To think that Tom Hardy is a misogynist?

He's been fired from Mobland for being hard to work with

Apparently he's been like this on other sets and seems to enjoy intimidating women, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron being named

I reckon he gives misogynist vibes and no longer find him sexy 😒😒

I’ve never understood his appeal.
To me he seems to have a moist and flabby face. I get the feeling he probably smells sour.

He was brilliant in Taboo - still sad that only got one series.
i think it’s hard to know from that report - I suspect he’s not the easiest to work with but that doesn’t necessarily mean misogyny .I can imagine Helen Mirren plus Pierce Brosnan being an irritatingly luvvie combination. He sounds quite reflective and honest over the issues filming Mad Max.
He certainly doesn’t sound like he has Jared Leto levels of method acting sociopathy but that’s a low bar to set!

I think it is wise to not have any emotional attachment to any actor or famous person. Being famous/infamous for any reason other than circumstance requires a level of intensity and self-obsession that is unappealing to the average folk.

All the stories if this person doing this, or not doing this are all PR.

Amira96 · Yesterday 04:49

I think an awful lot of actors/celebs are arrogant and can be difficult to work with, the fame goes to their heads. I've not seen anything about him being misogynistic specifically

augustusglupe · Yesterday 04:57

I’ve only seen him in Legend. He was brilliant in that.

MoonriseKingdom - I can imagine Helen Mirren plus Pierce Brosnan being an irritatingly luvvie combination

So can I, I’m just not keen on either.

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 07:04

😆 🤣 😂 sorry, that was to the sit on his face in a heartbeat post!

I used to fancy him but unlike Tom Hiddleston and James Norton, his attractiveness is overshadowed by his arrogance. The other two show warmth and humility.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · Yesterday 07:26

Helen Mirren was godawful in Mobland, as was Pierce Brosnan. The accents 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Only watched if for Tom Hardy!

Even if you take every word of that article as gospel, none of it says misogyny, just general arseholery and a lack of professionalism.

This. I don’t think he’s a misogynist, just a bit of an arsehole who winds people up by his tardiness and lack of professionalism which then leads to arguments.

DeathNote11 · Yesterday 07:38

I don't care about his personality or opinions. He's an actor, I just need him to look pretty & deliver his lines well.

Tuxedomaddness · Yesterday 07:44

LostTheButter · 26/05/2026 15:42

I don't really care. He's hot.

It's very well known in the industry that he has been back on Class A drugs for the last 5 months.
A man who came from priviledge, got more and now is on a road to self destruction.
Ring a bell anyone?

But you find him 'hot' so it's ok!

Yes, it's ok. Thanks for your permission for me to have an opinion. Now it's only the heat keeping me up at night.

Cleocaterpillar · Yesterday 07:50

He's very good looking but I always got the impression he's a bit of a knob. Takes himself VERY seriously and overacts to the point of being cringe. Seems to be a privileged posh boy but prefers to be seen as a slightly dangerous sarf London bloke. He is kind to dogs though, so there's that.

You seem angry. Heat stroke?

Ponoka7 · Yesterday 08:03

I agree with others that it isn't misogyny, perhaps he doesn't play the luvvie acting game, as said, so HM saw it as arrogance. He was the star drawing the viewing figures. He is put in roles that need that swagger. Oliver Reed was an immersive actor. I liked that he said he was out of his depth on the Mad Max set and appologised. Pierce Brosnan asks the extras to go to the pub with him and then talks about what he's got and how much his properties are worth. He is a bit of a knob, he sees himself as a king holding court.

No i just do not make flippant comments about other humans who are in great pain.

You clearly think it's amusing. Carry on. Hoprfully karma will.get you...sooner or later .

This whole thread is about misogyny and not his "great pain" you've read about and tried to assert as truth.

Stop being dramatic.

Stop being an unrelenting arsehole. The more you try to defend yourself, the more embarrsasing you become.
And who told you 'i'd read about it'?

His friends and family may be on this chat board?
Be careful about what you are ssying.

I'm not defending myself? I'm just replying to you because you keep talking to me. Assume you're bored or combative from heat stroke.

You're so caring about Tom and his issues but you are quite happy to try to give me grief.

Typical hypocrite.

ChalkOutlines · Yesterday 08:24

I read the article. He sounds like a dick (not surprising, most actors are) to everyone, but where exactly did you get misogyny from?

IamaBluebird · Yesterday 08:27

Newspapers and the media are very adept at putting people down, there are usually two sides to all that they publish.
If Tom Hardy is having issues I hope he resolves them, not because he’s an actor or famous, but because he’s a person with a real life.

Separation from his wife? He’s just been pictured on holiday with her in the Caribbean looking very happy and loved up.

ChalkOutlines · Yesterday 08:31

Also, are we talking about the same Helen Mirren who said Mike Tyson is not a rapist?
