Who TF voted that you were being U? Confused

I don’t know 😭

I have posted on here in support of the Jewish community under three different usernames (over three years)

I am sorry for this, but I am also struggling with poor mental health

Just to be genuine and add some details: I am a German National, living in England with my British husband

And I want to once again add my support to the Jewish community

I am sorry sorry I went away

Here for you all x

I think a fair few Jewish posters have left (or been driven off of) MN in the past couple of years.

Newrumpus · 03/05/2026 19:31

I agree. Fortunately, in real life I don’t know anyone who holds the type of disgusting views that are sometimes defended on this site.

Davros · 03/05/2026 19:31

Oh no, I pressed YABU by mistake

RochelleMajerKrich · 03/05/2026 19:33

My husband has just ordered two Star of David pins

The time has come to stand up and be counted

I agree with you RochelleMajerKrich.
It's like a terrible nightmare.

HermioneWeasley · 03/05/2026 19:41

Agree, solidarity with our Jewish community, always but especially now.

😭

I want to stand with the Jewish community..my heart is hurting when I think of what they’re going through

I want to set an example but I don’t want to ‘culture appropriate’ which makes me wonder if wearing those pins my husband ordered might be offensive

it’s so hard to know what’s right

at the end of the day we both just want to let Jewish people know that you are no alone

we stand with you

and we hate all the whataboutery which always raises its face when it comes to antisemitism

So so much love to the Jewish community here and abroad

❤️❤️❤️

There is some disgusting antisemitism that is rife currently. My grandmother was Jewish. My mother and I weren’t raised Jewish but I still have strong feelings to the religion. I have a Jewish surname, I love my heritage and stand with solidarity always against antisemitism. I was one of two children in my entire secondary school with a Jewish surname and I had some certainly very questionable things said to me, once by a teacher, this was 30 years ago now so I dread to think what would be said now. My DC don’t have my surname, they have their fathers.
I also think some people are being accused of antisemitism for being critical of the Israeli government. That is not being antisemitic. Showing support to Palestinians, is not antisemitism. Being opposed to the death of 1000s and 1000s of babies and children is not antisemitism. People getting called antisemitic for having views or opinions waters down completely the genuine meaning of antisemitism and it stops it having any real meaning. I hate the fact that in these times my grandmother would fear leaving her home, a woman who was evacuated, would have had to have lived in fear because of her religion from the start of her life until the end. Hatred for another person because they have different beliefs from yourself is so strange to me.

NOTANUM · 03/05/2026 20:04

One in six young people in the UK challenge the official account of the Holocaust according to the Met police chief this weekend in the Times. If that isn’t petrifying, I don’t know what is..

I agree OP. We must all stand up to antisemitism.

ButtCheeks · 03/05/2026 20:07

I agree OP. I am not Jewish by blood but I was raised celebrating Jewish holidays with my pseudo-family (long story) and they are very close to my heart. I will always stand with the Jewish community.

FailedToLaunch · 03/05/2026 20:13

Welcome back op! Thank you for standing tall and fighting the good fight. It's so important to let our Jewish friends they're not alone and won't be cowered by antisemites. They do not represent the majority view; they are just very very loud and very very brainwashed.

HeyThereDelila · 03/05/2026 20:16

Well said, OP.

Solidarity from this Christian to my Jewish brothers and sisters.

Similar jewish background ..I hate how anti semitism is being weaponised to reduce the right to protest

BlakeCarrington · 03/05/2026 20:17

YANBU OP. Big love to our Jewish brothers and sisters from me. Everyone I know detests what is happening and is outraged at the anti-semitism you are suffering in the UK. I am totally ashamed of those people. It is only a minority of arseholes who feel that way. We love our Jewish friends and neighbours and will fight back against it with you ❤️❤️Xx

Echobelly · 03/05/2026 20:23

Thanks @PoorEileen - I'm Jewish and it is important we do allow legitimate criticism of Israel, to do otherwise doesn't actually help Jews.

I will say I have always felt and continue to feel very welcome and safe in the UK and think most people aren't antisemitic. But it's something always to be on guard against as there are always a few people trying to subtly or not so subtly slip it into discourse.

That would be supportive, not appropriative. ❤️ But be prepared to deal with the potential fallout.

I have a very lovely colleague who is Israeli. She has no other country to go to. This makes her, and me, Zionist. I don't mind being called that and I think all chants that call for violence against Jewish people and elimination of Israel should be robustly policed. You can debate the existence of a country but you can't walk down the streets shouting that it should be wiped off the map or that all people of one ethnicity should be killed.
I can't imagine what it feels like to be ostracised in every country in the world and then told you have no right to the one country you have escaped to.

Thank you, we’re at the stage where we are prepared to deal with whatever.

I saw Zach Polanski being interviewed by Trevor Phillips today (this morning) and he was an absolute disgrace

I wish/ hope that everyone who contemplates voting for the Greens takes a minute to think about it…

Just because Zack Polanski is Jewish, doesn’t mean he can’t also be antisemitic

The two aren’t mutually exclusive
