Yes, we don’t know the full story, but so many things being said about the dance story being untrue-they had already had their dance, she’d also danced with her father, Vb was reportedly called onto the stage by her friend, Marc A and was shy to do so. She comes across as a very awkward, sad person, David seems to dislike her and speak down to her. I can imagine she must be devastated and so humiliated by this. No matter the issues, Brooklyn shouldn’t have issued the problems publicly.
I know a lot about issues with Mil’s but my instinct tells me that this could be her and perhaps she has been difficult from the start. She doesn’t have a reputation for being a nice person at all, even before all this and it’s been said there may have been similar situations in the past with an ex of hers.
In comparison, I’ve never seen anyone say a bad word about Vb, the opposite in fact, she seems to have a great relationship with all her other children and the partners, plus a good relationship with Db’s family
She just must feel so devastated and humiliated, your first born that you held in your arms as a baby.

All so sad

Have never pissed myself while drunk (more of a vomitter) but I’d hope if I did DH might be a bit more sympathetic than DB.

Hozier has beautiful hair.

Why are they disgraceful? She's completely covered.

The ones when she was 11, showing cleavage. Even at 13/14 showing cleavage with no bra. Putting her at risk of stalkers.

FunMustard · 20/01/2026 23:09

Brooklyn comes across as such a brat. So spoiled and weak. I've read unfavourable things about all of them, but no human is an angel and media and personal perception can be skewed.

I don't really have any other opinion than that, but I did think the Daily Mash title was an interesting take....

I will say I don't remember the Beckham's selling many pics of the kids to the media? And googling doesn't bring up any that aren't candids tbh. I could be wrong. I recall when Harper was born there was very little about her circulated, prob as the media was rabid about a girl after three boys.

I do think Brooklyn under-rates the enormous privilege he grew up with. He has had opportunities that would never have come his way apart from his parents. I suppose it is as the late Queen said, "Recollections may vary". It seems very unfortunate that he couldn't discuss matters privately with his parents who, whatever faults they may have had, are undoubtedly devastated

I agree they must be devastated. But being privileged doesnt mean you should be ok with your parents using you as a publicity prop or controlling your life. Its sad isnt it? We all want to be privileged or very successful. To have the privileges that come with money (may be not that much) but now and again, it shows that privilege can also be a trap and a grindstone around the neck. Sad for all whether what he says is true, partially true or false because clearly something has gone very wrong and family members are hurting. Celebrity life is not all its cracked up to be. Especially for children that - yes have unimaginable privileges - but did not choose the nooses that go with it. We can say being poor and anonymous also has its nooses but sometimes being unknown or at least not famous is in itself a privilege we may not appreciate because we have it and take it for granted. We may have falling outs with family members but it will not make international headlines and result in memes. What a privilege!!!

lazyarse123 · 20/01/2026 23:15

I believe him. You only need to see pictures of Victoria draped all over Brooklyn in various pictures and referring to him as her spare husband. Grim.
It's not his fault he's been spoilt that's down to his parents.

Oneforallandallforone · 20/01/2026 23:17

CloakedInGucci · 20/01/2026 12:26

I think it’s probably a “recollections may vary” situation.

For example, he said VB pulled out of designing the wedding dress “at the 11th hr”. But Peltz’s stylist told vogue that the wedding dress was the result of a year of collaboration and international visits with the team from Valentino. So even if VB was going to design it and changed her mind, it can’t have been that 11th hr. They had enough notice to get Valentino and spend a year working with them.

And if I had a billionaire father, I’d choose a Valentino dress of a VB one..

That isn't necessarily correct. These big weddings always have more than one dress for the various different parts of the day and evening.

Me neither i used to be more of a vomiter. The OP sounded so confident that I thought I was in the minority.

Must be just me then

No, in my twenties I was sometimes caught short and had to wee in a bush etc, I look back now and cringe 😬 I never actually wee’d myself I don’t think, that’s more likely now when I cough or laugh too much 😩

How do you know and how do you know which part Nicola thought was the main event? It wasn't a church wedding was it?

She’s written about all her extensive couture fittings over many months so this dress always centre stage, & it was stunning.

Maybe the VB dress was for the first dance or something then or to eat in or for the change halfway through the night. Who knows. But these people always have multiple dresses.

He has no obligation to be private when sharing anything about his family.

His parents did not afford him privacy growing up. His parents did not afford his wife privacy, leaking nasty little stories to the press.

He doesn't have to take the high road now. The bridge has been burned down by his parents and his parents should be bending over backwards to resolve the issue and salvage what relationship they can. Instead, their response is going to be more about saving their image. That tells you that they are a BRAND first and a family second.

Which is ironic. This is where the only comparison with Prince Harry is appropriate in my opinion. Because understandably, Harry was in a 'Brand First' or 'Institution First' family.

But the difference is at least in Harry's case his family are by existence an institution. They are Royals. Unfortunately that means W&K children's images are printed on tacky royal paraphernalia and all over the net and press.

D&V purposefully set up themselves to be a cheap celebrity institution where their relationship with their children is negotiated through their brand first and foremost. Sadly, when they could have chosen to avoid what the constitutional Monarchy cannot.

RollOnSpring26 · 20/01/2026 23:46

I feel bad for Rebecca loos too
And how they stired things up for her again when they did that documentary which was DB acting like a victim about all the stories about him

No focus on sorry he made a mistake
Just oh press are being mean to me

Calliopespa · 20/01/2026 23:50

JontyGentooey · 20/01/2026 11:48

Absolutely nobody forced the Beckhams to parade their children in front of the press from the moment they were born, selling pictures of them to OK magazine and talking in great personal detail about them during all those media interviews. Nobody asked those kids if that was ok.

Brooklyn has had a shit deal, he can't try and do anything with his life without people calling him a nepo baby or laughing at how rubbish he is, like with his photography or cooking and all the rest of it.

Sounds like he finally told V&D he didn't want to be part of Brand Beckham anymore, they were furious and he finally decided to kick back. All a bit sad really but the only bit we know for sure is 100% true is that they should have given him a basic level of privacy in his childhood. They didn't.

YABU.

I agree with this up to a point, but would also point out that it's the people name-calling and laughing who are at fault as well as his parents in making that situation what it is.

I don't necessarily agree with everything his parents have done along the way, I do think going forward there will be a different attitude to exposing children to media attention, but I guess a lot of parents would do things differently with hindsight. The nature and forms of publicity have changed enormously during Brooklyn's lifetime.

But just being nasty is a mistake everyone should know not to make.

YourKhakiViper · 20/01/2026 23:54

I feel a bit sorry for them all tbh. The whole thing is so public and cringey, what is Brooklyn thinking.

Nobody is going to feel sympathy for him, he’s an immensely privileged young man and has created a circus of gossip and ridicule centred on his own family.

Stayinitstoocold · 20/01/2026 23:54

I wonder how she is tonight

@JontyGentooey "Brooklyn has had a shit deal, he can't try and do anything with his life without people calling him a nepo baby."

He could be

  • a bus driver
  • a teacher
  • a nurse
  • a lorry driver
  • a police officer
  • a bricklayer

etc. And, then, no-one would call him a 'nepo baby'.

I doubt it would actually be safe for him to do a lot of those jobs because of how recognisable his parents have made sure he is.

Totally agree with this.

I really struggle to understand the desire to be famous.

And I think a lot of people have a very child-like view of privilege.

anon666 · 21/01/2026 00:09

There was a saying in the TV programme "Chernobyl", every lie you tell incurs a debt to the truth, and some day it has to be paid.

This feels like that.

The affair with Rebecca Loos was almost certainly just the only one that surfaced. He was probably shagging loads of women. VB decided, with two kids already, that it was worth turning a blind eye.

Now they've had four kids in total, they do apparently live in "separate wings" of the house. This is to allow theor different approaches to social life. Hmm. 🤔

Its none of my business tbh but its obviously his business. He's probably sick of having to maintain the lies and hypocrisy. When you're young, you see these things in black and white.

Although VB may just be trying to keep her family together, the performative nature of it must rankle, now hes essentially part of a bigger, richer, more powerful dynasty.

The harder you try to control things, sometimes the more likely they are to break.

But we don’t know how much is true?? The reports even previous to all this have always been of his wife being an awful person. Who has ever said that about Vb

Surely that's the whole point - Brooklyn tried to set the record straight because the Beckhams kept leaking negative stories about his wife to the press.

I mean look how much excitement a cross family wedding saga has generated.
