AIBU to be livid at kitchen fitter for pissing all over my bathroom like a bloody tomcat?

AIBU to be absolutely livid that my kitchen fitter pisses all over the toilet and the floor every time he uses the facilities. He must have a "sprinkle-cock" Fireman Sam would be proud of. And not only that, he flushes without putting down the lid of the toilet so aerosols of his piss float through the air coating the immediate area around the loo. Every time he goes in there my whole body tenses and I have to go in after him to mop up the worst of what's on the floor so it doesn't get traipsed through the house. I have carpet ! ! ! ! ! And I know I'll be scrubbing away as soon as he leaves this evening.

My BP is up and it's only day 2 ! Oh god I could swing for him!!!

Seriously if every man that uses your toilet cant aim I would say your toilet may be the issue… I get the odd sprinkle but not at the extreme you are saying by every man!!

Show him this video

Brilliant video! Even the most careful aimers are still spraying droplets. In an ideal world I'd have a urinal in the bathroom for the menfolk but most people don't. Sitting to pee like German men do is the only way, it shows respect.

"His hose obviously isn't long enough for him to aim properly" <-- I was told by a angry relative who had a workman in who pissed all over her toilet seat/ floor 😂

😆

Is it weird that I’m thinking about what the end of his penis must look like in order for the pee to come out in all directions? Probably.

Sensible point actually. Hypospadias is a fairly common congenital abnormality where the hole in the head of the penis isn't in the normal position. It can be formed on the underside of the head, or sometimes it's further down the shaft. Nowadays surgery would usually be offered when a baby, but if this hasn't happened, it really could make aiming harder.

Yuk ,I expect he lives alone!

Put a note up above the loo saying :

Men : please sit to pee as this loo has an odd design and splashes all over the floor.

That allows him to save face - you're not calling him a dirty sod who can't pee straight, and saves your floor. Plus hopefully makes him think for future.

Or if you don't mind potential confrontation, tell him when he arrives that in your house men need to sit to pee as you don't have time to wash the floor every day.

Yeah, I wish women would learn how to speak directly and deal with confrontation. It's her home, her rules. I would ask him to use a public toilet going forward due to hygiene / cleanliness concerns. I won't let strange men use my bathroom precisely because I cannot stop them standing up to urinate and can't force them to put the lid down before flushing.

I think realistically this is the best way forward, moreso than a sign or telling them they must pee sitting down. I think it’s understandable women are funny about talking to strange men about whether they stand or sit peeing and even more so about policing it!

Sorry but growing up I seen some tradesmen be very aggressive to my (single) mother who was not afraid to confront them. And it’s not that I can’t speak up for myself, but it’s that I would rather than not have the unpleasant confrontations my mum had with them.

Unfortunately the type to be disrespectful in your bathroom are also often the type to be aggressive and unreasonable.

We've had awful and excellent tradesmen working for us over the years. I think it comes down to their upbringing and the personal standards they've been allowed to develop.

But even so, even if they have come from a chaotic home, their training should have emphasised to them that their workplace will usually be someone else's home, and that, whatever their own backgound, they need to show respect for it.

I often wonder just what is involved in training some tradesmen - they do need to pass actual qualifications, don't they?? Surely there will have been a bit about professional conduct? Or am I the world's most naive homeowner???
