To think people that don’t round up ages are odd

Friend is 30 late July and is still saying he’s 29 when I was that close to my 30th I was just saying I was 30

Maybe the OP is thinking that it takes a lot of effort to say the extra syllable in 29 as opposed to 30 🤣.

I must admit that if someone asks me my age I say "I'll be 53 in July" just so I can see their look of surprise. It doesn't usually come 🤣

Mostly at work when chatting about my future career & retirement plans, where age is relevant in relation to when I can get my pension. There've been a lot of changes to our work pension scheme over the last three or four years so it's been the subject of a lot of conversation.

I might say I am nearly an age if that birthday is coming up soon but wouldn’t say I was that age.

I do find it odd when talking about ages in months once a child is say over the age of 2. There was a poster the other day who said their child was something like 5 years and 4 months old, which I also found odd
