Feel a bit mean, but so excited for tomorrow

I am the type who normally feels sad holidays are over and kids are back and so on, but this holiday hasn’t been great and I cannot wait for 9 am tomorrow.
I intend to stop at the shop for treats and spend until pick up watching Netflix shows…blissfully alone! (aside from the dogs-who are no trouble)

Fourteen hours and ten minutes to go and if I hear 'poo' 'bum' or 'toilet' one more time I'm going to spontaneously combust us all into the heat death of the universe.

Yanbu, I'm at a stage where I find it great to be off with the kids and get sad when school starts again but I remember some holidays that were really difficult and the immense relief that the school start brought. Enjoy your first day of peace 😊

Sometimes you just need a break from everyone else. I have wfh and around the house chores to catch up on tomorrow, but part of me is looking forward to getting back into a routine, including the usual periods of time alone.

I think they were agreeing with you and saying they are looking forward to a quote where the op said she didn't work.

I’m excited for you OP! I’m back to work tomorrow (teacher) but my DD is grown up and spends very little time at home these days, so I’ve had the house to myself lots over the last 2 weeks, enjoying snacks and tv. It’s been wonderful but I am ready for a bit of routine now and looking forward to going back tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to Thursday which will be my first day to myself this year. I hope that's allowed as I worked all last week- I'm not sure on the exact rules some pp seem to be following for being allowed a day off 😉

The op hasn't said she doesn't work.
As she pointed out not every one works 9-5.
Some of us worked shifts all over Christmas.
Doesn't mean we get to be cunty about it.
What does it matter to you what other people do.

I don’t work Mondays and will have the house to myself so also looking forward to it although place is a mess so I’ll end up spending time sorting it but I’m going to do it in peace listening to podcasts 😊
