The one where the men get their jollies showing their cock and balls. There is a petition which is not getting much traction. You may want to sign if you don't want to encourage this.

And do people really have to be so hateful and nasty about the bodies of old or middle-aged people or those that are a bit overweight..? It's a bit disturbing. Maybe people could try working on their hang-ups rather than whipping themselves into a lather about this harmless bike ride...

Oh no it's the slippery slope!

Thankfully, slopes are usually slippery until we are whizzing down them gathering momentum.

20 years ago, people wouldn't have dreamed of going to the supermarket in a dressing gown-whyever not-but thanks to a few brave pioneers, now it is nothing unusual.

Someone always has to start. It's often tiny steps to the top of that slippery slope-people don't always notice and then suddenly, it's chocs away and we're free wheeling down it!

Many years ago, any man who said he wanted to play in women's sports would have been abused, treated as if he was a pervert and now we all-including institutions cheer them on.

Some brave soul had to take tiny steps to the top of that slope and now, thank goodness, it is the norm.

As I say, nakedness in public is the last taboo but these brave souls are taking tiny steps to normalise it.

God Bless Them I say!

Do you think it's healthy to normalise children seeing men with erections in public? I think this is a major safeguarding risk.

It's telling children not to be afraid of them.

Firstly, these charity bike rides happen in most large cities. The one in Manchester has been going for 15+ years and not once have I seen any of the men cycling with erections and none of the many women that partake are so aroused that they are sliding off the seat of the bike.

There is zero risk to children.

If your greatest source of fulfilment in your life right now is trolling Mumsnet, I'm treating talking to you as community service. Volunteering with the less fortunate. You're welcome ❤️

Its not easy to avoid if it goes right passed your house. I'd just left my front door with toddler and baby in a buggy when 30 or 40 of these goons flew passed meters away from us and yes it was very clear to see that some were erect. No warning from council, but apparantly they'd attached something to a lamppost further up the street. So I shouldve known. Oh but it's just a bit of fun right? No it's not ok. Signed, and thanks for sharing.

So you pay no attention to events happening in YOUR town, and its everyones elses fault?

I live near Brighton, and always managed to avoid the naked bike ride AND Pride

ByWarmShark · 26/01/2026 17:09

I like the naked bike ride. It's mostly middle aged hippies and because of the way saddles work and because they're cycling, apart from a few boobs there's not much on show. I saw it last year with my kids. We had a bit of a giggle but the kids didn't actually see anything really (they were a bit disappointed not to see more bums)

Kelta · 26/01/2026 17:10

Addressing the comment about erections - Surely it's very uncommon for men to have erections when riding a bike. I thought frequent cycling contributed to erectile dysfunction and perineal numbness through nerve damage.

Disclaimer I haven't RTFT.

Absolutely correct.

In the same way, a naked teacher is in a completely non sexual situation and naked shoppers are in a non sexual situation.

In fact, for most of us-me anyway-most of my days are spent in non sexual situations, so most of us can be completely naked all day long.

Bravo to the bikers for pushing at this last taboo! It won't be long now until it falls, especially-maybe 10 years at the most.

Shops and schools are private land which already enforce dress codes which aren't necessarily enforced elsewhere such as not shirts no service and uniform

This is such hyperbole

You can already be naked in public and it's not illegal anyway

Ironically, it's this kind of body shaming that the rid is aiming to tackle

SerendipityJane · 26/01/2026 17:14

England is one of the few countries where nudity is so taboo.

And yet - with an irony lost to most - it's also one of the few countries in the world where public nudity isn't actually illegal full stop.

Erections?!?!
Are you familiar with British weather?
I would predict some pert nipples on both men and women 🧊. But any tumescence would be receding back inside to keep warm 😂 🙈🐢😂

However I have always wondered about narrow saddles, bum cracks, and uncomfortableness when naked. They must be hardy souls. Anyone know how they manage?

I think it’s a bit attention seeking but it doesn’t worry me. All a bit sad really. 🙄

Oh dear this does seem like pathologising and sexualising the human body..

ExtraOnions · 26/01/2026 17:19

Two naked people on a Tandem (one male, one female), rode through here a few months ago. I could not see his cock as he was sat on a bike. I did see her tits though, it was not at all sexual.

…lots of jokes on the local FB group about squashed plums

You're 100% right-they do.

But they may not do when in the future when nudity is accepted as normal and that is what our brave boys-and a few lasses- but mostly boys-are hoping for.

They are the pioneers. People cheer their delicious nakedness on and it does become harder to enforce dress codes-if we can cycle naked then why not other things-is there something special about bikes?

No, tthey're chipping away-as transwomen had to do-tiny, tiny steps until it is accepted.

So yes, you are right about the dreadful dress codes but naked bike rides mean that eventually they will be harder to enforce.

If I can cycle naked, why can't I walk down the street naked?

If I can walk down he street naked, why can't I work naked?

No, tiny baby steps-like this bike ride. It's only a few old prudes who object because as most posters say, what is harmful about a naked male body in public-nothing.

My husband is going on it and I'm very proud of his small push to get nudity accepted in public.

You're yammering utterly strawman rubbish on

You can ALREADY walk down the street naked

HTH

It's taboo

Taboo tends to be something involving clutching pearls and need smelling salts.

No, most of us simply don't want to see naked people in public places. It is attempting to shock and embarrass people. Just do it in private clubs there are plenty available

Yes, of course but it is still taboo.

This is about removing the taboo

Tryagain26 · 26/01/2026 17:27

How is banning this protecting children? What is wrong with them seeing the naked body? The cyclists aren't interacting with the children or harming them

LadyTangerine · 26/01/2026 17:27

'My husband is going on it and I'm very proud of his small push to get nudity accepted in public'

Small push? That's a new one Grin.

We don't want cocks in public thanks.

jazzhands84 · 26/01/2026 17:27

Must find the details, would HATE to embarrass my teenager
