DH tagging me in a FB post that my customers can see

I'm hopping mad right now! My DH is off today (his first day off in a week) and he's having a lovely day in the garden. He just cracked open a cider, took a photo and posted it to FB, tagging me, basically saying that "we" are in the garden drinking cider.

I am not! I am inside working. I am friends on FB with my clients who I am working for right now. They will have seen the post. I've taken it down now. I am so mad at him! I was going to join him after I finish for the day, but I'm now sitting inside seething at his stupidity. I feel like just sacking our evening plans off entirely.

How could he be so silly?

Turn on approval for tags.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 25/05/2026 16:19

Why do you have your personal and business accounts linked. Keep clients off your personal social media!

You are being v unreasonable.

Liznug · 25/05/2026 16:19

delete
go to privacy settings
ensure he can’t tag you again

and maybe the heat is getting to you because you sounds far too angry for the issue

rubyslippers · 25/05/2026 16:20

Why are you business and personal accounts linked?

HighLadyofTheNightCourt · 25/05/2026 16:20

Your anger seems disproportionate tbh. Is it really such a big deal?

Liznug · 25/05/2026 16:21

Was evening plans to sit in garden drinking cider to father? Perhaps he was posting prematurely!

What does drinking cider "to father" mean? 🤔

Bilbobagginsbollox · 25/05/2026 16:24

You are assuming your customers are a) following you b) reading Facebook on a day like today. My FB hasn’t shown me anything a single friend has done for years anyway, it’s all just AI nonsense.

WhosGotTheKeysToMyBimma · 25/05/2026 16:25

You shouldn't have personal and business linked on Facebook. Rookie mistake.

I can't believe you don't have approval set up for tags either, or haven't put your clients in a special friends list that only shows certain things.

Your DH was a bit thoughtless if he knows that you have clients on Facebook but it was entirely preventable by you.

SandwichSuperstar · 25/05/2026 16:26

Blimey, it's not the massive deal you appear to be making it into.

Also, you're responsible for your own FB account so you should have approval for tags switched on 🤷‍♂️

100% this. It's not his fault you haven't bothered to set up a seperate business account.

In the garden

WilfredsPies · 25/05/2026 16:32

You’ve made it worse by deleting it. If they saw it, they’ll now be convinced you deleted it because you didn’t want them to see you were drinking in the garden. All you had to do was just reply along the lines of ‘He lives the life of Reilly, this one! Will join you after work, so top up the ice cubes’. Repost it with that reply, problem solved.

Liznug · 25/05/2026 16:32

I can’t understand what the big deal is so I’m guessing there must be some serious ongoing shit between the pair of you

You maybe have a point. Too late now. Thing is, it's not even bloody true!

I think you’re over reacting a bit
enjoy your evening. Life’s too short.

Flickitspinittwistitbopit · 25/05/2026 16:38

Also I would assume he was tagging you to show you as this is quite common, and if you weren't in the pic why would anyone automatically assume you were drinking too?

If any doubt you could have easily commented something along the lines of 'wow that looks delicious wish I was there' 🤷‍♀️

Although obviously no.1 task is setting up tagging approval! 🤦‍♀️😂

I didn't even know about this feature until now!!

If you're going to use SM for business as well as pleasure, it's always best to take time researching how to use it.

I only use mine for personal and yet no-one can post on my timeline or tag me without my approval.

Liznug · 25/05/2026 16:40

You seem very unsure of how your clients view you. Surely only a handful you’re seeing this afternoon

In the garden

Drinking 'cider to father' means in the garden?? That's a new one on me.🤔

Me too.

I'm actually more confused now 🤣

Newnamesarehard · 25/05/2026 16:43

I'm sure she meant 'together'

Sirzy · 25/05/2026 16:43

Sounds like a massive overreaction from you. As others have said the main issue here seems to be you blurring work and personal lines having clients as friends.
