The one where the men get their jollies showing their cock and balls. There is a petition which is not getting much traction. You may want to sign if you don't want to encourage this.

How is a child damaged from seeing a naked body?

And if you really do feel like it's harmful, you can just not take them to the naked bike ride.

It must be exhausting getting so overzealous about nothing.

'Our family often went to the naturist stretch of a fabulous wild beach in Norfolk, none of us were traumatised or molested etc.Bodies. So what?'

Yes yes it is fine and dandy in naturist areas, this lot however are doing it to shock and annoy people and that surely goes against the whole ethos of naturism.

I have just had a good read of their website and they really do not seem to want to shock and annoy people. It makes an interesting read actually.

There is an intro before you scroll down : "This site provides information about the World Naked Bike Ride in London. If you continue you will see some non-sexual images of naked bike riders. It is a popular, peaceful, legal, public protest on the streets of London but parental guidance is advised to ensure the beneficial intent of the ride is understood and well received."

There are numerous references to sexual behaviour and arousal not being tolerated, careful sensitive instructions about getting dressed quickly at the end point, not spending time walking around naked, etc. They don't approve skateboarders, scooters etc on the ride, because of the increased 'visual exposure'

Taboo tends to be something involving clutching pearls and need smelling salts.

No, most of us simply don't want to see naked people in public places. It is attempting to shock and embarrass people. Just do it in private clubs there are plenty available

It's very pearl clutchy in here and the smelling salts and filling the air

UnhappyHobbit · 26/01/2026 17:34

I have never heard of this. But why does this not surprise me that some cyclists are into this?

Charlize43 · 26/01/2026 17:34

I thought it was hilarious last year! I didn't know there were so many small willies about.

No, I think I think it should be a monthly thing - maybe the first Thursday of every month.

Catladywithoutacat · 26/01/2026 17:34

Weirdest thing ever but I don’t think it’s that much of a big deal

I'm also trying to figure out what the risk is to children.

They run them over whilst the parents are taking pictures to share their outrage rather than just take their children to a local park.

Edited

Well why do it if not to annoy and shock and no I cba googling to read their excuses.
We don't want naked bodies in public.
Tell you what I bet if we all piled into naturist clubs fully clothed they'd all be up in arms with their strict kit off rules. Seems one rule for them..

Get a grip.

On an erection? 😱

Sausagepickle123 · 26/01/2026 17:37

I saw this by accident last year. They cycled right by where I live. Was with my young child and it didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Couldn't actually see much and it was a mix of men and women. I was just glad to see those that had hired bikes had covered the seats!

cleaningthebog · 26/01/2026 13:38

Do you think it's healthy to normalise children seeing men with erections in public? I think this is a major safeguarding risk.

It's telling children not to be afraid of them.

I saw it once as it passed by me when i was in London . I didn't see any men with erections! All I remember seeing were bare bottoms and breasts! Definitely not all men.

TheatreTheatre · 26/01/2026 17:37

Penises are not harmful. Breasts are not harmful. Bums are not harmful

As someone said up thread-and many agreed with a child won't explode from seeing a penis or a bum.

It just needs normalising-we should be used to seeing naked bodies and the more bike rides, fun runs etc that are held in order to make naked bodies in public the norm, the better.

It will be a great family event filled with joy, laughter and hope. Hope for the future when clothes are merely optional in the street, in shops, in schools, in hospitals and yes, in bike rides!

oldFoolMe · 26/01/2026 17:44

actually got caught out one year as the route was on the way to the children’s hospital. The hospital is in the city and we had no idea until a police motorist pulled up in front of us and the children and I all got an eyeful. I’m not against it - but against it being around children’s hospitals.

I don't know.

Why does is not surprise you?

Being married to a cyclist, I can't think what you mean.

What the actual fuck??

Is it actually possible to have an erection while riding a bike??

seaelephant · 26/01/2026 17:47

Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children

MarioLink · 26/01/2026 17:48

I'm pretty sure my daughter saw it in London when she was a young child. It did her no harm whatsoever and seemed to have plenty of women participating too. I think it's fine for her to see normal naked bodies doing something non-sexual.

Reminds me of the Queen bicycle race video

BookAndPiano · 26/01/2026 17:26

Yes, of course but it is still taboo.

This is about removing the taboo

Well it's not taboo apparently according to the poster above you 🤷‍♀️

And it's not taboo to do lots of things. People still don't do them

In fact, people are less likely to do something that isn't taboo because the shock value isn't there

I take part in the rides in various cities. It’s a lot of fun.

Not seen an erection.

The clothed guys coming around with their long lens cameras are more a problem than the riders.

The routes of all rides are publicised so if you wish you can avoid that (tiny) part of the city for the few hours it’s happening the one day of the year.
