That article really shows how people will happily vote to bring harm to themselves as long as groups they dislike are impacted. Jesus.

Dweetfidilove · 17/02/2026 17:40

PandoraSocks · 17/02/2026 17:22

It is quite sad, but begs the question- Why are they more concerned about the President handling immigrants (a problem they do not have), than the President providing you with adequate health care and employment opportunities?

It's not incumbent on me to be more sympathetic to people who care more about harming others, than helping themselves.

Says Labour voters looking at job figures. Or maybe not given the denial.

I don’t give a fuck about Labour or its voters. I have no idea why you are trying to derail a Farage thread to discuss Labour.

And so, we return to the 2024 GE.

I agree with you both @Dweetfidilove @JHound it is inexplicable.

This was my point!!!

His policies are harming their community but because he is removing immigrants (of which his community has hardly any) they are cheering and whooping. Make it make sense!!

Obviously the damaged caused that would result in a Reform vote is relevant to many. You might feel immune to that for whatever reason but people do want to have jobs.

You might not give a fuck but plenty will if jobs keep going. Are you not able to see why Reform might get in? It’ll be Labour’s failings and that has actual impact now. To most if not you.

“Hey Siri - what is accountability?”

I'd love to see Labour out. Sadly it won't happen for several more years during which time they insist on gifting UK land and money to other countries. Firstly gifting Chagis Islands to Mauritius which has never owned these Islands and are 1600 miles away, now I see they now want to gift trillions to African countries because of past generations slavery reparations. They are not fit to govern with their tax frauds and mismanagement of economy. They had 14 years of planning to get it right yet continually get it wrong. KS dies so many U turns he must be dizzy.

You make them sound much like the last Tory government. Fraudsters, tax evaders, give awayers...

I don't care for KS, but that's fine, as we won't have long to wait before they are back in power. Once they've all deflected to Reform, Nigel will have enough scammers to lead us to 'glory'🎊.

Good idea for Starmer and Reeves. Well done.

DeepBlueDeer · 17/02/2026 17:56

I'm not as worried as I was, maybe 6 months ago, that Reform could win a GE.

They're still the highest polling party but not by much. Yougov latest:

Reform - 24%
Lab - 19%
Con - 18%
Green - 17%
Lib Dem - 13%

With the SNP and Plaid doing well in their respective nations.

I'm inclined to think the left (who are more used to it) will be more inclined to vote tactically, and the Reform + Tory share is currently (on those numbers, at least) only 42%.

Given how bad things are for Labour at the moment, I also think they're probably in "the only way is up" territory, and a leadership change at some point would likely help...

And Rupert Lowe might put a dent in Reform, too.

Dontcallmescarface · 17/02/2026 18:02

I don't think he has any intention of being PM. All that work and constant scrutiny not to mention the fact that he'll be the focus of PMQ's every week, he'll be out of the commons faster than a greyhound out of the trap, leaving somebody else to mop up his mess.

Cleo65 · 17/02/2026 18:03

I can't handle Keir Starmer being PM but here we are 🤷🏼‍♀️

Designless · 17/02/2026 18:20

FrostyFlo · 17/02/2026 10:50

I won't agree or disagree with you . Your political views are yours as mine are .
However , what will you do if it happens , emigrate ?

Probably die a lot younger than I otherwise would have done (and definitely be out of work a lot younger).

Boomer55 · 17/02/2026 16:44

Whatever - you might have to put up with it. As with every election, many people get who they didn’t want. 🤷‍♀️

Yes but until recently that just meant grumbling, maybe paying a bit more tax. Now it means the threat of actual imminent harm to my financial and physical health and it is NO FUN. I am sick of stupidity reigning.

It’s interesting as the lack of accountability has started to surface.

Poor performance by Reform is Labour’s fault.
Poor performance by Labour is not however the Tory’s fault.

Interesting.

ArcticBells · 17/02/2026 18:35

Anyone is better than the prospect of Angela Rayner

menopausalfart · 17/02/2026 18:35

The country is a shit-show because of the Tories. Now people want to vote for the Tories again just because they have a different name? None of this makes sense.
Braverman said a Reform government would 'repeal the Equality Act' on day one if it wins the next election.
She said: "Why does no one in this Government seem to care that it’s white working-class boys who have the worst educational outcomes in our country today? On day one, she has said they will get rid of the Equality Department, scrap the Equality Minister, and repeal the Equality Act.
Employers won't be required to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people; employers would more than likely be able to sack disabled people or not give them a job at all if they ask for adjustments.

BlueJuniper94 · 17/02/2026 18:48

Dweetfidilove · 17/02/2026 17:24

Yes, I think we need a reckoning.

For the poor who vote against their interests.
For the apathetic who 'don't get involved in politics' while this is happening around them.
For the racism deniers.
For those who think their otherwise normal neighbours trying to forge a path in life (like them) are the enemy.
For those who mindlessly lose themselves in imagined Internet warfare.
For the flag raisers...

What does "reckoning" mean?

If Reform does get to form a government, a lot of their voters will get a big shock when they realise what they have actually voted for. No NHS will disproportionately affect Reform voters (older, in low paid jobs or unemployed, in poor health) and mass deportations of foreigners won't make Reform voters' lives any better although they may get a very transient thrill from revelling in the suffering of people they deem unworthy.

Reform politicians have shown no aptitude for running councils and they have delivered some of the highest council tax increases.

Farage is a grifter rather than a grafter. He will love being Prime Minister but will be too lazy to do the work. It will all be an utter shit show.

Complete nonsense. Labour in Wales have whined on endlessly over the years trying to blame the Tories for their complete destruction of the country. Let's hope the Welsh finally see some sense and get rid of them in May.
