If so, why and what colour?

I used to do it for fun when younger, but now at 48 have a fair few greys so will do again, does it look natural?

I use e-salon, & I love it! Costs me around £27 a treatment & I do it every 8 weeks. They provide an initial custom colour, then you can adjust it with their colourists (actual people). The application technique results in a very natural looking blended colour. It is actually better than a number of salon colourings I have had in the past, plus you are at home, so you can get on with other things. Started during Covid & I never looked back!

I did esalon for years, they're excellent! I only stopped as I want to grow out my grey and I need a semi permanent colour now.

I'm planning to dye my own hair so thanks for the thread @Wishmeloveawishingwellkissandtell

If anyone can recommend a permanent dye they like, and any tips for beginners that would be so appreciated thanks 😊

I’ve done my own hair dying since my early 20s (I’m now 62), and have been through many colours from punk black to dark brown, then mid-brown and have been going progressively lighter until now I’m a baby blonde which I love! I started with all the cheap ones, L’Oreal, Garnier, Schwarzkopf but now I use Josh Wood colour which I buy on mail order subscription, and it comes with a ‘shade shot’ which stops it being one flat colour. Looks much more natural.
Make sure you have an old top to wear, have a dark towel and a colour brush to apply it. I never use the nozzle on the bottle. I don’t bother with stain cream as I find a wipe with a wet cloth works fine. You need two mirrors so that you can see the back of your head, and I always do the back first. I usually leave it on longer than they say as my hair is able to take it. I did it today - not sure the photo does it justice!

Did mine, after an almost 10 year gap, encouraged by this thread. BRASSY is the look I have achieved.

I quite often dye my own roots. My colourist charges eye watering prices and it’s a faff to get to her in central London. She gave me the colours to buy and the ratios. My hair is an ashy light brown (it’s actually very dark brown naturally but with a fair bit of grey).

I’m pretty good at doing it tbh. My husband does the back for me.
