Mine would be to ban repeat offenders who don't return to the threads they start.

A mahooosive multicoloured sticky banner reminding OPs to include their kid's ages in the opening post, as it's nearly always relevant.

I’d delete posts that say “all men/women/elephants/kangaroos/trees are [insert clearly false sfstement]” and then suspend the access of users that try to argue it as a fact.

Or someone experiences something clearly strange/unusual and asks "Is this the norm now?"

There are plenty of reasons to post on Mumsnet that have no relevance to parenting.

Ban the antisemites. Some have so many posts deleted. Seriously, just ban them and block their ip address.

Blocking an IP address achieves nothing, you don’t keep the same one, unless your ISP provides a static IP, which many don’t.

Allow posters to edit their own posts, whenever they want; including in effect deleting them by replacing the post with a full stop.

Tell posters they can only argue with other people’s arguments.

Get rid of those annoying adverts, including those that look like threads.

Introduce a basic reading comprehension test as part of the registration process.

Indeed it's maddening when you've been reading a thread for some time thinking it's a current one. Yesterday I was reading something when I noticed a message just above the text box where you would write a comment. I can't remember exactly but it was an alert about the thread being old and suggested considering an alternative to posting on it.
It's not heading them off at the pass but it is some help.

I understand the need for ad revenue, but the ads that constantly move make me feel sick!
It’s a vertigo reaction; my eyes are focusing on reading the thread, but the ad movement drags my eyes away.
I’m absolutely sick of it, resorting to covering the top of my phone with a handkerchief but as you might imagine, this is very clunky and annoyingly when trying to move between topics.

Number the comments on a thread. It's handy when referring back to a comment.

Make it possible to merge threads on the same topic. It's not unusual to see duplicates on the same subject in the same sub forum and people posting on both.

Tighten up the registration process to stop the bots and spam.

Keep a public list of all the companies that try to advertise in this way. Name and shame them

I do always report advertising immediately though as I hate it.
