Omg 😲

Maybe it was scott? Although the phrasing suggests not 🤔

overwork · 02/05/2026 23:04

Could it have been someone like Jeremy Clarkson? He was known to have a bit of a temper

I reckon the beeb is just like any other media workplace - completely awful - i reckon that channel 4 lot have got some stories ^🤢🤢🤢^

Who was going to be taken to a tribunal (is that the right word?) last week but it was cancelled at the last minute? I don’t know what channel it was though.

That was Dan Walker.

BitOutOfPractice · 02/05/2026 23:12

Can you summarise. I won’t click that link but I am nosy

MegJoBethandAmytoo · 02/05/2026 23:12

It happened in 2014 and both people have left the BBC

Redheadedstepchild · 02/05/2026 23:44

From the clue in the article of being given, "Undesirable shifts" it suggests to me that they worked in radio or possibly live TV sports coverage?

corlan · 03/05/2026 09:47

Daily Mail often give us a clue by putting another story about the person they can't name in the paper.....

LizzieSiddal · 03/05/2026 10:03

Whoever it was, it’s utterly disgraceful that nothing was done about them.

I know several woman who’ve worked at the BBC and it’s very toxic. If you make any complaints your job, which are mainly short term contracts, are in jeopardy.

Dollymylove · 03/05/2026 10:15

Reading the article it states that the Beeb didnt report it to the police.
Could the victim not have reported it themselves?

I’m not buying the paper so go on, who have they published a different article about?

I would imagine the victim would have been scared of never working in the industry again if she had.

Look at the recent Dan Walker case where he had over 50 statements to present saying what a thoroughly decent chap he is, only to settle before the case was heard. It might just be my opinion but I wouldn’t settle if I was innocent of the allegations.

2014

why is it being dragged up now?

Edited

No, it says he left longer ago.

Ffs, why wasn’t this reported to the police as assault? I’m usually skeptical of the DM but there must be some truth in this, it’s too specific.

I’m pretty sure he put out a statement to say that he didn’t settle and the case was thrown out?

2014

why is it being dragged up now?

Because whoever was injured now feels they may be listened to, when they weren’t supported before?

It wasn’t heard so couldn’t have been thrown out?

Beatriz85 · 03/05/2026 10:40

What did Dan Walker do?

frecklejuice · 03/05/2026 10:43

Sorry just had a look and it said all allegations were withdrawn. Apparently channel 5 and ITN reached an agreement whatever that means.

Beatriz85 · 03/05/2026 10:43

Is it R Bacon, if the article says he left in 2014? Although not sure why the story now after all these years

NellieJean · 03/05/2026 10:44

Does anybody really believe anything they read in the Mail apart from the date..

You think 100% of everything in the Daily Mail Mail, every day, is false?

Posts like that make you seem a bit unintelligent, so you don't think everything in a particular news source is true but it's blatant nonsense to say that nothing is.

A lot of stuff comes to light because newspapers publish it, are you saying that the person who had their wrist broken is a liar?

Decacaffeinatednow · 03/05/2026 10:52

@NellieJean
The DM and the Mail on Sunday were very much on the case of AMW and Epstein- for years.
