Misophonia - what are your triggers?

My major one currently is people within earshot eating snacks out of a packet e.g. crisps, cookies, and making that bloody crinkling noise. Makes me want to put my fist through the wall. What are your main triggers?

Adverts on the radio with sounds of people eating. People typing so heavily, their keyboard rattles. Cutlery scraping plates.

I had to get over my eating misophonia as my daughter is physically unable to close her mouth ( cleft lip repair) whilst eating. It was hard but I couldn't ever let her see me react in anyway.

How did you get over it @JulietteNichols ?

Dogs. Everything about them. It's gotten worse, too, over the years, like I now have the severe ick.
First it was the barking and the yapping, but now it's that awful yawn they do, their scratchy nails on floorboards, the slobbery panting.
I actively avoid them now, as much as possible. They give me the rage.

We have a lot of foxes round here and they make a noise at night every now and then and it doesn't bother me the way dogs do.

knuckle cracking and nail clipping 🤬🤬🤬

People sawing at food on plates. Really putting their back into sawing at something so the plate and knife is screeching that horrible sound. My MIL saws at everything in her plate cutting it into to tiny pieces. Chips. Green beans. I have to dissociate to cope with it.

I suppose it was immersion, I have no choice, get on with it or never be with my daughter at meal times, I couldn't do this as its not her fault and I can't let myself be that person. I had to get over it.
