basic point then they are of no use on other matters. So many politicians are seeing this now. Perhaps you could do with reflecting on this too?

ByGraptharsHammer · 01/06/2026 20:51

The other thing about her is that she clearly really does think she is owed some respect. That one is interesting. I do not know if that is something to do with the SNP having had control for so long that she may really find it hard not to have that status. In Westminster people lose and get a kicking every day of the week. It’s part of the job. Perhaps Sturgeon had a soft ride as FM. Westminster is a bear pit.
