To feel very sorry for Vicky B

Yes, we don’t know the full story, but so many things being said about the dance story being untrue-they had already had their dance, she’d also danced with her father, Vb was reportedly called onto the stage by her friend, Marc A and was shy to do so. She comes across as a very awkward, sad person, David seems to dislike her and speak down to her. I can imagine she must be devastated and so humiliated by this. No matter the issues, Brooklyn shouldn’t have issued the problems publicly.
I know a lot about issues with Mil’s but my instinct tells me that this could be her and perhaps she has been difficult from the start. She doesn’t have a reputation for being a nice person at all, even before all this and it’s been said there may have been similar situations in the past with an ex of hers.
In comparison, I’ve never seen anyone say a bad word about Vb, the opposite in fact, she seems to have a great relationship with all her other children and the partners, plus a good relationship with Db’s family
She just must feel so devastated and humiliated, your first born that you held in your arms as a baby.

All so sad

'Born into the brand'? What? Like a tube of toothpaste? A commodity? Please explain.

'He is where he is because he was born into the brand. To publicly make his detailed statement is unforgiveable, no matter what's gone on.'

He says they have been briefing the media against him and Nicola. He says he's been bullied and controlled by his parents his whole life. Was he supposed to just take the high road forever? He kept his mouth shut for a long time and everyone has their limits. I can understand how a person who has had those experiences could crack and decide that they just can't stay silent any longer

Yes, he has said a lot but that doesn't mean it's all an accurate depiction. The whole thing is a sorry mess. It's Harper I feel for. She's seeing all of this going on at such a young impressionable age. Nobody can doubt how much the Beckhams love their kids.

PinkPanther57 · 20/01/2026 12:19

If that’s really the worst & most shaming thing he’s ever endured, as he says, lucky & self absorbed Brooklyn.

Edited

To be fair, she was being a bellend.

BrieAndChilli · 20/01/2026 12:21

at the end of the day there are 3 sides to every story and the truth is somewhere in the middle. As the late Queen said 'recollections may vary'

I don't doubt that the beckhams like every family have problems. Kids dont see the parents point of view and vice versa.
It is the publics endless obsession with celebrity though that means it all has to be played out on the world stage.

Tinyssek · 20/01/2026 12:21

Nope. I know what it’s like having an evil, self obsessed MIL who tries to ruin your wedding.

If it’s true the rest of the children will slowly start to fall like domino’s over the coming years. Multiple of my DHs siblings are NC with their Mum, for good reason.

Good on Brooklyn, it was very brave of him to call her out, she is a total cow.

😂 Do you know her??

I wouldn’t say they did much of that at all though, compared to many other celeb families? Back in the day it was normal to do photoshoots etc and even then I don’t remember knowing everything about their kids

It wasn't and isn't normal.

There are many famous people who have families who just get on with life and take steps to keep their children out of the limelight and don't make money out of their child's birthday/holidays etc. They didn't do OK and Hello magazines.

Then there are those who make money and use their children to raise their status. I think if you do that - you are have to take the consequences if the media or your child turns in a way you cannot control. Brand Beckham took it to a different level. And part of it was parading their children out at many opportunities.

Its totally sad.
Brooklyn B is probably one screwed up young man. Hope he has therapy before he becomes a parent.

Refuse the high performance cars & goodies then, a long time ago & make a statement with a fiesta or vauxhall.

BertieWoostersChaps · 20/01/2026 12:22

No matter what - it's appalling and unforgivable to post all that publicly. None of them have any class. NP comes across as spoilt and difficult.

DoveTurtle · 20/01/2026 12:22

Brooklyn shouldn’t have issued the problems publicly.

I’ve been saying the same about Victoria since the 90s. Shame she didn’t take heed!

1457bloom · 20/01/2026 12:23

AllIdoistidyup · 20/01/2026 12:20

He mentions this in his statement - that they tried to bribe him into signing away the rights to his name. I can only assume this means his surname, so they don't want for example him and Nicola to start a chain of restaurants called "Beckham's".

The irony is that her family is way more loaded than the Beckhams!

BertieWoostersChaps · 20/01/2026 12:23

Never heard of her referred to as Vicky B though 😂

LochSunart · 20/01/2026 12:23

@1457bloom The only ridiculous thing about my suggestion is the lack of imagination in the list of possible careers. He can do anything he wants, in the same way as anyone else: start at the bottom and work his way up, which is what his father did.

Stayinitstoocold · 20/01/2026 12:23

AllIdoistidyup · 20/01/2026 12:17

Did I say it was? Jeez, are you her best mate or what?

Sorry I thought you were saying it was, apologies

NP & co look similar in wedding texts & ridiculous sued planners fiasco.

Stayinitstoocold · 20/01/2026 11:47

But there are reports of it not being the first dance, that they’d already had a dance and she’d danced with her dad? The way he’s described it is his opinion (or more likely hers) she could have been cuddling her son on his wedding day, all perfectly normal things. It’s truly horrible for a son to say that to the public about his own mother.
It’s unforgivable

Maybe it's true and he doesn't want to be 'forgiven'.

Just a thought.

boxofbuttons · 20/01/2026 12:25

I don't think many kids in his position - widely loved, extremely famous parents - would put a statement out like that if there weren't real, ongoing issues. There's no way of knowing how much is true, but there were sources at the time talking about issues at the wedding and both Brooklyn & his wife being upset about it, so it has at least a ring of truth. Plus the stuff about relentless promotion and 'brand Beckham' when they were kids is fairly obvious: those kids were paraded around constantly.

And like I said: that's not the statement of someone lashing out randomly. That's someone who's been receiving bad press for months to years making him and his wife out to be terrible people and finally deciding to even out the public chatter, knowing full well that lots and lots of people will be horrible to him about it. I think that's actually quite brave, and doesn't come from nowhere. Whatever the issues are, there are clearly issues.

mbosnz · 20/01/2026 12:25

Fer crying out loud, it minds my boggle how invested people are in people they don't know, speak about them as familiarly as friends and family, projecting all sorts of motives, intentions, thoughts and feeling on them. It's just plain weird!

Stayinitstoocold · 20/01/2026 12:25

ReturnOfTheToad · 20/01/2026 12:18

I feel sorry for her too and I had a horribly emotionally abusive mother. I would never call out my mother to millions of people. Life is long and messy, people rarely do the things that they do that hurt you because they are awful people. It's far more complicated than that. I don't really believe in villains and heroes.

Yes, I don’t have a great relationship either, I would never do this also, the wording about the dancing in particular is humiliating

OP posts:
flapjackfairy · 20/01/2026 12:25

whenever the dance occurred I can fully believe it was cringeworthy as she is always draped over her husband and sons in photographs. I have often thought it looks entirely inappropriate for adult males unless you are married to them

Sartre · 20/01/2026 12:26

I don’t think she comes across as a sad person at all. If you mean the lack of smile, she does it to prevent wrinkles… Awkward perhaps, I think she’s introverted but also think she’s always been hugely ambitious and recognised she would only maintain fame if she married another big name like Beckham. We wouldn’t be talking about her if not, just as we don’t really hear about the other band members.

I believe Brooklyn 100% and feel for him. I can totally imagine her being an awful overbearing MIL. I think she was jealous he married someone from a wealthier family than theirs.

He has married into a billionaire family and his own family is worth a few quid. Are you seriously suggesting he becomes a trainee bricklayer and works his way up the ladder!
