Earliest time to cut the grass tomorrow??

TakingThePeanutsCarol · Today 17:16

I’m on a new build estate, so lots of people living around me. I need to cut the grass tomorrow but want to do it as early as possible to avoid the heat - health conditions make it too difficult once it warms up. Obviously I don’t want to be a dick though 🤦‍♀️

What’s the consensus? 9am???

9 if it's people can hear it as a hum a few gardens away. 10 if you're close to neighbours and it could wake them up.

Stoicandhappy · Today 17:40

Yeah 9 should be fine

SummerHouse · Today 17:43

9 is courteous
10 is kind
8 is merciless
7 is the devil

8am

If someone did that to me in the weekend I’ll be throwing eggs in their garden. It’s inhumane!

Tableforjoan · Today 17:48

I’d expect that despite my sleep the world goes on by 8/9am

Unlike my neighbours builders starting at 7:30am again.

Superhansrantowindsor · Today 17:48

I think it would be better to do it now rather than early tomorrow

Not at the weekend.

Gizlotsmum · Today 17:52

As someone else said could you do it this evening ( before 9pm)

Not sure. Champions league final is on, lots of people out enjoying their gardens as it’s a nice evening, at least where I am. Plus it’s actually likely hotter than it’ll be before midday tmro.

10am

Sparrowsandbudgies · Today 17:53

I think 10am on a Sunday is reasonable.

Jellox · Today 17:55

Why not do it now or in a bit? I’m just about to do mine.

Then I’m going to have a shower and get in my PJs and relax.

You’ll have extra free time tomorrow then too.

Why would people being in their gardens be an issue?

I assume most people will be in their gardens tomorrow too.

HurdyGurdy19 · Today 17:57

Not until Monday, when No Mow May is over 😅

But I'd say 9am is early enough on a Sunday.

Indianajet · Today 17:57

9 a.m.

GreenCandleWax · Today 17:59

I don't cut my grass or use other noisy equipment on a Sunday.

EmeraldRoulette · Today 17:59

10

but where is going to be hot tomorrow?

I'm in Essex and even we are forecast to have it cool down tomorrow - I'm desperate for my flight to cool down so I'm very pleased but also confused because it doesn't look as if the temperature is coming down much tonight.

doitwithlove · Today 17:59

I would do it at 8am, I despise my neighbours #entitledtwats

I would say 9

plsbekinddelicate · Today 18:01

We started at 8 this morning, will be half past tomorrow. Massive garden and we both work all week so it’s got to be done

Thefrenchconnection1 · Today 18:01

Who lives either side? If young families 8am is fine. If older kids or just adults, 10am unless you know they are up earlier

Loubissou · Today 18:03

Not before 10am.
Or leave it until you are back. It won't mind waiting a few days.
