As a small c conservative, I think this was an unjustified and illegal shooting.

He drew the gun before she started moving towards him.

Meadowfinch · 08/01/2026 14:00

It underlines that the USA can no longer be regarded as a safe country to visit.

In my opinion, they have crossed the line, to being a rogue state, with a federal government that will lie, swear black is white, to defend the actions of their goons.

whyschoolwhy · 08/01/2026 14:02

To the posters who responded to me on the previous thread, I agree - I do not believe the car struck the officer. He was trigger happy and murdered a woman.

Piggywaspushed · 08/01/2026 14:06

A large number of those photos dead by US law enforcers, particularly women, are in their vehicles.

Why some posters previously couldn't see see why someone might refuse or be too scared to exit a vehicle is beyond me.

Exactly.
I hope as a pp said on the other thread, he will face trial but thats probably unlikely.

Even if she was a protestor and was fleeing the area, its not a reason to kill her, its terrible that some people think this is all ok.

@hyperobject

I copied your post from the last thread, if you don't mind. Quote:

Would you be posting so vociferously if a police officer were shot in similar circumstances by, let’s say, an undocumented person?

Has this happened ? I mean change it to an ICE officer for parity. Has any ICE officers been shot dead?

Trump has posted on Truth Social to say the officer was acting in self defence. Any trial is jeopardised now, by the POTUS making bold declarations no less. And he would pardon him anyway.

My post said ‘police officer’ - I object to your changing the contents of my post.

Please respond accordingly, thanks.

Fair enough. Although we are talking about ICE.

So, have any police been shot by undocumented folk ?

whyschoolwhy · 08/01/2026 14:26

How the Trump administration can claim any credibility when they announced it was in self defence, and that she was a domestic terrorist, when they had conducted no investigation whatsoever defies belief. Or it would if they had any credibility left at all.

Frequency · 08/01/2026 14:33

MaybeNotBob · 08/01/2026 14:24

This clip makes a lot of good points, not least of which that they altered the crime scene by moving the vehicles after the shooting.

Surely, the correct procedure would be to keep everything as it was to allow the scene to be properly processed by investigators? Why did they not do that if they were so sure they were behaving according to the law?

Alexandra2001 · 08/01/2026 14:33

MaybeNotBob · 08/01/2026 14:24

Murder isn't it?

I just saw it again on Sky and its sickening, beyond belief and more akin to what you would expect from the Russians.

Even the Chinese didn't gun down the HK protestors, despite petrol bombs and great deal more provocation...

We then gave asylum to HK ers such was the concern over their safety...

Yet in the US is all ok, endorsed by their President no less.

And Trump called her a "paid agitator".

Invoking the bogeyman. No doubt MAGA news comments are full of "SOROS'.

And it really does sort of explain where his mind is. That anyone who might possibly not agree with his ICE policy is a paid agitator, a radical leftist. And his sycophants chime in with "domestic terrorist". Anyone not 100% with him is 100% against him. That they are not rational, are paid for, radicalized.

And all this before facts were known.

He is insane. There is something missing in him that most other people have.

We were discussing undocumented folk as much as law/immigration enforcement, but the short answer to your question is yes.

Feel free to corroborate.

Hey. Can someone PM the link to the original footage please.

UncannyFanny · 08/01/2026 14:39

Im not sure the need to focus so much in which part of the body was shot but I don’t think she drove at the officers either. I just don’t understand why she was driving away full stop or why people are dismissing that. Obviously the fact she tried to drive away before they opened fire led to the tragic outcome. If armed officers tell you to get out of your vehicle and you carry on driving, you get shot. It has happened in the UK too. Unfortunately what you do next in the moments anfter armed officers tell you to get out of your vehicle matters. Trying to drive away matters.

I'd suggest offering asylum to sensible Americans now trapped in the dystopian hellscape that was once their home but sadly, I don't think it would be much help, as the UK appears to be heading in the same direction.

How's Canada looking these days, and what are the chances they'd welcome us all?

Having well trained, disciplined firearms officers matters too. Which didn't seem to be the case here, unfortunately.

Armed police is one thing. No one wants to end up in the custody of ICE. I imagine a lot of people would rather take their chances driving away.

Also she may have been wanting to leave anyway and assumed that the ICE Officer was going to tell her to leave and stop causing trouble or whatever, and so she thought just driving would resolve the situation anyway.

Regardless, he murdered her and there's no justifying it or blaming her actions. Certainly not on the basis of what we've seen.

More like because the already massively overpopulated UK couldn’t cope with another influx of tens of millions of people?!

Honestly the lack of common sense around immigration and this strange utopian view that our country will magically expand as people arrive is very worrying

FunnyOrca · 08/01/2026 14:47

I don’t understand how stuff like this keeps happening the the UK Government won’t just condemn them as a fascist regime. Why are we still working with them? Why did we host Lord Dampnut? Why haven’t we seized his UK assets? He literally just kidnapped a world leader.

Over the last year, there are multiple documented incidents of ICE behaving both illegally and with complete impunity, detaining people and causing serious injury.
