On the news. Are we supposed to be impressed? They are just being shuffled elsewhere, aren't they?

So what about today’s news where an illegal immigrant who arrived illegally on a boat raped a woman a month after arriving in UK. We now have the cost of keeping him in prison for 14 years. He should be sent back to where he came from. Maybe that would give his victim some justice.
The problem is we don’t know who is coming into the country.
This is a risk, therefore do we allow people fleeing their countries to come to the UK and abuse people.

@mollypuss1 "The response of the privileged, “Sorry you’re dying but it’s not happening to me so I don’t actually give a shit”.
Yeah that kinda sounds like what a lot of British people who are not being negatively affected by all these illegals flooding into Britain are saying alright. 😂

But I thought we were ALL being negatively affected. I thought immigrants were to blame for all our problems. I can’t keep up with who we’re blaming for what anymore on this thread.

Well people with more money are being less negatively affected now aren't they 🙄but who gives a shit about the poorer at the bottom right? Like you said if it's not happening to you who gives a shit, never a truer word said!

How are people with more money being less negatively affected? What exactly is happening that those with more money don’t give a shit about?

Poetnojo · 27/02/2026 18:47

Those with more money are less negatively affected by the influx of illegal immigrants because of their jobs, where they live, maybe not having to rely on public transport so much etc. Do you really not get that 😂
They don't give a shit about the negative affects on the poorer British people.
If its not affecting you directly you just don't give a shit.
Very ' let them eat cake'

A big thing will be the neighbourhoods they live in. They are not experiencing the antisocial behaviour, groups of men hanging round in the street etc.

I honestly think people who fully support migration at these levels should be the ones to welcome migrants into their neighbourhoods. Certainly it would help integration if they were spread out a bit.

Clavinova · 27/02/2026 18:55

Your link says;

But the data is incomplete, as the NPCC said the information on ethnicity was available for only 34% of suspects in the whole of 2023 and for only 39% of suspects in the first nine months of 2024.

You’re still not explaining how those with more money are less negatively affected and, more importantly, what these negative affects actually are that affect poorer people more.

‘because of their jobs’ - what relation does someone’s job have to the impact of immigration on them?

‘where they live?’ - same question as above?

’not relying on public transport’ - again, how does immigration affect poorer people’s use of public transport?

See this is the point, I live in a VERY poor northern town. There is a hotel a short walk from me, in my neighbourhood, that houses hundreds of asylum seekers. The only anti social behaviour I ever see is from the flag shagging dickheads who stand outside all day (unless it’s raining of course) shouting vile abuse at anyone who comes and goes. These are not patriots, these are racists, plain and simple.

Our safety, security and our economic prosperity.

And a young lad I know from Crowborough told me how the Afghani migrants in the area have harassed and hassled his girlfriend and his girlfriend's mum.

So some asylum seekers are dickheads just like some British people are dickheads, just like some people of every nationality are dickheads.

Don't import more dickheads or import more people from a country where they chance they'd be a dickhead is significantly higher?

And he would be horrified by the rise of the far right that he fought so hard to stop. We have the anti fascists (your dgf) to thank for the freedoms and privileges we now.

He just did what he had to do.

Ok, how do we do this? You can’t tell who is going to be a dickhead by looking at them.

Which countries have the highest chance of producing dickheads?

You're completely ignoring everything. Do you think the average Afghan, Sudanese and Somalian man is as likely to commit crime here as an Aussie, American or a European? Of course not.

The facts are clear. Don't import the third world.

I live in a very poor part of a Northern city. Unfortunately I do see antisocial behaviour from migrants on a regular basis. There seems to be a divide between second generation or those who have been here longer and more recent arrivals though. (With the more recent arrivals being the antisocial ones). I haven't seen any "flag shagging dickheads" although I think it's to do with the part of the city, not that they don't exist!

In police-recorded and conviction data, foreign-born males show higher per-capita rates of sexual offences (including rape) than British-born males.

What the main UK data sources show

  1. Police, court, and prison statistics
Using Home Office, CPS, and Ministry of Justice data: Foreign-born males are overrepresented per capita among: suspects convicted offenders prisoners for sexual offences This is especially pronounced among: recent immigrants asylum-seeking populations men from regions with very different gender norms and legal standards around consent So per capita, male immigrants commit more sexual offences compared to British males.

You do have some concept of probability right?

CostOfLoving · 27/02/2026 20:07

@Poetnojo

There's data on this from another country, I think. I forget which one! But it was interesting reading. They'd broken down different types of crime by nationality.
