I will give NS the benefit of the doubt. Yes, it was an awful lot of money. But it was over 12 years. And it is possible that she never actually saw many of the purchases. The expensive pens, kitchenware etc… do we know for sure that NS actually knew of their existence?

The motorhome and the cars are harder to explain. But not if she was led to believe that the vehicles were not in his name, leased etc.

He may well have exaggerated his sources of income, investments etc.

I know it is incredulous but we have all seen on her many women post about discovering shocking secrets after a long marriage. Husbands living double lives with other families, massive gambling debts, tens of thousands of pounds hidden away. Yes, she should have asked questions but he was her husband and she trusted him.

There have been rumours around for the best part of a decade that Sturgeon wasn't living with her husband, but with another woman. These are rumours, and I'm not sure how much credence to give them, but it would explain her not knowing. I'm no fan of the SNP, just in case anyone thinks I'm trying to make excuses for Sturgeon.
