So apparently the big one is coming and they are landing at our bases on route.

One wonders if this big one was delayed due to starmers flip flops ?

IS there any surprise left ...what are they.bombing now ?

Thelostjewels · 06/03/2026 20:52
  • starmers TV response recently was awful. He looked absolutely terrified.

Oh FFS

The £1bn Serco contract for in-port services at Portsmouth, was renewed in May 2025 and ended 24/7 staffing in favor of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekday hours in order to cut costs.

At the time Prospect union criticised the new contract and workers went on strike last year in protest of the new contract, warning that it would not stand up to operational pressure.

Guess what it didn't...

UK cut staff hours at key naval base handling Cyprus drone strike

Defense workers union argues deal at naval home of HMS Dragon undermined readiness for a crisis.

Iran are state sponsors of terrorism, we dont want hezbollah/hamas and other nutters to have access to nukes. It is everyone's war. We should be thanking the US and Israel for doing this.

You mean you don’t. I don’t agree with the strategy. Very many do not.

Trump is going for Cuba next, should we join him?

And Israel is lining up Turkey. Or at least Naftali Bennett has hinted at it.

Gloriia · 07/03/2026 05:42

'This person apparently fancies themselves to be a 'senior politician'. A senior fantacist perhaps or is that you Kemi?'

I said 'As a senior politician I think it is not unreasonable to expect them to speak powerfully, not nasally, to look relaxed not nervy and to actually make you feel they are in charge' I was obviously referring to KS, not me hun. Though I would make a better job.

Did you mean fantasist perchance? Not it's not me kemi. Hope that helps.

rainingsnoring · 07/03/2026 08:23

Apologies, I clearly misunderstood your post, reading it too quickly, and not having read the preceding ones. In fairness, your sentence construction isn't great so it was easy to misunderstand. Thanks for correcting my spelling mistake.

whereisitnow · 07/03/2026 09:06

I wonder if people realise that , despite not being involved, we will pay for this war. There is a big inflation wave coming, apparently.

Exactly we're in it anyway being alleged allies of the US and Israel so we will suffer any retaliation, terrorist attacks, fuel rises etc and may as well have actually shown 100% support from the beginning. Instead we are jihadi targets plus have pissed the US off. Great stuff Starmer 🙄.

Thelostjewels · 06/03/2026 20:49

@1dayatatime dunkirk Indeed.
Absoltuy ...sorry guys !.we have to wait on the beach for several hours whilst we have our tea and biscuits

Indeed - we might be sitting ducks for German bombers and tanks but we've exceeded our operational hours and require a tea break.

As a previous poster said "Safety first".

This just confirms to me that the UK is no longer capable of defending itself whether it be against Russia or Iran or Liechtenstein.

You would have front line troops complaining of being forced to wear the same clothes (uniform) as everyone else, a lack of a soy milk option in the rations and whether the bombs they are using are ecologically sourced.

Still doesn't mean we should join the war

Are you really comparing my comment about modern safety measures for a pilot's flying hours with Dunkirk?

PandoraSocks · 07/03/2026 10:01

The comparisons to Dunkirk are so ludicrous I wonder if posters actually know much about it.

Oh get real ffs. Britain is not at war with anyone. The Iranians are not massing their invasion fleet in the ports of France and Belgium. Akrotiri is just a forward base for the Israeli/ US forever war at this stage. The Gulf States are not a British Protectorate. It isn't 1956 anymore. Time to abandon these ridiculous and grandiose delusions. Stop meddling and fix things at home for a change.

I really hope you aren’t a senior politician. Yes, we are going to suffer economic consequences from this as are many nations but do you really think that we should have followed Trump into an illegal war and should dance to his tune?

Do read the posts, I'm not a senior politician no. It was apparently my dreadful sentence construction that lead a pp to think so. It was clarified earlier.

An illegal war. Says who? They are state sponsors of terrorism. Yes we should have supported the US ans Israel from the word go.

Is it a war? I think the US were a bit confused about whether they could call it that.

Gloriia · 07/03/2026 10:46

Does anyone pay any attention the UN 'rapporteurs' after all the bollocks they spouted re gaza and 'hamas said'. Maybe Tom Fletcher could post some selfies we haven't seen any for a while.

Hyacinthbucketsgarden · 07/03/2026 10:47

The words that jump out are 'Analysts say' and 'appear'.

Analysts say the joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran appear to breach the UN Charter’s prohibition on aggression.

So this is the opinion of 'analysts', whoever they are.

What has the UN to say about this - and does it matter?

People call the United Nations a “toothless tiger” for a simple reason. It looks powerful on paper, but it often fails to stop wars, protect civilians, or prevent mass suffering.

What has it ever done to help the Iranian people ?

Because it doesn't constitute lawful self defence against an armed attack. Preventative disarmament and regime change constitute an internationally recognised crime of aggression no matter how much we despise the regime in question. If I walk down the street and punch someone just in case they punch me, this would not be legally justified.
