Stag do plans and suspect abbreviations

DP is joint best man for a close friends Wedding in early summer and the stag is abroad next month. DP sorted the logistics of booking, chasing everyone for payment etc (there is 16 people going). The other best man has put together a ‘plan’ for the long weekend and sent to DP for his approval.

I’ve seen this because it’s saved to iCloud and we can jointly access that through the iPad we share to watch Netflix etc.

It’s all fairly standard stuff, but the final section is titled ‘expected costs’ and lists things such as a beer, meal in restaurant, etc, to help people budget. Within this section there are abbreviations, which I’ve taken to be ‘dodgy’ given they are not written in full and one is fairly obviously a strip club, although no idea on ‘MP’.

Ive got it in front of me as took a photo so have written out exactly:

SC - Ent: €10-20 / PD: €50-70
MP - €50 / HR +€30 / OWO + €40 / PM,SO +€50 / FS €100

I have already asked DP who said he scanned over the main itinerary and didn’t even realise that last section was on there and has no idea what it means. He also said he never has and never will step foot in a strip club.

Am I being naive to think DP was unaware? And does anyone know what the last part means?

The stag is close enough to these regular unashamed sex tourists that he has allowed his stag do to take place with all 7/8 of them present in the sex industry capital that is Benidorm. He won’t be “appalled” at the list and neither is your DP.

Your DP has fucked up and now his job is simply to keep you quiet so you don’t tell any other women.

Do her a favour OP and use this opportunity so send the bride the “plan”. Say, Dave says that John will also be appalled by this but this is the plan Mark has sent for the Benidorm trip.

According to OPs boyfriend, he had completely overlooked it! For all her boyfriend knows, it could be Paddleboard Day or Mini Putting or Full Sail.

DP should ask first. And when the list comes back, then she can share it with the ladies (only fair for joint finances in a CoL...) and he can step back or warn the groom or whatever he wants to do....

My DH went on a stag do - all his mates went into a strip club and he waited outside.

I’m sure some of you will think I’m naive but I know 100% it’s true. My brother was there for a start and told me this himself (he went in!).

If the Groom knows that some of his 'mates' have grim habits, I am assuming he didn't think they were going to Benidorm for the architecture! There is a reason that location was chosen.

And there is no way those abbreviations have an innocent meaning, they are too ambiguous for things like paddle boarding

I mean tbf I went on a girls holiday to Benidorm last year and one of the nights was actually tucked up in bed by 10pm with a cup of tea on Facetime to my husband, the other 3 nights I was out until 3am.

I’ve been trying to think what I would do in this situation if it was my husband. I’m petty though, I would probably have to make a proper menu. Something really nice on Photoshop. Some good card stock. Plenty of pictures, a nice key in the corner to make reference to when working out the codes. And a design and colour palette that screams ‘wedding’ and ‘I’m truly committed for life’. I’d pop them to the best man’s mum having done him the favour, so she could ask him to hand them out at the earliest opportunity. After all, people need time to save in this cost of living crisis.

I can't imagine DH would know what all those abbreviations meant (his DB on the other hand would!). However, I can't imagine him agreeing going on a stag do to Benidorm as he would have a pretty good idea what company he would have to be dealing with over the weekend and he wouldn't be impressed or feel comfortable. Even if he gave the strip club a swerve I can imagine the 'banter' that would be going on over the weekend and the tales told about the trips to Thailand

I think we’re trying to help you so you are forewarned, as some of us have been down this same road and listened to similar lines you’re being given. It’s tricky. I hope your faith in him is rewarded. I also hope you’re in a position to leave if you decide to - if nothing else, protect your health and have a STI checkup when he returns.
