Can you tell they cost that much? If I saw a salt and pepper shaker that had jewels on it I’d assume they were fake. Likewise I’m not sure I could tell that a pencil sharpener cost over £100.

The whole thing is bizarre. The list of things he purchased don't exactly sound like what you would imagine someone who was embezzling would go for. And why purchase the camper van and just leave it on your mum's drive. What's the point? Did he actually ever use it?
It is arguable that, as his wife, she might not have been aware or turned a blind eye but as leader of the SNP did she have no interest in the party's finances?
I find it hard to believe she was totally unaware.

I would love to beleive that Nicola just has no awareness of luxury items and how much the cost. She's not very into fashion or things... but I think that's a long shot. You could not ignore some of this stuff.

Nicola is such a disappointment. I thought she was better than Johnson and Farage. Whilst this wasn't her fault she clearly was blind here as she was with salmond. She could have been one of the great politicians. She handled covid like a pro.

Get facts right. The Campervan was parked on his mother's driveway . It's possible she knew, possible she didn't. They had separate bank accounts. All you will do is guess, but you'll never fully know so it's pointless worrying.

I feel its believable too.

Its £400k but over 12 years- and in a context where Nicola was earning £200k a year, her husband at the time around £100k a year.

Its very different from a family earning say £60k collectively a year, to wonder where money for buying things like that is coming from, and watching the pennies till pay day.

It is strange that it is mundane things they could likely afford from their own salaries.

One partner does tbe majority of the financial admin (I know thats how we work it), someone has a personal account to muddy the waters a bit- I can see how this could happen, women have found out they have been deceived by their partners on here very regularly.
