The one where the men get their jollies showing their cock and balls. There is a petition which is not getting much traction. You may want to sign if you don't want to encourage this.

Every year a naked bike ride goes past my house with equal amounts of women and men. It’s a non threatening fun event celebrating cycling and highlighting the vulnerability of cyclists on the road. I’ve never yet seen any of them with an erection. I think you’re over reacting.

BookAndPiano · 26/01/2026 16:37

Of course not.

I think everyone should be naked whenever and wherever.
It really is old prudes who think children could be harmed by a perfectly normal male or female body.

Every journey starts with a single step and these riders are normalising one of the last old taboos and good on them and good luck to them. If anything, they are making it very difficult for people to be prosecuted under indecency exposure laws. I mean, for goodness sake, what is indecent about a naked body?

Nothing is the answer

Once this dreadful suburban, 1950s attitude has been eventually ditched and this is one of the first steps, then teachers will be able to teach naked, surrounded by naked pupils-only, very importantly, if they choose to of course-no-one will be forced just as no-one will be forced to be clothed.

Doctors will hold consultations naked, allowing patients to see that normal bodies are just that...normal. It will also take the embarrassment out of patients having to show their naked body if the doctor is naked too,

And maybe, and this one is a bit flippant, a bit tongue in cheek, we will be able to see what our dates look like in the nude immediately.

So, Yes, Yes to naked bike riding as the first step, the first pedal, to doing away with outdated laws and outdated attitudes! And Yes, Yes, to the majority of Mumsnetters who are cool enough to agree!

Edited

Oh funny haha.

Teacher couldn't teach nude for all that laughing.

Doctors are in a 121 situation with patients which is completely different.

Seeing most people naked wouldn't help their dating prospects, as evidenced by all the fat, old, ugly comments.

'Our family often went to the naturist stretch of a fabulous wild beach in Norfolk, none of us were traumatised or molested etc.Bodies. So what?'

Yes yes it is fine and dandy in naturist areas, this lot however are doing it to shock and annoy people and that surely goes against the whole ethos of naturism.

LadyTangerine · 26/01/2026 16:44

Yes love, in your dreams maybe Confused.

England is one of the few countries where nudity is so taboo.

Yabu. There is nothing wrong with being naked, and if you don't want to see it, then stay away.

I doubt it's possible to ride a bike with an erect penis. The physics would be improbable!

It isn't taboo. We just don't like seeing naked bodies in areas where clothing is required, all done to shock.
Go to a naturist club.

Are you American, OP? I think you'll have difficulty stirring up hysteria about nakedness among Europeans, as we are pretty laid back about it.

The only issue I have with it is a lot of them seem to use Lime bikes, it's put me right off renting one now I know someone's sweaty balls have been all over it.

It's totally natural but male genitalia is ugly at any age let's be honest about this.

There's really no need for that sort of comment. Women are on the receiving end of endless commentary about how supposedly "ugly" our genitalia are, and that has many damaging effects on our sex.

I don't understand people who have such an aversion to normal and healthy genitalia - especially when the sex possessing that genitalia are supposedly the target of that person's sexual desires. Talk about neurosis!

BookAndPiano · 26/01/2026 16:51

What's funny about it? @Beakthrough

It's ok to ride a bike naked but not do other things. What's so special about riding a bike?

When you say doctors couldn't do it because it's a 1 to 1 situation, what if they are in a ward with lots of other people around?

a teacher wouldn't be in a 1 to 1 situation would he?
Could a bike rider only be naked if he is a pack.

What if he wants to ride naked on his own.

Are you saying you wouldn't like to see a naked male shopper in Tesco. Is it only acceptable if there are a bunch of them? What logic is that then.

Have you ever heard of Establishment of Principle? If you accept a bollock load of naked men riding their bikes on public streets is fine, you will-eventually-find that the principle of people being naked is public places is accepted.

You seem to be saying Yes Please to lots of naked men but no thanks to just one.

The only person talking about snail trails here is you. Look through my previous posts in the thread; I haven't used those words once.

Mapletree1985 · 26/01/2026 16:53

Can anyone explain to me how children are harmed by seeing - at a distance, and in a completely non-sexual, non-private context, in fact a context bordering on the comic - a naked human being?

Why would an American petition to stop a naked bike ride in London? I'm American, I have no issue with it. 🤷‍♀️

Do you think it's healthy to normalise children seeing men with erections in public? I think this is a major safeguarding risk.

It's telling children not to be afraid of them.

You are being ridiculous!

Justchillinhere · 26/01/2026 16:54

Theres So much bad in the world and you feel this event harms children! Your petition isn't getting traction cos nobody cares.

Absolutely correct.

In the same way, a naked teacher is in a completely non sexual situation and naked shoppers are in a non sexual situation.

In fact, for most of us-me anyway-most of my days are spent in non sexual situations, so most of us can be completely naked all day long.

Bravo to the bikers for pushing at this last taboo! It won't be long now until it falls, especially-maybe 10 years at the most.

MayaPinion · 26/01/2026 16:58

Ok so let’s just make it legal for anyone to be naked at any time so long as they’re not aroused?

It literally is legal!
